I don’t have a Subaru but the FL spec sound similar to what I have on my Z. After being in another car with pillowballs I can’t see how they make any sense on street but then so many other coilovers go full comfort and show. It’s nice seeing other performance focused, firm coilovers that aren’t harsh and don’t make noise.

I can confirm that the FL-Spec V2 is perfect for the streets!!! I had no idea coilovers were so comfortable and handled so well. I always thought they were only for track use and would be harsh for the roads. So I've been riding on Bilstein struts with either Swift Spec R or RCE regular guy lowering springs. Big mistake!!! My WRX'S interior is even quieter now with the FL-V2's. I don't get jostled around on the same bumps I once did.I purposely drove the same roads/ off ramps to get a comparison. The difference is really night and day with these coils. A lot of people on here or FB forums also said $1k coilovers were a waste of money. I almost broke the bank and was gonna buy some Cygnus coils. Im glad I didn't because these are perfect for what I do.Don't end up with 2 sets of lowering springs like i did. You don't need $2k coils for the streets either.

Great review! We are big supporters of "everything has it's place" over here, and this thought process enables us to design our different coilover lines to each have a unique purpose and driving dynamic. This ensures that we don't get caught trying to make one coilover do everything, which is the pitfall for many brands out there, and results in the bad experiences you've mentioned. We're happy to see that you got the right setup for you with the FL-Specs!

Happy to see your excitement, but the bad news is that we currently don’t have coilovers for the 2022 WRX yet. Subaru made some changes to both the lower mount and top hats in the front that mean a full redesign. We are currently working on them right now and should have our first prototypes installed on our car within the next week or two, however we then will need to spend the next couple of months testing different strut valving and spring rates to determine the best setup for this car. This means that we likely won’t have production coilovers ready until probably this fall.

I have F spec V1 on my 2020 wrx. It is nice for daily but the oem camber bolts will not get your alignment back to oem spec. My front cambers are currently sitting at -2.5 that is as far as those bolts allow and I can see the inside shoulders worn out faster compared to the outside of the same tire. Also my passenger side caster is now lower compare to the driver side and my car would steer to the right following the road crowd. I would recommend the FL spec as it now has the rubber isolators from the F Spec with the camber plate. Pay a hundred Buck more would save a lot more money and headaches.

Are the fl v2 comes with the adjusters for the coils and for the damper
@factionfab5834

Yes! All coilovers come with 4 adjuster knobs so you can keep them installed in the coilover at all times for easy adjustment on the road.

Coming up on a year of running your FL Spec V2's on my decently modified Toyota GR86. Been super happy with them and I have no plans on swapping them out anytime soon! Question for you guys, I do go up and down a small gravel driveway at my house every day at low speeds. Should I be concerned about premature wear of the coilovers?
@factionfab5834
@factionfab5834 10 ай бұрын
We wouldn't expect any excessive wear and tear. High speed / performance driving and putting them through extreme heat cycles is usually the biggest contributor, but unless you use your driveway like Travis Pastrana, you should be fine.

I had the first version of the FL spec on my 2018 WRX. Ever since I upgraded to a Subaru STI Type RA, I have been very worried about even upgrading anything. Now I’ve been tempted on upgrading my suspension. Better to get these again, or upgrade to something more expensive since it’s an RA?

Real talk, it honestly depends on your end goal for the car. I'm sure our opinion is going to sound biased, but one of the best benefits of our coilovers is having the 3 different lines that each focus on a specific goal instead of one options that tried to do too many things, so when you pick FactionFab coilovers, you are able to get the best possible experience. Most of our other favorite high end coilovers also have the same mission to focus on one aspect and make it great, but the goal is typically track performance, which does not make a great street car. Most people don't need 3-way damping adjustment, super stiff spring rates, or heavy weight damping oil on their daily driver, these just make the car uncomfortable and confusing. Our goal with our coilovers is to provide options for your daily driver, canyon carver, or track car, whatever your goal is. All 3 lines offer independent height adjustment, the ability to fine tune the damping on the fly, and high quality materials for long life. We don't see our 3 coilover lines as a "good, better, best" option based on our retail cost, buy instead believe that any 1 of the 3 will be able to give most customers what they're after. TL;DR, spending more money on something doesn't necessarily provide a better experience. You should instead choose the product focus that aligns with your end goal. And with our 3 different coilover lines, I think we should definitely be in the running. If you want some input on which ones will be right for you, definitely reach out to me via email, sales@factionfab.com and we can discuss all the options.

Hi thanks for review Looking at getting FL spec V2 for my 2018 wrx Wanted to know if the oil weight in the FL spec V2 same oil used in F spec ? Also what’s the minimum one can lower the car on FL spec for wrx 2018 from stock height? Thanks
@factionfab5834
@factionfab5834 Жыл бұрын
Yes, the FL-Specs use a lighter weight oil, just like the F-specs. The heavy weight oil is used in the FR-Specs for racing application. For ride height information, check out the install instructions hosted on our website!

I do a lot of winter driving in the snow and I wanted to keep my ride height close to oem. I was wondering do the FL spec allow you to keep oem ride height? How much do they drop the car if I adjusted it to the highest setting?
@factionfab5834
@factionfab5834 2 жыл бұрын
Final ride height specs vary between models, but typically the highest ride height for the FL-Spec is slightly below OEM ride height, but definitely still tall enough to qualify for a winter mode. We do have a table showing average max and min ride height on the install instructions document, which is hosted on our website on all the coilover pages if you want to look at exact specs for you model.

Any plans to make coilovers for 4th gen legacy gt?
@factionfab5834
@factionfab5834 2 жыл бұрын
As of right now we don't have any plans for the LGTs. Limited engineering staff means we can usually only go after the more popular models, but we also do take product requests very seriously, so the more we see people ask for fitments, the higher up they go on our future development list!
