Good times! The 2022 YZ250X is 1 of the 2 bikes I’m eyeing for my new bike this summer. It appears to be a solid platform for GA riding. I just wish it had e-start & 6th gear but at under $8k, I’ll probably be overlooking those!

no you wont be overlooking those when you inches from making it over a crux obstacle and a little estart bump saves the day. get a bike with e start. ive put 400+ hours on my yz250x. nothing is more reliable. However, not having e start is a big pita when you get into the rocks. and dont even think getting a rekluse is the answer.....rekluse sucks

I don't miss the e start, it kicks easy. The 6th gear though, I keep looking for it.. every damn time I ride.

Impressive run! Just curious… I’m broken between KTM 300 tpi or yz250x. I was thinking that the yz would lack a good bottom end for the slower more technical terrain but this video would seem otherwise!! Am I right to believe that the yz has a good enough bottom end to handle this type of enduro riding well?? It sure looks like it!

I bet he had to do quite a bit of clutch work to get through some of the trickier parts, amd that it still ended up being more difficult than with a 300.

Old comment, but I will still opine. The 300 will have more torque and will therefore be easier in slow stuff, that’s a given. The question is if the 250 is adequate, which it absolutely is. Then how much of an added challenge is it? I would argue very little as long as you’re comfortable with the clutch.

Im selling my 22 300 tpi for one of these. Tpi is just a hassle overall with a bunch of extra systems not needed. Also not cool having to pay 3000$ to get the suspension to the level it should be

I have both, the 250 obviously has a little less torque but in the high rpms it has more power than a 300

Not sure, as good as he rides he might benefit from it. I mean my yz250 with a apex head, Lectron carb, 18” rear and geared for enduro has a ton of grunt.

because the 300 kits dont rev as quick and dont produce as much top end. The 250 is likely equal or better than it in horsepower numbers with better reliability.
