That does not look damaged yet, only the outer insulation is wrinkled. But over time that will damage the copper. They should have used a classical home appliance style of stress relief. When you have damaged cable, the cable starts to heat up at the stress point. Any amount of heating in a relatively low current cable (under 10 amps) is the sign of potential fire hazard. If the reports are true, some of the users already have cables with damaged copper. Great to see that the issue is adressed. This is exactly one of the reasons why i don't rush to buy new products, they may have design issues that are usually fixed in the first few months.

Seems like a design oversight!. Bambu should issue a f/w update to limit rapid heating(damp down PID). Unfortunately, this could double the heating time, apart from how long a higher temp level could be maintained(which will reduce usability for larger and longer duration prints🤔). Replacing the cable with a thicker gauge, more flexible cable(esp. number and size of the individual strands-just having a more flexible jacket will not work.) and a better strain relief(thermoset plastic, or silicone boot, with higher flammability rating) is the only longterm solution. Just some 💭

@@LoyalMoses Iam glad that BL is proactive, unlike many other companies👍. They could have avoided all this fiasco, if only they have implemented, internally routed (under the heated bed) coiled cable(akin to old wired receiver/mouthpiece phone cable). It is indeed used in one of the laser engravers (genmitsu lc40?). The only difference is the larger size of the wires(due to high power ac heatbed). It could have increased the cost a bit though(would need twice the length of the coil at minimum). Just some 💭
