Melting Snow on the Stove

Skiing and finding a nice place to rest in the deep snow, setting up the Trangia stove to melt snow and make coffee. In the snowy winter water is everywhere, you only need something to melt it with. Hiking in snow can be exhausting and you need to drink a lot. Just remember to bring the extra fuel needed!

@@harryhaller4094 the sound recording is separate from the video. he then edits the two feeds into one. i don't think he uses a drone for these shots but with proper planning and setup a stationary drone would save a lot of time.

@harryhaller4094 3 жыл бұрын
@@jgeur I agree, sound an video are separate, but what he does is to transport us to that place. So is important microphones and cam to be close to each other. This way we can hear him leaving as if we were there. A dron can be very useful and a very good solution in many circunstances, but not when you want realistic sound, because of the dron noise. The way Erik works is harder, but in exchange he gets the effect he wants and a very high quality product.

Very beautiful and calm video, as always, thank you Erik! Also again I saw how you operate your Trangia in these cold temperatures by putting the match in upright, I will try that for sure. One more tip for the audience: If you're ever gonna camp over night in such conditions try to secure some already fluid water along the way. Melting snow - especially the fluffy, powdery kind - is a very tedious business and takes very long if you need more than one or two cups of water. Like for drinink, cooking, washing yourself, doing dishes...

Man, you guys have sure got more snow than we have this year (in northern Ontario, Canada)! .... I am always impressed with the amount of work you put into these films! Skiing downhill away from your camera means you must go back up to get it. Or getting in a kayak, and paddling off... only means you must come back, get your camera, and do it all again. But it sure pays off with some awesome films! I also enjoyed the minimal narrative. I know the 'silent' moody videos are all the rage these days, but I really like some narration to help me understand what's going on and to help me connect better with the maker. Makes it feel more personable. Well done! 👍🏻🇨🇦

There's nothing as silent as a deep Swedish forest in January/February, especially right after a couple of storms. If there is no wind, then all you can hear if you stand absolutely still, is the blood rushing thru your veins and your own breathing, simply magical... Well in this video I could hear a couple of crows (It's Erik's signature sound after all...lol!), but in my neck of the woods it's often dead quiet.
