For those wondering whether Erik is even alive: yeah he is, you can easily find a very recent newspaper article about an art exhibition where he is participating. There´s even a picture with him included in the article. Don´t know much else, especially nothing about his decision making on this quietness here on KZfaq, but he is at least doing well enough to produce his art. ☺ I guess we have to accept that he at least has paused this channel for the time being.😕 In the meantime, let´s revisit his beautiful videos from the past😊💚🏞

After all the hundreds of health wishes in the last few months, Erik would be perfectly fit... I don't believe that he wouldn't respond at least by short message to the long-built wide community of loyal followers who ask how he is.. I think Erik is certainly not an ignorant.. Saying goodbye for some time, at least with a few words would be decent and he would definitely do that.. I wish it wasn't so, but it seems that the story has a some bad ending, either way.. I sympathize with your plight. At 80 years old, I too can't do what I once did because of numerous knee surgeries, ankle surgery, a bad back and asthma. The engine is still good (except for the asthma), but the suspension is worn out!. But do what my body will allow, and live vicariously through other, younger and fitter people. I hope you will be able to resume your hiking, so that I may continue to live vicariously through your videos as well.

Nordic skiing has been one of my favorite pastimes!

What type of boot is best? Is an actual skate skiing boot sufficient, or a is a light Telemark boot necessary? How much snow on top is tolerable?

My goal and style would be expedition sort of thing pulling pulkas on hilly landscapes in Finland... I was eventually looking at the Alpina Alaska boots..are they resistant enough to use on rocks or gravel terrain..? Thank you and see u out there;))

I'd rather use an alcohol stove than a white gas, or canister stove . Light weight Almost silent great for stealth camping Have used at 7000 feet elevation and as cold as 9 degrees If you understand how and WHY they work you can use them virtually EVERYWHERE
