As manager of the shop that supplied the bike, I want to publicly thank this customer for his measured and calm response which made managing a stressful situation for all concerned, that much easier. We did everything that we could to get him rolling asap and decided to take the parts off a brand new showroom 160TM and a third(!) 625Wh PowerTube out of a brand new Hybrid Cross without waiting on the Bosch warranty process, which we are now following up in our own time. I've owned a 2020 Stereo 140TM for a few weeks and have enjoyed 100+ trouble free miles so far. Regarding the headset issue, my advice moving forward to anyone riding their Stereo regularly over rough terrain is to keep an eye on it and adjust as and when necessary as the bike beds in. It's a really easy process and should just take a couple of minutes (Loosen stem pinch bolts, tighten stem top cap bolt by a small amount, retighten stem pinch bolts. Check headset play, repeat as necessary). There is no official torque setting for the stem top cap bolt as far as I am aware, it's adjusted on feel and directly affects headset play. Like lots of bike shops, our short test ride before we release a new bike, usually less than a mile, is carried out on the roads near the shop and will not be enough to shake it loose. Another issue that arose for me - I'm about 200lb/92kg and the static part of my dropper post was slipping down in the frame on the first couple of rides. We now use carbon gripper paste when building the bikes and that seems to have cured it for me. I'm a rider first and foremost, a salesman second, and my overriding aim is to see customers out riding, enjoying their bikes and getting in the miles and smiles.

Really pleased it sorted :) It's good to know it was something as simple as a plug, could of been something daft like the pins not fully inserted caused it to arc slightly. I was really surprised when I noticed that bosh had used a molex mini-fit jr connector for the frame charging port. That connector is not one that is appropriate for any installation whare it might get any kind of moisture ingression. I didn't change the connector in my bike as the connector is fairly well protected against moisture. From the picture it looks like the connector on your bike are in a more exposed location so you might want to replace it/have it replace by the shop for a connector that is approved for automotive use.

From what I have read, the motor senses when you shift and momentarily backs off power (Gearsensor shifting Sensor)

Just a tip for those of you that like to get your bikes wet , you can use some dielectric non conductive grease and cover the connector generously with the grease it will stop the water and salts getting to it , don't use power washers to wash your bike !

Cube carbon frame warranty 2 years? That worries me. My Giant Anthem alu is lifetime and my nate with same cracked his after 6 years. Replaced no problem. So is carbon prone to fail? Why not longer warranty?

Can I ask why you picked the 140 Race (Sram + RockShox) over the 140 SL (Shimano + Fox)? Was it the price or something else?
