I use to work for Stagecoach Fife as a labourer as a labourer but had to give up work in May 2013 since being diagnosed with MS. I was diagnosed in November 2006 but refused to give up work till I had to in May 2013. I use to work on the buses servicing checking changing oils etc. Job I did love Pal. Nowadays I run around on a Mobility Scooter which I stuck a Volvo B10M badges on I got from eBay. Plus it sounds like an electric version of a B10M which I love. 👍

Nice vLog! Ah, the wonders of Ashcott on the A39. The guy with the dark-pink cottage on the right at 1:25:34 paints his house every other year, as like many so close to a road it gets dirty. He does it by placing a 12ft wooden ladder up the wall, footing it about 3ft into the road. He protects the footing with just two cones around the bottom - yes, that's your hazard warning! No additional signs, no spotter, no "Men At Work" sign - two cones and more courage than I could ever summon. I conclude that he must have great life insurance. The roads over the Somerset levels in many places - such as on the way to Durstons - are ages old going back to the medieval times when Glastobury Abbey owned the whole area. These "roads" often have a base that includes an at least 3ft depth of withes/willows. Hence all those heavy trucks over the top tends to easily create an uneven potted surface after a while, on what must be a relatively flexible base - more like a drum than a solid foundation? I could take you to worse roads on the levels, but you'd only get to them in a rigid. Back when I was a school kid in Creech St Michael, Berrys ran the local school bus service. During a flood, one driver misjudged the edge of the road - we endend up at 30degree's plus, although they did mange two days later to recover the coach - a Plaxton Elite powered by a Bedford engine - with only superfical damage. The road between Burtle and the crossroads of Harp Road on the levels is only fractionally wider than the farm road you drove on, along with a rhyne either side driving an artic passing one coming the other way, ‘bum flapping’ is the only way it could be described 🤣

Martyn Greetings from New Zealand Just watched this vlog first time view of your channel ( followed a link from Stevie Blokes channel) just subscribed to your channel,I have followed a few others like Jay/Kev/Luke/Ned/Mat. I enjoy these types of vlogs driving on the highways and byways of the UK and cross channel trips. I worked in the UK 1979/80 in my late teens on my first OE (a thing most young Kiwis do leave home for a couple of years and visit the motherland) I worked for an Aviation company at Leeds-Bradford Airport. I was never a truck driver Planes were my thing.

I asked my boss for a new truck, he giggled as it has only done 200k. It is so underpowered being a Renault and I take tankers. Good gearbox though, and we usually keep our trucks till 800k so I'm stuck with it for the next couple of years. Nobody else drives my truck which is nice, and I got it new.

Good vlog. I not a fan of those driving behaviour light systems. I have a bootles cab drive in my socks it is actually very comfortable, also has reduced the dust and dirt massively. I Carnot go to tf petaboure but I should be at tf south west Carnot wait. Drive safe.

I had a couple of hoes on the goods in radio to gatehouse back in the day But not for me trucks were coming in the tardy thick and fast plus having to know which docks had to be kept empty for double decker loo roll and cornflakes etc But I was a yard forkie at a large food warehouse as big as that loading chep pallets etc and unloading vans and 7.5t at the ramp etc All good fun

Jenko please don't take this the wrong way I don't mean to be rude by any means but i found this far to long, 1h 50ms for a vlog is to much. I'd much rather Trucker Jay, Scott Andrews & kevTees 30mins/40mins it's much better I also cant handle any more "Toodles" . Apologies if I've offended anyone it wasn't intended. 👍
