The Nurse Who Loved me deserves mention. It's an excellent song, and serves as an excellent gateway to the band through the APC cover.

I remember when APC's "Thirteenth Step" came out, and my GF at the time-who is a huge Maynard fan...., came to pick me up (I kinda couldn't walk/drive at the time). She was so excited for the new album, but before even pulling out of my driveway was like "Before we go, you have to hear this song.....". I immediately started smiling and picked up with "To the rugs topography...". The look on her face was priceless. She didn't know how I already knew the song....to which I told her it's a cover of a song of a band I've been listening to for years. Think a lot of people got a surprise upon hearing/finding out it's a [well composed] cover..... Maynard's 'thank you' to Ken and the guys.

I don't know how I'm just now coming across this video. The wild thing about Failure is that, typically, when a band gets back together after being broken up for a really long period, their output may be decent, but not really anything great. Failure somehow has managed to pick up exactly where they left off while still evolving into a sound that fits the time we're in now.

My favorite band. Another space song is my favorite track in the album. I also like similar bands such as ON, year of the rabbit, ken andrews and autolux, the life and times.

I love the tracklist for this album. It starts out kinda grungy, then spaces out a bit on the segues. Things heat up during Smoking Umbrellas, then cool down during Blank and Dirty Blue Balloons. The Nurse Who Loved Me and Stuck on You are both prime hit material, then Heliotropic adds irratiated sunbeams and eerie keyboards. Then Daylight dawns and provides sweet release. A hidden masterpiece at the end of the grunge era.

You forget the sometimes member, Troy Van Leeuwen. Troy was a member of A Perfect Circle and current member of Queens of the Stone Age among other projects as well. Interestingly, Greg Edwards recently subbed for James Iha in Perfect Circle. Just throwing that tidbit of info out there. Nice vid. Thanks for making it. Failure is and was criminally underrated. They may have more fans now than they did then. So, not really hidden as much as in the past. That's a good thing. \Failure/

As a HUM fan, I'm also a HUGE Failure fan; especially after getting more into Fantastic Planet and learning their songs on guitar and bass (same with HUM). Also it's so cool that you're Australian; I LOVE kangaroos and Kangaroo Jack UwU.~ Also I love Silverchair; the 3 grunge kangaroos - my favorite album is Freak Show. Silverchair is also fairly underrated especially nowadays... Everybody writes them off as "Aussie Nirvana" or "Nirvana in pajamas," but no they're definitely their own thing. XD Also I'd love to see a Garbage, SP, Failure, and HUM tour that would be epic. \M/

While it's hard to "rate" Failure's songs in any particular order..... because of how eclectic their range is- especially from album to album....."Daylight" will always just barely be that 0.1 better.....as in, it's always been my favorite song. From a distance, it's just a 'rocking out song'. Up close, it's about walking away and leaving everything behind. That drop into the first chorus NEVER gets old.

Nice video... Love Failure Back in the day. when I was living in LA? I was playing drums for some different bands etc. I wanted to meet Ken so badly?... I had Fantastic Planet down on drums and everything- Then I found out about a band that was auditioning drummers? They were called Enemy. I can't remember exactly? But one of the guys from Failure was in this band or something? Anyway, I figured this was my ticket to meet him and the rest of the guys somehow? lol, I had their whole EP memorized as well. I was so excited! Then all the sudden, I ran into a whole bunch of problems around that time? and to make it short.... I ended up having to move back to Sac-town...Ugggh! (Everything did end up on a great note btw) lol well that was some of my Failure story?

1:40 I think you picked a strange juxtaposition for helping out viewers. I am 99.99% certain that Ken Andrews had mentioned that the material for Fantastic Planet had been sitting around for a year, and they had record label problems. Smashing Pumpkins were the darlings of their label, and Failure akin to a procrastination exercise for their label.
