From here on in, the #FairmontProject videos will be, for the most part, episodic. Meaning, I’m going to chronicle the build as it happened rather than post videos about installing certain parts.
Link to (Part 1): • #FairmontProject Final...
In this episode I wrap up the work on the K member with a little custom fitting and some borrowed parts from the Mustang. I also start work on the cold side piping of the turbo.
Fun fact: I believe this is the last video Cameraman Brian worked with me on the build. He had other work and some travel that kept him busy.
What Happened to Cameraman Brian?: • Where is Cameraman Brian?
Be sure to tune in at the end for some bloopers.

Always love watching you work. I’ve learned so much beyond what I already knew. Mostly about order of operations and being methodical about stuff. That all came in handy a few weeks ago for what was supposed to be an easy oil leak fix that turned into a head gasket. Thanks bmw for putting a rubber seal under the head.

Eric, when I first saw you start this build, it wasn't anything that captured my attention. But, as I watched you work on the car more, I became very interested in the build. And I want to say, the finished product is amazing. I have a new found respect for vintage car builds because of you. I would rather have your Fairmont than my new Civic because the Fairmont has so much HP and so much character.

Eric, my brother-in-law has a 98 Buick Century that has a loud clicking sound in the passenger wheel. Now he says the wheel feels like it wobbles and he feels it in the steering wheel too. When I used all your tips from other videos to look at the suspension or the guess if it is the bearing or idle arm I can not get it to make the noise when I have it up. I've been to BMW driving school and Bonderant. Why push my car when I can use the ones at the track. The truth is, the Fairmont isn't done. I still have some tuning to do before I really push the car again. I learned my lesson last summer when I burned up a piston. Given that I'm already starting on my next project, there really isn't any room for more expensive mistakes. Lastly, this car was made for the STREET, not the track. There, it does exactly what I built it for, ripping down country roads with the radio and AC going.
