I don’t understand why Mike Patton isn’t talked about more in the rock community. Creative genius and arguably one of the best rock vocalists

He's not exposing himself, he doesn't give a shit about being marketable, he has his niche and enjoys what he does for the people who love it. No need to sell anything, because the thing sells itself to those who love it for what it is. Marketing can suck a fat one.

he does have the best voice i've ever heard... he has amazing range and control over his voice and very powerful set of lungs! his creativity is off the charts and his style... i always say he is quite possibly the coolest dude on the planet... i feel lucky cuz my best friend was good friends with him so i feel like he is my friend too! and he is described as "outside of the box" type guy... really nice genuine person.. not afraid to speak his mind either he has a spine and doesn't care what the rock n roll community thinks

Every element of FNM is incredible- the originality, technical excellence Of each musician, The poetic depth of the lyrics, the passionate and astounding vocals, The infectious," Catchyness" of the songs the showmanship of their performance- always engaging, full - steam - ahead energy and humor- And it all sounds so great even today how many years later? Amazing band. I'm so lucky they've been Part of the soundtrack in my life.

80s was better. I seem to recall in the mid 90s MTV showed nothing but the names of hate crime victims for a couple days. After that it was never the same, consisting largely of terrible reality shows and preachy political messaging. It just seemed less like music television after that. It was great from the early days and Down Town Julie Brown, Headbangers Ball, Countdown, Yo MTV Raps, Beavis and Butthead, Kennedy, etc. Anything after that era is basically rubbish imo

Dam you really like Layne Staley lol? Best vocalist there was in the 90s imo. He's my absolute favorite. Too bad he went down the path he did. Seems like Layne was never the same after he ODd on I think it was a van halen tour, and after he died and came back he just went back to his apartment and slowly killed himself. I just lost a friend last week who was probably 24 or 25. An innocent soul tormented by lack of spirit in others, and so they lower themselves to be like the rest. Not everybody makes it out alive I suppose.

He is certainly an under rated man in the music business. Shame because he much more than people expect from him.

They did this song on Saturday Night Live around the same time and i really like it. Mike climbs around on the stage rigging during the song. It is truly Epic!

I love how they initially had a lip sync track playing but they realized "Oh wow this band sounds exactly like they do on the recording and they're ACTUALLY playing the song, nevermind" and cut it off

The only Metal Band to be on Yo Mtv Raps!! Anthrax may have been when they collaborated with Public Enemy, as well as Biohazard with Onyx.

Jason Glenn That's because they were one of the first Crossover Metal bands along with Sepultura. They were way ahead of their time. Even in the 80's.

This was the only "Rap Rock" song they ever did. Little known fact: Anthrax collaborated with U.T.F.O. first back in '85 and Atheist beat Sepultura to the punch with 'Elements' in '93

This wasn't Yo MTV Raps. This was "Da Show", which was a short lived variety show that happened to have been hosted by Dr Dre and Ed Lover. I saw a lot of bands on that show that you wouldn't normally see on MTV otherwise, like the Leningrad Cowboys, Cycle Sluts From Hell, and Life Sex Death.
