My little kiddo is 1 yr and 4 months old and when I played this song on youtube he literally stood still, kept his cool and listened the whole song through. I dont know the reason because he has been a vivacious and restless toddler ever since. FNM rules.

Took me 15 yrs to finally quit drinking. No AA meetings did it for myself and my two kids. Sober since August 2009. Anyone can quit when you fall so deep down. You will have enough

When I heard this song, it hit me hard with emotions...my son's dad died from alcoholism, and I still cry for him. So does my son We had to walk away. I know he loves us from heaven. Thanks for this song.I love it.

I know it's been 10 years since you left this comment, but I still feel like giving my condolences. I have fought alcoholism my whole life, and hopefully this time I win (17 months clean and dry), but I feel your baby's daddy's pain, and I hope y'all have found closure, and have just walked away.

My father used to sing this song to me when I was little and it would make me fall right asleep, even though I don't remember him singing it to me I would still listen to it and it would remind me of him but now we don't talk and I haven't heard this song in half a year... I wonder if he still cares

Whats interesting to me is that "This Bottle" could be so many different vices and addictions. Whatever it is, This Bottle ruined you.

This song is about an unrequited love who found another man. Trust me, I'm there right now and it makes perfect sense. I see myself in Patton so much I wonder if we are actually brothers. Hope, actually!
@KristenaBailey11 жыл бұрын
Are you serious? How can you listen to this song and not get the meaning? It's right there in the lyrics. He is obviously talking to his loved ones about how his addiction to the 'bottle' has caused them pain.

This song is about alcoholism, and all the damage it does! In particular, about the woman he was with, but blew it with his alcoholism. He had dreams, and ambitions so big for his future with her, all delusions while drinking! He could have had it all with her, but drank it all away, so now he wants to hurt as he made her hurt in some kind of repentance, but it's too late, she's gone, so he's telling her what he would have liked for them in his sober mind.

Tried for years to kick addiction. The one time I did after a month I was like a 35 year old child. Couldn't face people and tried to commit suicide 3 times in two years. This song holds deep sentiment and makes you go back into yourself for a while.

44 and still can't face a day without some kind of drug or alchohol in my system. I did the full program but like yourself there was no idea on after care. I didn't really know how to function after 20 years of addiction. Something that usually takes the normal person 10 minutes took me 45 as my nrain just felt it was over loaded. 44 and still here. Doing the same now because I barely know anything else. High or after a few drinks i'm perfectly fine and people can hardly even tell but with nothing I'm just a total empty shell and thats the bit that I have never been able to get past. Here in the UK provision for all this stuff is a one time opportunity and I blew it. I accept my fate with open arms and end it now. Crap man it really is.

Decided to see what crazy shit i text when i usually wake up. Delete. Say " never happened" I read that crazy shit.. Thats not me. Thats my drunken satan alter creepo. Faced it. And im sad. But it would be easier to go get a beer and push it away... But i cant keep drinking away the pain and added decay of once was only my childhood. Now.. Its ..drunks you feel me? Understood? Tool sober song doesnt justify my reasons to stifle the pain. I added up more and want to fly free as i did when grass was greener. And i was sober.. High hopes anyone?
