Thanks for posting this! I've listened to this song hundreds of times, but never could figure out what Mike was singing. This is my favorite FNM tune. I always play "A Small Victory" right after it. The two go together very well.

Saw them in 97 or 98 in Pinellas Florida it was a free concert BBQ 4th of July deal. And the crowd totally sucked. I have always loved Faith No More. But it was one of those shows we're Patton insulted the audience and talk shit about how hot it was and how shity it was and nobody knew who they were but I still loved it rock on Faith No More

People knew who the band was when they had Jim Martin on guitar, that guy was such an integral part of the looks of the band, instantly recognizable. But then Mike and the others ganged up to get him out of the band. Don't complain that people don't recognize you now, then, silly bitch LOL

I saw them in a small 1000 capacity club in England in '95 when they had just released King for a Day. I was 16. I saw pretty much every major band and dance act of the mid/late 90s live, but that concert sticks in my mind as the best. It was pure energy and magic from the first note to the last, and the crowd were unreal.

I never heard the "We were" before "so happy" before watching this. Thank you not only for posting it, but also for having the lyrics completely accurate. Though "We were so happy" is at the beginning of the song, that's something not printed on the album's lyric sheet. Did you do a video like this for "A Small Victory", and if you did, did you correct the mistake?

It's "everyone knew the thing that was best, a cost he must invest." the penny won't do, it has to be the bouncing baby...
@diecast-innracingleague90223 жыл бұрын
"Of course he must invest, a penny won't do...." I had to correct your correction because that's the correct line. I know my lyrics. I've been listening to Faith No More since Chuck Mosley was the original lead singer from the very first self-titled album We Care a Lot. I got to meet Mike Patton in the boys in April of 1995 when they played Club Rio, in Tempe Arizona. Hung out with them in the tour bus before before the show. Smoked a bunch of weed. Mike asked me if I had any requests. I said yes would you please play take this bottle from your new album? They were on the a King for a Day Tour. Mike Patton is one cool mofo. Very nice guy. Very down-to-earth

The people who click dislike on this probably do so because it's too intelligent for them to understand and they would've preferred your typical "Let's party!" or Mariai Carey-type love song lyrics that don't require thought.
