This is what earthquakes listen to when they really need to rock out.

The bass in Woodpecker is...insane, monstrous. It would kill a weaker musician.

Groovy beyond words. What a venue, so envy those who were there.

Am kinda embarrassed I saw and heard Simply Red at this legendary venue back in 1987. But what a helluva vocal performance put on by their arsewipe frontman Mick Hucknall. He was GREAT that night and had the crowd consistently shouting, 'Brilliant, bloody brilliant' throughout the show. Have to agree with them no matter what I think of Hucknall as a person. Better explain the bitterness and disdain for Hucknall: he came to Ottawa with his band for a show around 1985 and at a post-gig party was an absolute jerk to one of my friends Patty. Gorgeous girl did not deserve the garbage Hucknall threw at her verbally, wanted to sleep with her and she was having none of it. Oh well. Wish I had slept with her. lol

A good band goes onstage, performs and their fans enjoy it. A GREAT band does the same, but their fans know all the words by heart, and sings along w/ the band.'Nuff said.

The only band I can say that sort of thing about is Coldplay at Esquires in Bedford. That sucks balls in comparison to seeing Faith No More.

Would love to see them play the full version of woodpecker with a full string arrangement behind them. Maybe first half of woodpecker/first 3/4 of midlife/finish woodpecker/finish midlife.
