I've never watched woodpecker from mars live at the Brixton Academy. But anyway, this instrumental song is awesome, it's such a masterpiece. This band has brought me several kinds of innovation.

I was at this gig, can't believe it was so long ago! I think I need a sit down with a cup of cocoa and a hobnob. FNM were one of the best live bands I have ever seen and the mosh during Woodpecker was always nice and violent. Happy days!

You don´t know a band until you hear/see it play live. The album version of this is so mathematically correct it gets boring with the fifth time you hear it. I mean not bad, but this is live music! Plus there is one ingredient in the recording that you have to know about, or else you miss the point of the recording: Matt Wallace, the producer and mixer of the album. The producer is practically an extra band member. Nice version. Insane version. Loved it.

***Nearly 6 minute bass slapfest*** Camera guy: “Lemme make sure to video the guitar and keyboards for 80% of the song, and MAYBE squeeze in some of the rhythm section if I get to it.” 🙄

Back in high school, when this was new, one night I got violently too high. Smoked way more weed than I should...I went into my room and put in headphones on..in the dark i lied on my bed and listened to this song. It was one of the most intense psychedelic experiences I've ever had, and I've smoked dmt while tripping on lsd.m and mushrooms. I was literally exhausted when the song ended like I ran a few miles. That shit changed my life .. I got to tell that story to mike( the drummer)when I met him at a gas station in Napa. He's really cool. Told him his music changed my life !
