It's also illegal to sell packs as new when they've been resealed. Imagine going to Best Buy and leaving with what you thought was a brand new cell phone only to learn later on that it was refurbished and repacked. That's not legal. There are a handful of sellers on Amazon marketplace that are known to sell Pokemon cards that have been resealed and even go out of their way to reseal booster boxes. What sad losers. I'm sure these idiots can be sued if someone really wanted to send a message to this negative element of the community. Also, Thanks for bringing this topic up. Most people that get ripped off by these scam artists are kids and that irritates me to no end.

Something to remember about Pokerevs Japanese Neo Genesis box is that it wasn't tampered with or resealed, the whole box was straight up fake. There's no telling when it could've been made but the whole thing was like someone produced their own cards and a box with equipment, and the holo cards were basically like stickers or laminated. Can't really blame him for not being able to tell but the Japanese boxes also have no wizards logos

I bought 4 Shining Legends Raichu GX Boxes from Amazon last week. Every single one was tampered with. The boxes were resealed and glued shut, the good pulls were removed from the boosters and the packs were taped closed....with scotch tape. Even Amazon is having issues. Inspect your deliveries ASAP, especially if you plan on sitting on them for a while.

Wow, you literally saved me as I was opening up the shipment of packs I just received. All had top and bottom sealed, and they even melted back the tears on the back where the letters of words didnt even line up. Thanks for your videos man!!

Holes in the top and bottom corners doesn't mean it's been opened guys... those holes are so the pack won't explode if under pressure. Some cards have aeration on the sides (little tiny fine holes). So you have to look for other signs

Just started a Pokémon channel myself and found this video extremely helpful thank you so much Danny for your insight. I really appreciate this video and videos like these actually are so selfless and help people make more informed decisions. I recently got 3 resealed unlimited base set packs and the top crimp looked like it was ruffled and tampered with. I now know how easy it is to reseal but I fear for the newer generation of collectors. Scammers are ruining this game. The community needs to go to war with fake boxes. I was informed by eBay they’ll be doing a authentication center this quarter for Pokémon products 1500$-750$ or more and then she said “don’t quote me on this” we’ll be going down to 150$ on products so that basically covers every single vintage pack set even if you had to send them single packs to verify ! Can’t wait for eBay to step it up

Also I'm glad you posted this. I grabbed a champions path 35 dollar collection from my local card shop. huge card, a special card and 4 packs but no hits. Also the tops were super wierd. I should have took it back and grabbed my money. I would never have expected my local shop selling resealed stuff. I could tell because the pack piece was straight stuck to the top part and I couldn't open it up by pulling both sides like every other pack. So mad lol

I got some unlimited fossil, jungle, and some topps packs from an old coworker. The tops and bottoms of the packs are both stuck on all of them; even the movie packs. Could they be like that from being in a bag in someone's garage for 20 years? I wouldn't see any reason why he'd reseal the cheap movie packs and he doesn't come off as someone that would be able to. The jungles were in blister packs, and you can also clearly see the adhesive on the plastic gave out because none of the cardboard peeled off on the blister. I think they are legit because I checked for any tears, but I just wanted to double check with someone else.

Big tip for eBay sellers that use stock photos. Use a stock photo for your main photo so it ranks better on the search results then use your own photos for the rest so that you can show your product. eBay prefers white backgrounds for your main photos, however, your other ones don't get checked.

I’ve had target blister packs that were resealed and once you open the housing the pack was fully open inside. Funny cuz one still had rare holo in it. But I was so pissed.

Could you possibly make a video on how you organize your master sets? Do you give each set its own binder or do you put multiple sets in the same binder? Base set - Team Rocket fits in a 12 pocket binder (I don't have unlimited/shadowless/1st ed split due to not owning all of them). But I'm having trouble deciding how to organize Gym Heros - Legendary collection.

On the point you made about the booster packs being stuck on the top and bottom. I have received products from the Pokemon Center that was like that. So I don't think that means it was tampered with. Maybe it's notable on some booster packs, but I would say it just makes it harder to tell.

Hey Danny, just got back into pokemon and have a ton of old cards, my best probably being 1st edition dragonite and birthday pikachu. I bought a darkness ablaze box for my brother, and we started to open it and it was factory sealed, but all the packs have this weird heat mark seal on the top and bottom. I've been filming the opening but wanted to know if you could look at a pic on insta or something and let me know if the packs have been tampered with or not

I think the top and bottom of the flap is a bit misleading. I bought a lot of tins from retail stores and most of the packs that I have from similar sets are at the top and bottom. It may be based on where the pack was made if there are multiple factories. Just checked a pile from these tins and many of them had flaps that were stuck on the top and bottom. Specifically I just checked a lot of packs that I got from sam's club twin packs (gengar box and eeveelution tin) there were straight from a warehouse, sealed from the pokemon company, with a sealed tin and EX box also sealed.

Danny, what are your thoughts on the Walgreens mystery box? I received a base booster pack in one of the boxes. The flap on the pack is sealed. I noticed in your video it is not.

Ok It's actually not ink that bleeds in the card. This is actually a very technical and complex process only way you can tell a REAL from a FAKE. It's actually a small amount plastic that runs all on the card.

I felt terrible for Rev and the Japanese box. Does the rip test work the same for Japanese cards?

Something else to consider is shrinkwrap that is too tight. People are known for reusing and reheating the shrinkwrap which would make it super tight when applied again.

What's up Danny! I had a question regarding loose packs. I've purchased several Pokeball tins that were completely factory sealed, but when I opened them up and got to the packs on the inside, some of the packs had a small opening on the bottom. I'm not sure if that was a packaging error or that they just move around so much in those tins, but when I opened the packs they did not seem to be resealed or fake at all. What do you think about those?

I’m new to the Pokémon buying/selling game and even though I use eBay right now for a lot of stuff, I hate it. So much sketchy stuff. Blurry or dark photos, corners of cards hidden under computers, no pictures from other angles, no backs of cards shown, falsely labeled.. I can’t wait to be established enough to not need eBay

It might just be me but I wish Pokémon boxes would go back to the old school style when they laydown instead of the new style of them being vertical...I know it displays better but still haha

I swear half the packs I buy are tampered with. Even those that where purchased stores that promise no card returns. It sucks. They really need a tamperproof tab on packs and boxes.

I received packs that if I put in the direction of a light I can see a couple of points of light through the top middle and base middle part of the pack. That is 100% resealed isn't it?

I bought an evolutions pack and held if. I went to sell it and found two nickel- quarter sized holes in wrapping while I was taking photos. Is that a sign of someone tampering or could that happen in transit? Any suggestions on if I go to sell? Do I tell the buyer to film them opening it?

bought a champions path etb and a kantos power box. 100 percent forsure the champions path was resealed but i wasnt too sure about the kantos box one pack was literally open when i opened the box. but who cares about the champions path i finally pulled a xy holo charizard!! ive opened 3 champions path etbs still no luck why is this small set so hard to pack the charizard
