another thing people can do is call Apple and ask to buy replacement cable for your beats. They must have a valid serial number to look up the cable part ID. The serial number you give them, the model and color should match their system. Replacement cables from Apple is priced very reasonable.

I just received my first FAKE Beats from eBay and I have to say I was fooled until I started to disassemble them first the ear muff came off way easier and the screws were just crappy plastic screws the real ones are machine screws that go into a brass insert. I have bought lots of Beats and this was my first Fake Pair ( now I'm in the process of returning them) Thanks For Sharing Joe.

I really Appreciate you guys making this very informative video. I bought a pair on ebay to good to be true price but hey you live and learn . The fake pair had every detail and even the w1 blue tooth, but after not being able to register or update I got suspicious. So I went and bought a brand new pair from local place . These turned out to be fake I picked up all the signs after having side by side …. You guys Rock !!!!!! Seller is getting these back and go from there .

I found out mine are real because I took off the ear cups and replaced them with some wicked cushions and they had the same things, and The pairing is also confirming they’re real, thanks.

The thing is that the fake ones are almost 20 times cheaper than the originals. Not everyone can afford that much money for a pair of headphones, well at least I can't. I would rather use the fake ones until I can afford the original ones. You really should have done a sound quality test between the two headphones bro. Nice Vid ❤ Keep it up

This made me want a pair of the FAKE ones for 44.99 on Ebay! they look DOPE and cost 45 bucks. I am still such a cheap o I will stick with my PLT 400 rig for 16.99 refurbished. Plays on PS4 and makes a great headset for music.

After all, if you are paying $200 - $300 for a brand name, you don't want to find out that its not even from Beats. That said, there are many brands out there that are great for gaming or just music. I myself like my Rig headset as well.

Well, not necessarily correct. I have the Mickey 90th Anniversary beats purchased through and registered with Apple and the Beats wording on the top is in bright red and if you run your finger across it and it's slightly raised; thus, they do not have to have light/shaded type lettering on the top. AND a P.S. - for anyone reading this now (november 10, 2019) they are $100 off for many color choices at Best Buy and on Amazon. $199 instead of $299.

Question..i got the solo3 club collection and they sound and feel legit, serial number is clear and they weigh 7.6 oz just like on the video but when i go to the beats updater i get a update unavailable, your product software is invalid please disconnect solo3, so its recognizing that they are solo3s and on the program that it downloads from the beats updater its a grayish box found in the tool bar as i connect there it does say solo3 and on version it says up to date. But again on the beats page i cannot get to the next part after connecting them

Thanks for watching! Unfortunately it is hard to prove sound quality over video as its more something you would have to experience first hand. From our experience we can for sure say that the quality differs from the original, and if you want consistency, stick with the authentic. With non authentic there is no guarantee on what you will get, as a lot of companies try and copy Beats with many different outcomes.

I have 2 pairs of the solo 3. One has the model number A1796 and the other just has the serial number and no model number. Is this of any concern?

Since they are Solo 3's, the serial number should start with FL6, and the fonts should be the same. If you are worried about authenticity, the Solo 3's register on the Beats Updater. Plug them into a computer, and run the updater. If your headphones pop up on the screen, they are no doubt authentic. Here is the link to use the updater: your.beatsbydre.com/#/?locale=en-US . CH

Buyer beware, I am assuming I have a fake pair. My beats solo 3 wireless feel cheap and have all of the signs of being a counterfeit pair. Only difference being that they do in fact have a W1 chip. The chip is sourced from broken pairs and placed into fake or replica pairs to further simulate authenticity. As a result they can even be updated. Thanks for the video, will be sending mine back to eBay

I unfortunately bought a fake pair on eBay because my budget for my dad was 115. I got them and they have the white logo on the band. There is no difference in sound. Literally none. They sound the same, connect the same and look the same other than the band. So TBH you still have beats.

Thanks for watching! There are many, many companies that make fakes. We have seen some terrible fakes, some with very short battery life, some made of all plastic, and some that we call hybrids, its like they were trying to make 2 different models at the same time. When you buy authentic, at least you always get the same thing. Plus, many people do care about getting name brand. Fakes are also not warrantied, and most companies will not repair them.

The hinge on the left side is authentic and the hinge on the right is counterfeit. The easiest way to spot the difference is to look at the fonts and colors and compare to the image below to ensure your Beats are authentic. The authentic font is more clear more visible looks like a stamp. Compared to the fake being scratched hard to read and slowly the writing fading away.

I have a pair of Beat Studio 3 headphones. The band says Wireless, but there is a cable on the opposite side of the charging port. Also, the charging port does not have an opening, it has the shape of the port but I can not push the plastic in,,, What is wrong with my headphones,, they were a gift.

Hey, you can change the name of the headphones in your device Bluetooth settings. The headphone's name is usually changed to the name of the device they are connected to by default. -David P

Thanks for watching! The Solo 2's and 3's have a rechargeable battery. The Beats Studio 1's take traditional batteries though.

the hate on beats products is likely due to people buying a fake and it fell apart on them. Then they blame on beats making a shitty product.

I bough a pair yesterday off offer up . I have a iPhone X with iOS 12 . Will it still pair the same way in your video . Mines didn’t I actually had to go to the Bluetooth section and click it .

bring your iPhone if they don't pair the same way as they did in this video then I would say no
