The crazy thing is that they're made in the same factory. Same molds. I've got a set of the comic based figures, they're almost exactly the same as the official release.

@@hunterlangley8287 exactly!! Everything is made in China in the same factory. I have all the original 2008 neca TMNT and bootlegs (colored/red masks) and they are pretty much identical.

@@funleague I had the 4 original neca tmnt figures then traded them for dc figures but regretted getting rid of them so I got knock off versions and I can't really notice much difference between them.great figures for copies👍 Only thing missing from these figures is bicept swivels but other than that they're 👌😎

You know, for bootlegs those look pretty damn good. Every bootleg I've seen of merchandise you can clearly tell that someone who has no idea about what they're making did it, but these actually are pretty accurate. That being said I'm still getting the official NECA figures since those look better

Ya i like the real ones but the fakes are made pretty good. The box and all looks pretty good and it came with extras too so that was a plus. If its for like my kids or some getting all 4 for 100 is a steal if they're goin to open an play with them.

Just wanna say thanks for your help. I had the ko's but decided to spring for the real ones although I didn't have the old ko box to check. I do notice the real ones lettering and pic of the turtles on the front of the box is raised slightly.. Is that also the case with the ko box? I can't remember.

09:40 for out of the box. They actually look pretty good. If you're not intending to resell and wanna save money and just want them on your shelf or for some stop motion it might be worth it.

7:45 When the light shines on the boxes, you can see that the print orientation of the images is different by looking at orientation of the corrugated lines of the cardboard. The real version has been printed onto the cardboard vertically, and the fake version has been printed horizontally onto the cardboard.

I buy mine off of Ebay. But they come from some amazon stores, but the main ones are from Alibaba and Aliexpress

The fake set I had were much more loose in the joints. Limbs would flop around when you'd shake them. The mold lines were much more prominent too and in more noticeable locations. Worth $50, but I got a refund for the $120 I spent.

Thank you bro. I just picked up a set on ebay and you just authenticated my 2018 Sdcc turtles. The box is perfect as far as the signs you pointed out. Mikey was what made me doubt. I have the Walmart 2 pack of Mikey and Ralph and the Sdcc Mikey's eyes had me worried. I know it's real now. Much love man. Thank you again 💓!

Are you talking about doing the fake vs real with the fake original single packs? Cause they haven't made the tmnt single packs for bootlegs... yet. But I did the unboxing to the real single packs on the channel

The missing ties on Donny’s belt is actually correct to the SDCC version. They corrected it on the GameStop rerelease. I’m guessing these bootlegs were made off the SDCC version, not just in packaging, and so the straps would be missing.

Any way you guys have info on the sdcc exclusive set of comic book shredder and foot clan? I just got one and it shipped from China.....the seller is guaranteeing that the product is real and authentic but I don’t trust it. Didn’t find out it was from China until after it shipped.

Question: I bought the Casey and April together in a box, I think for about €54. Now Casey has pieces of paint missing from his arm and April has yellow specks of paint on her skirt. The Nickelodeon logo has a red color instead of orange. Do you think this is are not real either?

SDCC Donny didn't come with straps on his belt, it was fixed for the GameStop version. Also, Neca sent me a replacement for Donny's head because the mask had a giant gap between his face and the mask on my exclusive ordered on day 2 from NECA. The mask on the replacement was painted darker than the bandana attachment that came in the original box. I don't expect all of NECA's paint applications to ever be exact. Id like videos to include more information for what we can't see. How does the plastic feel vs the NECA? is it lighter, heavier? harder or easier to pose, does it feel cheaper or the same. is it more rubbery or stiffer and brittle etc.

Supporting the bootlegs is a slap in the face to NECA. So much dedication and hard work, all for us Turtle Fans, just so we can raise our middle fingers at them. It's so messed up.

Man whatever...NECA did a real shitty job with their releases. Scalpers got a hold of everything. For many of us that couldn't get our hands on em, bootlegs are not a bad option. NECA deserves that slap in the face

Great video! Have been waiting patiently for a comparison video & this one absolutely nails it! I bought the fakes (knowingly) & have to say im very pleased with them, might well invest in the real ones coming out (over here in the UK) but the fake bad boys look pretty damn cool in the interim!👍🏻 One thing to note: The only real difference i would point out is Leo's holders for the swords, on the fake they are slightly warped & not able to put the swords into, using a hairdryer rectified 'warp' but still could not put the swords in the holders... mior thing overall as the bootlegs are f*****g awesome!

@david scott.i was gonna get them from ebay but my mrs pre-ordered all 4 turtles from kapow toys for me xmas.the 4 pack pre-order is sold out as of last week so im totally fucking buzzing im 100% getting them and just in nick of time.29 years is a long time to wait for these babies but so gonna be worth it lol.i wanted the k.o's went they went up on ebay but happy to wait for the real thing.uk release date is oct/nov here in uk.👍bosa nova dude

Great video! Just so you know, on the REAL SDCC 2018 pack Donnie is missing the straps on his back as well... so Neca must have fixed the issue for the GameStop ones, but if you were to open your REAL pack Donnie would be missing the straps, so that's not a good indicator.

Walmart buys directly from neca so they dont get fakes but Walmart has the biggest problem with people buying an returning figures and I have heard of people buying an replacing the figure with a fake an returning it sad to say

I saw one thing on the back of the boxes not sure if you mentioned it but the fake had a larger font on the fine print and logos were slightly larger than the real one. As well as the nickelodeon box is slightly larger on the fake and the nickolodean is centered on the fake where on the real one it is more on the bottom. The red outline on the fake is slightly larger for some reason. That is if im looking at the real one on the left as the viewer and the fake on the right. on the top and the bottom shot again the same things apart from the color is placement on the logo of nickelodeon on the top is more towards the bottom of the orange square. the fake is more centered like you said. and yea the warning signs were clearly different. Dont know why they didnt just buy one of each then scan them.

Since the knock-offs were based off of the SDCC exclusives and not the GameStop ones, the SDCC Donnie didn't have the little ties on the back of the strap for the bo either.

@@TheCollectionDimension The NECA SDCC exclusive cartoon Turtles 8-pack from '17. They then re-released them in 2-packs exclusive to Target. They were the very first (non promo art) cartoon accurate Turtles ever made. Plus, the first Shredder and Foot soldier made from the show since '88.

If your buying from ebay check their other items... If its all pennywise, Jason, predator then its prob fake. You can tell a real seller cause they'll have the whole neca selection and not just the ones on aliexpress etc

Man appreciate this! I bought my son the individual ones we bought a raph from Hong Kong and it was legit we got some off eBay that said they were legit but the tap along with the molds and paint were tell tale signs of fakes. Biggest thing I’ve noticed now after having a legit and a fake are the quality of plastics the legit are more a rubber and details are amazing. The fakes are that and pretty poor in all those aspects.

Yes definitely a difference in quality. I will be doing some more videos on the different ones they have made fakes for. Ya you can tell the difference between the bends in the arms and legs.

Damn those fakes are pretty good, the paint is obvious around the mouths as you pointed out but could easily be sorted with some modeling paints, i might get them, how long from china to UK for delivery do you think? 3 years? great video by the way just what i was looking for.

@@jamieelliot6881 good on ya m8.these figures are just so cool ive been asking my mrs for a year straight for them lol.(she gave in and is pre-ordering them for my xmas) i will cry when these are in my hands.was dissapointed that no new movie figs were shown at sdcc(except the shredder set).i heard rumours that tmnt2 movie figures were going to be there but it looks like nycc in oct will show 2 movie figures off(tokkah and rhazar) and the toyfair in feb will show of all the rest of necas turtles movie line.the new batman vs ninja turtles figures are cool too,especially the raphael figure.its so badass i must have it!!!! I MUST HAVE IT.......LOL

I saw these on ebay. I want to get the legit ones from amazon. But there ranging from $50 to $70 for single figures and like freaking $245.00 for the four pack. Yes if you buy from them they will be fakes ... buy from online stores like pop culture sells these legit turtles. 49.99,each. Or mightyape... dont buy fakes from wish and amazon.

@@toddjalane4192 well, if you're just a kid like me, or anyone who is not able to fork out $70 for each of a team of 4 figures, the knock off 4 packs seem like the best choice and the best deal. On Amazon, the two top sellers for these figures have terrible reviews like, "dont buy! Product never came." The only options are to buy each figure for $70 or higher. That is like all of my money. As long as these knock offs dont look like absolute garbage, I'm sure a lot of people can be happy knowing that they got their dream figures for the dream price.

Again, if someone gets those fakes for half less than honestly...probably worth it considering upon first glance you can't tell them apart unless you really pat attention and want to find the faults. Most people won't know unless you compare the two side by side lol. Now with the remake Cloud Strife I wanna get (yes, I was looking into a fake because the original is insanely expensive for such a small figure) the fakes look like absolute shit compared to the original. I guess the turtles faces are easier to make than an actual human face....

If you say you really cant see the difference then youre eyes are bad compare the faces every turtlefan sees straight away which are fake which not but okay for a real collector like me i need the original once

The indention from the neck to the chest plate are caved in alot more on eatch of the fakes from the real, just something I noticed

When looking at you comparing Leo I can see a lot of stuff you didn't go over that doesn't look right compared to the real. The sword holder on the back of the fake is crooked or warped looking. The detail in the front of Leo has the straight line down the middle and the 6 sections the lines make theirs no dark paint in those lines like the real ones.

Wow, just stumbled across this video. Now I'm wondering which one I get - but assuming that it was below EUR 100,- from ebay, I guess the fake ones. Although the description doesn't say anything that would give a hint that they are fake, even the brand says "NECA" in the description, compared to cheaper ones that say "XTELARY" for brand, as I checked now. I'm new to action figures but wanted to have those, as I'm a big Turtles fan. Let's wait for the box, it's on its way.

Hi everyone! Hm, got them now and I'm absolutely not sure if they are fake or not (as said, they did cost EUR 88,- ebay), seller is from China, but it was sent from Amsterdam, Netherlands. 1st) The tape at the edges seems to be the narrow one. 2nd) The box doesn't show any intended wear at all (the white lines that give the box the used VHS box look) 3rd) Spots seem to be very dark 4th) The paint job on Michelangelo's face is horrible, but the other ones are fine ... BUT! ... 5th) Michelangelo's eyes doesn't look left-up, they look pretty much straight, but also not as straight as in your video, maybe a little bit down. 6th) I don't see any "seam" on my ones, at least not that big ones like in your video - but maybe they just have improved quality on the fake ones? I'm wondering if I should send them back, but the seller only has good feedback and he also says (of course) that they are original ones. Anyway, I've ordered the singe ones (previously gamestop exclusive) as well and will compare them side-by-side. I will keep you updated (if anyone is interested :-D).

I bought the Original once on Amazon for 40 to 50 Euro each and i dont know but i hate if a brand wich brings Super figures is copied so badly and they lie to people selling those as original one Neca would never make such a horrible paint job and sell them as movie edition but fakers are everywher today even gopro or other brands are copied almost in every part but the quality is a bad joke if people say they dont see the difference or say they are similar than they all need glasses.

my fake turtles came with their legs very loose at the waist. Can anyone give me a tip on how to fix it?

I seen a tip before, they put a dab of glue in the joint and pop the leg back in it. once they popped it back in the hole they just keep moving it around until it dries. You have to keep moving it around though. But please dont take my word for it lol. Look it up on youtube, they have tutorials on it.

Ya the reason for that is because I'm trying to misprint to look for when someone is purchasing to make sure they dont get screwed and buy the fake an pay authentic price. For the real version I already made a figure by figure close up on each one of your interested. Thanks for watching

I got duped on ebay.. I got fooled by some seller from Hong Kong.. I had bought only the Raphael figure.. it turned out to be fake.. the paint, finish, plastic quality everything was off.. I wish I had seen this video before purchasing..

Wow, I have the real ones but man....how on earth were these guys able to do such an amazing knockoff job? I mean damn, other than that line they look identical. The sculpts are freaking perfect! Wth...and I got the EB/Gamestop ones but on my mike his nunchuks are not double stringed.

to be honest, these are pretty easy to fake (compare to Bandai products); all China factory has to do is to take the real parts, take it apart, and make the molds out of it. Given that majority of the neca or hasbro ML are not complex at all, they are very easy to do for these factory, some knock off factories can even do 3D scanning which is why some KO are pretty garbage, but some KO are actually decent. with the better KOs, the difference comes down to paint and the material those factory can source. as far as the nunchuks, it is neca we're talking about. the QC is pretty garbage IMHO. in my real SDCC set my Mikey came with the turtle shell crooked to one side and upon inspection, the ball peg connecting the shell to the torso is not even in the peg hole. i had to pop the torso off after heating it up with hot water to fix it. oh yea, the nunchuk strings on mine just broke off from the crap super glue the turned the string hard and fragile. i modified it with bendy wire.

That's cause you got the 2nd release set from GameStop. They changed up more than a few things with that new batch. Like with Mikey's chuck string being a single black bendy wire, and not the two strings. Or how they're eyes are glossier/realer...but the mold detailing this time around is softer.

@@Chalor. Well, I'm not complaining I mean these damn turtles are some of the coolest items I own and I ain't even into toy collecting haha but I just knew I had to have these. I think the nunchuck change was prob from the better as they more than likely realized the original strings were not ideal and broke easily.

to the untrained eye they might look good, i own the real ones i can tell you its like night and day in terms of detail and paint quality, look at Mikey's eyes for god sake, they aren't even looking in the right direction, if you want something to stick on a shelf and look at from a distance they might work for you, if you want a piece of art and the craftsmanship that goes with that then pay more and get the real ones

@@kiely4561 Actually, watching this video again I am noticing that the spots on the fake turtles are way too dark and stand out too much. Yeah, the painting is overall worse quality for sure. And I'm looking at my Mikey up close right now while comparing the close up mikey shot fake version in the vid and the mould indeed sucks in the fake version. Crooked eyes and snout....yeah I'm seeing the differences now. Damn, I don't know what I was saying before or thinking wtf. You're right, I guess upon first view and to an untrained eye they look good at first until you start really paying attention. I'd be annoyed by these fake turtles.

Honestly after watching this video im going to buy the 4 pack of the fake ones. I'm not a major collector I just want some detailed figures of turtles to display and these cheap ones look really good.
