Keep it real and you will make it - being consistent on the platform helps a lot. Sponsors are so much smarter now than a couple of years ago and have caught on a lot to the swerves creators using. To be 100% honest, we learned of the services for gaining views and subscribers during a meeting with a sponsor. We were shocked at some of the channels that were doing that!

I only watch channels that provide content I find useful. Most RV oriented channels rely on "click bait." A tell-tale sign is constant negative headlines. "We we're quitting RV'ing," "Frame Flex Disasters," "Don't let the dealer take advantage of you" "The biggest scams RV'ers fall for".....you get it

Honestly I never clued in on the drama or the fake narratives that were being propagated until I caught your channel and there was a heated debate going on with another channel I was a fan of. It did not take me long to step out of the darkness into the light. Since then I have dropped watching those channels. I have always been a down to earth person and don’t care for fake people. Life is way too short for that. Thanks for flipping the light switch and me and the wife hope to be joining you soon. 17 months and counting. Long live the lettuce heads who know how to enjoy life.

Our personal "enemies" (stronger word than I should have used) are the same people that had some things to say about your collective mental health some time back. Not just because of that but because they are fear mongers and we hate that. We considered not mentioning something in our most recent video because we were thinking it might alienate some of our subscribers. Then we collectively said "screw that". If we lose subscribers, so be it. They weren't our people anyway. This is the type of content that the RV community needs more of. Good on ya!

We look at subscriber numbers maybe once a month if that. We only want people that want to be around for us being us. Too many tubers fake who they are just for cash or “fame”. Personally that seems just sad to us. We love you guys for keeping it real - KZfaq is a long term project, ones that take shortcuts ultimately fail.

Once you realize that in the RV segment there are literally thousands of channels and you are only presented with by approximately 3% from the algorithm- it makes sense.

Hi Bob and Kerri, we are Dawn and Jim and we are about to embark on the RV life full time. We are currently selling our Florida home and heading back to Michigan to get our home there ready to sell. Jim is a 22 year combat Army veteran with a few combat related medical issues. He has been to more countries than states and instead of sitting in Florida all winter long we want to travel and see this great country he has provided freedom for . We are excited yet somewhat nervous and apprehensive and watch your content and feel more at ease about it all. We also want to document our trials, tribulations and great adventures and want to do it through KZfaq. Honestly we watched all of the big channels present their glamorous videos and amazing adventures portrayed by so many , but soon realized, as you both have so graciously presented, that they are all about the all mighty buck. If our channel grows so be it …we want it to be a hobby. We know you are very busy with you regular jobs and your channel, but we would love to pick your brain about starting rv life and about starting a KZfaq channel. We are not going into any of this blind, we have been watching everything we can to go into this better prepared. LOL, agree. I had a sponsor for those doggie car seat covers do that. They wanted to send me a script, a list of shots they wanted all sorts of steps. It was 7 steps long and then they wanted to approve the video before I posted. I said nope. Not a chance for a $100 seat cover. I did see another KZfaqr with it in there vid promoting and I laughed. They were much bigger channel too!

As a person who was born and raised in NYC, the Rockefeller tree always was magical and enormous to me. But after watching your video, I had to think I about perspective and it had me literally crying laughing out loud. Of course that tree looks massive to a city girl like me, who never really ventured out side of NYC. when most (maybe exaggerating a bit) but most of America has Rockefeller sized trees in their back yards 😂😂😂. That’s why we are excited to enter our new journey to RVvlife. (Not full time) but most timish. We need to get out of nyc

You mentioned lettuce made me think of this tip. If you wrap a head of actual lettuce in aluminum foil it will last a long time and not spoil. Had some last a month that way. Ps you are one of the best real channels out there thanks

I feel you guys have a great channel and your honesty and integrity seem to show and is much appreciated. That's what I want to do when I start my channel. If possible I would like to speak in private via email or whatever. I have asked other channels about starting my own and things like do I need to trademark the name and various variations of my channel and other stuff, but I never really get an answer. Possibly because they get some many messages they can't read them all or maybe they don't want to upset the YT Gods, etc. Anyhow, great video.

Thanks for the kind words. Honestly, most won’t help because they view EVERYONE as competition. They feel that if you learn how to do it, it could affect their revenue. Usually these are the same ones that promote “positivity” & “community” and have large meetups - go figure 🤣 Shoot us an email- we will gladly answer what we can. Ah, that is the million dollar question! Pay attention to who you watch and remember videos are made for general audiences and not their subscribers! Easiest way is when all the videos come from inside the rig or the same place each time

Gotcha😀 We keep things simple, cameras are a go-pro 10 & a Sony ZV-1. For merchandise we use Teespring. Honestly we sell a ton of stickers but don’t look at ourselves as big enough for merchandise so we really don’t promote it. Kansas is on our list but most likely will be in 2025. Hmmm... @liferedisgned we really enjoy watching your channel. Didn't know you didn't like us and feel we are fake. Disappointing since you asked us awhile back to try and collaborate but we were swamped due to building our RV. Sorry you feel that way. As to the commenter we will never apologize for our faith and what God has done in our life. We share our journey a lot. You can even see a documentary we did 8 years ago when we were in bad tines... search One Lucky Penny Documentary. We believe in doing things together on the road with others... that's it and we don't understand what makes it so bad to build friendships. Look at our Crew Campouts held across the United States usually 10 to 20 rvs. Why? Community... cost $10 an rv. Covers some of our insurance. AND some other KZfaq Channels are hosting them... why? Because it's not about the Todd & Sheila show... RV Life was supposed to be about memories and making new friends. So... if anyone feels we are being fake or our goals are to big.. we simply ask to contact us... have a conversation or come to one of our events. We will still watch and support you guys because I, Todd... actually enjoy your raw edge even if you don't agree with us. If we are ever in same area hope to say Hi. Keep making content and sharing your views. We are sure at some point we will give you something else to talk about... bahahahaha... Have fun.

I've never been a big fan of that channel. What really put me off is when they started charging money to see the videos about how they got their $600k rig. I guess they needed the money to pay for all of that.

@rleha7788 Totally fair to feel that way. We get it and have heard many feel the same way. The only videos we decided to do a series on is the build. We have a number of sponsors for 1 year. So they wanted to do giveaways as well. The last time we did that we were hit with dozens of spam bots telling people they have won trying to scam people. We hatched the idea. Pay for a really good editor to do a really well done series. Make an immediate value when someone signs up. So $15 join feature they received basically all their money back in free stuff. Then held a weekly giveaway for sponsors to those that paid giving away 1000,s of dollars of stuff. We paid for a couple to come to our Huddle in Mexico even. Thus... sponsors were honored. No spam bots and a great series. April 1st that ends and all those videos released for free as normal on our channel for everyone to see. We still made videos every week for free. So we tried something different. Was it a good idea? Some say no... but yet... most KZfaq Channels have a JOIN feature people pay to support a channel and that is acceptable with EXTRA videos as a perk. That is really all we did. Appreciate you sharing. Just wanted to share the reasoning. A lot of the money actually went to the person we paid to edit the documentary series. It seems sometimes when we try something new it challenges the norm... that isn't always appreciated. We learn... we adjust and get better. That's why we like LifeResigned honesty even though they don't agree either. Thanks.

@@rleha7788 valid points- when we negotiated with our sponsors to get discounts and free products for our viewers we made the call to protect their free products a bit behind a paywall- maybe could have done that differently. We are learning - tried something different but to ask Matt to give away maybe 30,000 bottles of Liquified to all who watched seemed like a big ask. Live and learn and try again- thanks for watching while you did. We wish you all the best!

Being in our RV over the last 4 months have shown us how fake people are! It’s like MLM in a way. I’ve unfollowed so many! To add to it they have context creator courses now and meet up. They only like each other so if you are but a creator they don’t care about you being their friend. It’s making being a RVer horrible! Like who is really your friend anymore. To add to it they held a event and my daughter came back because they took 20 minutes to get the perfect shot before they did the event uh

We picked up on the stuff ! It took a bit ! But we see it ! Channel s making 6 k a month ! Just public record…. But they don’t really rv …. Paving new paths is one of them .

I stumbled on your channel because it appeared on my KZfaq feed a few days ago. I am not a subscriber, and I haven’t watched any of your prior videos. Consequently, I may have missed content that would put this video in the appropriate context. With all due respect, please take this comment from that perspective and from someone curious about what they may be missing. I have watched a handful of entertaining and informational KZfaq channels for several years. If the content is valuable, I keep watching, if not I move on to something else. After watching this video, I am embarrassed to say I must be out of touch. That said, I may be watching or following different RV channels than you. Of the RV channels I watch, I haven’t felt any specific channel was misrepresenting themselves or presenting fake content. Indeed, some RV channels have developed a substantial following and subsequently garnered sponsor support and a degree of financial support from interested viewers. I don’t think that in and of itself makes them bad channels. Some RV KZfaqrs have even become “influencers” or “brand ambassadors.” If offended by that designation, why not elect to not watch their content? What is the purpose of “exposing” KZfaqrs you have deemed “fake?” I fail to see how that is useful to the RV KZfaq community. Ultimately, we should all decide independently about good versus lousy content and act accordingly. Again, I recognize I may be missing your point, and I apologize for that. I will sum up your question with a simple question. When you see an injustice in public, or someone being taking advantage of - does your belief system allow you to simply ignore it and watch someone else be taken advantage of?

Jenn and I like to watch them just for the fun of it. We like to see all the things they are peddling like people in a third world country trying to get a buck. We gave up on a few of them because every three minutes was another infomercial and a request to use their code for a cut. IT has gotten real bad now because they have over saturated the people that want to watch and not buy anything. From a couple that went from Tent camping to one in a camper, all the items they peddle are really not needed. we live on a minimalist life style in the camper now. life is easier without all the stuff.

Y'all say you do not care what other you tubers do, but you certainly spend a great deal of time inyour videos talking about others do. BTW, the Rockefeller Tree is 75-80 feet tall and is one of the largest public trees in the USA. We thought the tree was large. Your videos are great when you focus on what you do, not always talking about other you tubers

Sorry to disappoint you Ken but if nobody talks about these scammers then they get exactly what they want. We are committed to calling them out and exposing them. I will add that the tree in comparison to how demonstrated on television vs reality is accurate. Same can be said about Mt. Rushmore. 😂 we are far from the only ones to point this out.

I think what people are saying (us included) is the television representation vs physical reality are completely different. Same as with Mt. Rushmore. All about perception

Tired of the channels which pump out drivel 6-7 times a day and misrepresent facts. Better to put something that interests viewers rather than every time you get a coffee or go shopping. But, that doesn’t serve the algorithm masters well it appears.

Yes , I see a lot of them. As almost all Presidential elections end up with just a couple of percentage points of difference per candidate it's a safe bet that their are about 80 million people who may not agree with your choice. That's just reality.
