These are the final minutes of “Desperation”, the sixth season finale of 1981-90 CBS drama “Falcon Crest”. This was the 28th and last episode of the sixth season (and 155th overall). This marks the final appearance of Kim Novak, who played Kit Marlowe, as well as original cast member, Robert Foxworth, who played Chase Gioberti. The episode originally aired Friday, May 15, 1987.
The first scene involves Angela Channing (Jane Wyman) opening the letter given to her by Peter Starvos (Cesar Romero), who faces charges of murder of Ronald Saunders (Robert Stack) and is now fleeing with Kit Marlowe (Kim Novak) to Europe in order to escape prosecution. Tony Cumson (John Saxon), previously charged with the crime decides to join them. Back at the house, Angela continues to look at the letter Peter left her. Chao-Li (Chao-Li Chi) finds that Emma Channing (Margaret Ladd) has left her bedroom. He searches the attic and discovers Emma outside on the roof, threatening to kill herself by jumping off. Chao-Li runs off to get Angela, only to collapse from an illness and tumble down the stairs. In the letter, Angela discovers her first child, before Julia (Abby Dalton) and Emma, thought to have died in childbirth, is alive. Richard Channing is Angela’s son!
The second scene involves Richard Channing (David Selby), Chase (Robert Foxworth) and Maggie Gioberti (Susan Sullivan) in pursuit of Melissa Agretti (Ana-Alicia), who has kidnapped Chase and Maggie infant son Kevin. Dan Fixx (Brett Cullen) catches up to her by motorcycle and tries to get her to stop the car, only to be knocked unconscious in the process. Richard, Chase, and Maggie have Melissa corned. As Melissa tries to escape, her car with Dan and the baby plunges into the San Francisco Bay. Chase and Richard both dive in while Maggie stayed behind. Chase manages to save Kevin and hands the baby to Maggie. Chase dives back in the bay for Dan and Melissa who are still trapped in the car. As Maggie holds the baby in her arms, four lives hang in the balance under water.
