Never put a strap or strap hook on the outside of the rub rail. They call it a ( Rub ) rail for a reason. Also put a half twist in the straps and the won't sing in the wind.

The rub rail is not meant to be secured to it straps you go through and rail just underneath the frame of the trailer that's the best way and the strongest the rub rail is nothing more than a piece of molding welded to the outside of the trailer is not as strong as hooking it right to the frame of the trailer yes one way is quicker than the other but is quick the best way NO it is not

If you will twist the straps on both sides about 2 twisting each side before install both sides on bottom trailer they want not flap in the breeze and cut them. Dot say that doesn’t affect the integrity of the strap.

you never use a rub rail to use as a securement, rub rails are there to protect the straps, always put straps inside the rub rail, some people should not mislead other people with wrong instructions

A incorrect statement the one person says about using straps already on the trailer is having new straps on the winches, even though they are new straps they are the buyers new equipment if one breaks in transit it can be claimed against the driver, so always use your own equipment to secure the trailer

Thats correct straps should not be attached to the rub rails. These were attached under the frame on the deck of the trailer.

Rub rail securement is highly not recommended at all , maybe for bungy cords , that depends how the inspector woke up in the morning or his money quota .

This was a very small division of the entire company. There is a lot more to it as to the failure of Falcon. The employees there cared greatly for each other however ownership had a different plan.
