GOOD EVENING AXOLOTS I see we are all here to witness the departure of mercy in humanity when confronted with the fear of mortality. for your daily dose of #entertainment
anyways hope you enjoy today's educational video on how to roundhouse kick an immortal snail in order to protect thy soul. Depending on what kind of "immortality" the snail has, one of my favorite solutions was to leave the snail in a vacuum. Although the snail has the inability to die or take damage, the muscles of said snail need oxygen to function, with the removal of oxygen, the snail will eventually be unable to move, even though it would still be alive. It would be as if you could see and feel your arm, but you would be unable to move it, as if it were suddenly impossibly heavy.

I feel like the one problem with all of these solution is that… you have to know where the snail is from the very beginning. If they’re hyper intelligent wouldn’t they just stay hidden from you until they manage to engineer a situation where they can touch you?

So the thought I had is like, what if instead of completely gaslighting the snail we only half manipulated it? Convince the snail of two things: 1. The type of immortality we're dealing with is immortality of the soul/mind as opposed to physical immortality (meaning we just become another person if we are in mortal danger) 2. I am not the immortal one, Dave from Accounting is. Now snail is chasing random other humans for the rest of forever and leaving you alone.

If you don't know where the snail is just hunch up in your home for long while and if ANY snails come by trap it in a box. If a snail starts rotting then it's probably dead so you can throw it away. If it doesn't rot. Trap it in a glass box and then seal the glass box with caulk. That way the snail can atleast see around and you might be able to convince it by the time the caulk/glass degrades or the glass gets broken.

Whenever I think of the snail scenario, I also always imagine it also being aided by Murphy’s Law on top of being immortal and super intelligent, so if there’s even the tiniest possibility of the snail escaping a situation, it will. You might glue it upside down, but the glue guy might have a heart attack and accidentally kick the snail free while dying.

This is why you personally cast a concrete tomb around the snail and bury it as deep as you can in a region that is actively depositing sediment (so it'll get buried more and more over time). Hopefully it'll eventually solidify into a rock but, if not you'll still have a few thousand to several million years before the material is eroded away.

Realistically, the snail could use your planning stage as advantage, maybe trick one of workers and attach to them when they aren't looking and they unknowingly bring the snail closer to you when they report they have lost sight of it. Also the snail could be picked up by birds and attach to planes , you guys underestimate the snail

For a rather expensive idea: Black Hole. No matter the amount of time, the snail will be unable to escape because of the large gravitational pull. A large star would work too, like shooting it into the sun. Stars may be a much more temporary solution, however, because supernovas can shoot it right back at you.
