#falkenwildpeak #allterrain #wintertire
3W stands for wear, wet and winter. It seems the Falken engineers were targeting northern climates with this tire. All-terrain (A/T) tires are designed to be the daily driver for off-road trucks and SUV’s, perfect for the weekend warriors and the guys on job sites where traction in loose rock, sand, snow and mud is just as important as good road manners on dry and wet pavement. The M&S rating gets you through the winter on these tires, unfortunately this four season driving also means you rack up a lot of kilometres. We need traction and a tire that wears well to protect our pocket book. Can we really have it all?

I’m from Minnesota where the winter is harsh, I’ll say My wildpeak did great without having to put in 4x4. I currently moved to Oklahoma and man does it rain alot down here. It’s super muddy but I’m happy to see my wildpeak perform like a beast without having to put in 4x4. I would highly recommend a set to anyone looking into A/T tires and for the price, you cannot beat!

I'm on my third set of at3w Falken tires and they perform very well even on my 2 wheel drive Chevy 1500! The mileage you get out of the tires is outstanding it's a 55000 mile warranty I've gotten over a 60000 on each set!

After much consideration I bought a set of (stock size) the P rated Falken A/T3W tires for my 2016 Tacoma over the venerable KO2's. After putting over 5k on these tires last year in Northern Idaho's winter all I can say is these tires performed better than I expected. In my mind they were better than the KO2's and cost a lot less.. The tires were awesome, my family and friends took note as I drove up and out of my sisters long driveway which was snow and wet ice. They were impressed enough to get a set for their Jeep the following week. I now have 25k on them and there's hardly any wear on them. They're extremely sure footed on wet roads too. Northern Idaho is a good test for these tires, they sure felt at home there.. Totally Love and trust them.

I put these on my ‘13 F150 FX4 in Aug ‘17 (now 16 months old and 13,500 miles). Love love love these tires!! I drive in central Ohio with big mix of hot summer temps, lots of rain, multiple snow & ice events, and occasional off roading on farm properties (wet sticky Ohio mud, rock, and grassy fields). These tires handle EVERYTHING all the time. I had dedicated mud tires to swap on if heading to the farm but... sold those tires/rims once I tested these tires and found they could easily handle lite off roading. I do drive 95% on roads and these tires are relative quiet, brake and grip very well even in wet, and have worn well so far. Other than I’ve rounded off the tires edges slightly but that’s due to my driving style and fact that my truck weights 6,000 pounds fueled! Overall, Great tire... will absolutely 100% buy them again!!! Note: I went with the 33” P275/60 R20 tire which contains the silica compound for better wet performance, that was the right choice for me and this truck I believe.

I live in Oregon and 2 years ago we had an ice storm to beat all ice storms. At the time I had plain old highway tires on my Nissan Pathfinder 4x4 and even in 4wheel drive I slipped and slid all over the place. The following summer I put a set of these tires on my truck even though my highway tires were almost new. I swore I wasn't gonna go through another winter sliding all over. Wouldn't you know it but the following winter we barely got a dusting of snow and no ice storms. Old man Murphy strikes again. Here we are heading into another winter and so far these tires have done great on every surface I have driven on and after a year and a half they still look new. Who knows, maybe we will get some snow this winter so I can see how they handle it. Love these tires and highly recommend them.

2 Weeks ago we got over a foot of snow in one day and then 2 days later we got an additional 6". Well, this happened on my days off so I saw no need to go anywhere but since it wasn't snowing when I parked it I didn't put it into 4x4. The snow was up to my bumpers and I had no room to roll so I rocked it back and forth until I was able to get on top of it. in 2x4. These tires did wonderful. In 2x4 I was able to fight my way out to the street where I could roll far enough for the front end to engage. After that I had absolutely no issues getting around. My best friend saw this and promptly went to America's Tire and ordered a set of these tires for her Hummer H3.

I just purchased a set of Falken Wildpeak A/T3W tires in 265/75R16 for my 2016 Nissan Frontier Pro4X. I live near Flagstaff, Arizona at 7,000-8,000 ft. elevation and we've had a heavy monsoon season this year. The tires have performed very well in heavy rain and also in the mud. I can't wait to see how they'll do in the snow this winter. On my old Frontier I had a set of BF Goodrich AT and those tires were awesome down in the desert on rocky trails. I hope the Wildpeaks will perform as well or better than the BFGs on the desert trails. Up near Flagstaff there are many forest roads with volcanic rock and the Falkens have never let me down, especially in the mud during the monsoon season

Got them for a week now. Love the look and massively increased handling of the truck (mitshi Challenger). Much better cornering and grip compared to the old "destinations". Also a huge increase in fuel consumption - from 12-13 Km/L down to 9=10 Km/L. I got the LT's and these are heavy tyres.

I just put a set of the non LT grade (4ply) AT3Ws on my JGC yesterday. I've only driven about ten miles on them on city roads, but the handling and stability improvement is very noticeable! I expect a slight drop in fuel mileage, but it'll be worth it. It's driven on road way more than off, but I'm hoping these tires will at least stand up to moderate off roading for things like hunting and exploring. I don't do Rock Climbing, etc. but I do have to travel some rocky, not boulders, NS/F trails, maneuver up shale hillsides and cross some streams, etc. occasionally. We'll see. My real off roader is going to be the Tacoma I just acquired. When I replace the tires on it, they'll be LT grade! It's like choosing right tool for specific job. They're great tires. My grandson has had them on his 02 Silverado for about 4 years now too!

Put these on my old f250 last winter 275/65r20 look great and perform too. Sold that truck this summer and bought f150 immediately bought a set of these for it 275/60r20. Dropped down a bit in size for a couple reasons. The 65s are a 10 ply E load rated and the 60s are a 4 ply. The bigger truck needed a more heavy duty tire but they are heavy in weight and harder to get balanced and harder on fuel. But they also don't wear as easy. But $ always has the final say, I went smaller because I didn't have the extra cash (new wheels too) and just wanted to get the tires on the truck as fast as possible. Love these tires! I'd but these every time, the only other ones that I'd even consider may be nittos but only if they were the same price. I don't usually review things but I can comfortably say if you are thinking about these then do it.

LT mean Light Truck. Usually 10ply. And "light truck" is referring to full size trucks, not rangers and Tacomas. But you can technically put them on whatever truck you want, people do it all the time. I just rather have a lighter and better ridding tire on my small truck.
@ruffxm
@ruffxm 4 жыл бұрын
@@headdownharris In addition to the other explanations, LT tires (Light Truck) have a higher load-bearing capacity. Tires are often the weakest link - if your truck has a load capacity of X pounds, the tires need to meet or exceed them if you're actually hauling that kind of weight.

Question, how would these fair on a NON 4x4 Grand Cherokee? I head to the mountains a good amount in the winter and would like a little extra something while driving up and being in mixed conditions. It isnt normally snowing hard core when I head up so this would be to help avoid needing chains all the time and roam land thats not paved/comletely even. I am also curious about durability as I drive a good amount in the City/Highway.

Well, this video has answered several questions that my conscience has burdened me with; if a Jeep Wrangler handled perfectly with the Falken Wildpeak AT3W tires, then my 2007 Ford F-150 XLT should handle itself with those tires, despite that I'd have to purchase a set that comes in size 265/70R17. I may have lost two different black hatchbacks in the past, but I don't plan on losing my forest green Ford pickup anytime soon nor at all; not a damn chance.

I was concerned about my trucks performance in the snow when I moved up to the mountains of NC. I was considering studded snow tires or chains but I've been very happy with how well I've been able to get around up here on the at3's in a 2wd truck. I highly recommend them for winter and they are very smooth and quiet on the highway pavement for a tire with such an aggressive tread pattern. Has anyone else had similar experience with these? I put a set of these on my 95 Jeep Cherokee Country last week...I did so cause of the reviews and the price I was quoted where I have the vehicle maintained...$114.66 each, mounted and balanced, and he threw in a T-Shirt from Falken...The ride is quiet and they stick to the road well...I can't say for any bad weather performance yet, haven't had any...Had a set of Kumho's A/T's that are no longer made and they were on for 6 years...Was an excellent A/T tire...As of right now, I have one major complaint with the A/T3w's, they have a very stiff sidewall and ya feel it...I had Goodyear R/T's and the Kumho A/T's and though it's a Jeep, there had it all over these Falken's for road comfort...All I can say is they best preform well in bad weather cause I'm not at all happy with the ride comfort from these tires...I also hesitated on Falken's period because of two family members that had different model on their vehicles and they just plain sucked...My daughters car was just plain dangerous in any type of snow and had to be towed or pushed several times...The other set rode like the ole bias ply in cold weather...They would get a flat spot on em and thump down the rode till they warmed up...Also not very secure feeling with them on snowy roads...Certainly the tread design appears as if it will dig thru snow, but I can also see where as they wear down, they may very well be like driving on hockey pucks as the sips wear away...Only time will tell...

If its the e10(10ply) LT it's going to ride ruff like you say, My 2010 Tundra came stock with BFG KO's in a e10 (10Ply) tread 3ply side wall and that road like steel wheels. The P tires have less ply's, which let them flex more over stuff on the road and off road, making for a softer feeling ride. I put this on the truck in a P type and love them, truck rides so much smoother than the BFG KO's.

I bought the "P" version specifically for its wet road capability and I have been impressed with their performance in this area. I have never had a better rain tire on any truck I have owned, they simply tract true and with no spinning of the wheels as they try and get traction - these tires are locked onto the road! Cornering and ride comfort are equally superior to most tires in this class and, in fact, I can recall none that are better. I have yet to get them in the snow, but all reviews I have read state that they do indeed excel here as well. An attractive looking tire that is priced well below the other leaders in its class, while offering the 55,000 mile warranty - how can you go wrong?
