NSW Police can choose whether or not they wear vests.

This was filmed in 2009/2010 - The vests have since been adopted, obviously, yet back in '09, they were being trialled & developed and weren't "general issue" at that stage of uniform dress code. Kind regards ✨️

But wait. I thought they made all guns illegal in Australia. So how did they get guns? I mean the law says no guns right?

No, you can still legally obtain guns for the purpose of hunting, target shooting, occupational requirements and more unlisted reasons, though if they're shooting at houses with the guns it's more likely the guns are illegally obtained.
