Video of our fall break camping trip travel to Pigeon Forge in our Prevost Motorhome Coach Bus. Started the trip off by seeing Harry Styles in Chicago then running back home, hoping in the bus and then heading down to Pigeon Forge. Ran into traffic the entire way, took 3-4 hours longer than it should have. Got up and then went to Deals Gap at the Tail of the Dragon. Then went through Cades Cove. After that had the bus washed and headed home. It was so cold I had to winterize the bus and then put in storage.

Sorry in advance. I wasn’t going to post this video, I didn’t like all my clips - a lot were missing as well. But, the trip was really nice - so I posted it anyway. Will have more videos coming - stay tuned for more.

We live in NC. The bus stays in a metal building that has blown insulation in the roof so we don't have to winterize. Just keep the basement heaters on 40 degrees and run the electric heaters in the coach at 40 and we are good to go. Nice review on Pigeon Forge. We are going to Gatlinburg Dec 1st for our anniversary. My Dad used to stay at Riveredge in Pigeon Forge many times in their American Eagle. Thanks again for the reviews. This Wanderlodge owner appreciates them.

Welcome, thanks for watching and commenting. Would love an insulated place. The nearest is downtown Indy for $800 a month - I think it would be better to find land and build a place for that. Hoping the weather is good for the last game - will try for a good video. I always get busy at work and home and then rush things.

Glad you decided to post this- wonderful footage of one of the most beautiful parts of the country. Our son was born in Raleigh, so NC will always have a place in our hearts. In fact, we plan to buy our own bus conversion next year and tour the US. Thanks for taking us along for the ride!

Thank you. Good luck on the conversion, that would be fun! I love that area as well, would be nice to get some land or a small home - perhaps this bubble we have been riding will deflate a little and bring prices back for the both of us!

It sure is! Last year it rained all but 1/2 a day we were there - this year was beautiful the entire trip. Because it’s so packed we said we’d never go back (packed areas anyway) but wasn’t to bad - might be an annual trip!

Haha. That bike was awesome! I went last year and rented a BMW1200GSA and loved every minute of it. You guys have an awesome “back yard”. Be careful and thanks for commenting! I said that hoping people would know I was being sarcastic- let alone someone watching that knew him! Small world!

We’re a little different for sure from most…LOL…living in SE Tx we head N during the winter…yeah yeah…LOL. Headed up to Ohio 12-17-22 for a couple days and on back down by a big circle…Kentucky / Tennessee till New Years and then back home to Houston to call it till spring. We Love The Dragon…Friends from Corbin go out every weekend. They also race motorcycles…so good practice for them. About 99% they were there somewhere

We're you ever worried about those low hanging power and communication lines?
@CampPrevost
@CampPrevost Жыл бұрын
Yes! Bad assumption but hoping they are at least 13’6” - I’m 13’4”. So if a semi can make it so can I. If it’s more rural - I’d probably stop. Can get into trouble really quick. Most of the time it’s tree branches - which scratch but allow me to get through. A cable - show stoppers for sure!

Do you use RV antifreeze at all ? My dad did both ,air compressor and he would pump RV antifreeze in the lines . He had a ice cube maker in the fridge that gave him problems. So he started to go with the antifreeze also . Do you leave the coach dry at the football games ? Happy trails .
@CampPrevost
@CampPrevost Жыл бұрын
I use antifreeze as well - although just in the drains. The way it’s plumbed I can’t get it in. I believe with just a little bit of work, a few connectors, valves and ports - I could redo that plumbing bay to make winterizing really easy. My storage unit has a dump station, so I put water in it and then drain before storing. Although pending weather, I may just leave it dry this time - but if really bad weather, I may just leave it in storage. It’s clean, winterized and hibernating right now - don’t really want to pull it out unless we will use it and have fun. It’s Indiana - could be sunny and 80 in two weeks!

How much do you think you spend on maintenance on an annual basis. Nearing retirement, and considering this as a post retirement hobby! I kind of like late 90's early 2000's non slide prevost conversions, but am really open to just learning!@ Thank you for your content.
@CampPrevost
@CampPrevost Жыл бұрын
That is a good question. These are like airplanes, kind of what you want to spend. Everything put in these is top of the line - so when it comes time to replace or upgrade, your faced with - put in the newest top of the line, find an exact replacement or ?? I have been trying to balance it. Tires by 5-6 years old, then I put on hankook instead of Michelin - 700 vs 1000 each. You could do oil changes but they are about $600 to have done. My storage is close to $300 and it’s unheated! They are like a second home, so you can put as much money in upgrades as you want and not even hit maintenance. Depends on what you are buying. Something neglected for years or something kept up. I think something in between is fun so you have something to do :). I would think as long as the paint is in great condition (unless you want to repaint it) just look over everything and understand what needs replaced or could be replaced. I think I have original air bags and brakes. I think they are coming next year just to stay in front of it - they could last another 10 years. Probably need bushings replaced in the suspension along with shocks. Doing all the fluids in one of my videos was around $4k along with a visual of the underside. Probably only need oil, oil filter and fuel filter changes now for a long time. My windows are starting to fog but don’t leak. So they are on the list but just cosmetic. Have to understand what it’s worth as well vs costs to keep up. Sometimes it makes since to pass along the upgrades / maintenance to someone else! Doesn’t really answer your question but at a minimum would need oil changes, watch the tires, aqua hot service, generator service and don’t forget about running it at 6.5 mpg regularly! Hope that helps.

Do you store your bus in a garage? Or outside?
@CampPrevost
@CampPrevost Жыл бұрын
Neither. I keep it in a large storage warehouse - it the only enclosed place anywhere close. It has concrete floors, power and secured entry (could rent a hole for the same cost!). When I bring it home to work on or prep for a trip, she sits in my driveway.
