Love the horn in the tunnel! Great tradition my Dad would do that as well. We're noticing the smooth roads of Ca. We just drove from Pa to NY's beautiful wine country stopping at a Blue Beacon to wash off all of the pollen. Driving in the springtime after winter's frost is similar to watching the lunar rover! Thanks for taking us along! Brendan & Lena

Back around 1988. I rented a car at the airport. And I drove. From San Francisco down to Los Angeles. Along the Coastal Highway. Oh My God how Gorgeous! Every stop just took my breath away. I was in paradise! That is one of the worlds greatest drives! A1A in Florida. From Fort Lauderdale down to Key West. Also a lovely drive. Just as long. It's a couple of hundred miles away. In the middle of the ocean. Along the highway you can drive. But if there is a truck accident. You may come to a stop. Elevated above the water. For the next, 6 hours or more. It happened to me. I lost an entire day on the bridge. We were all stuck. Women were freaking out. Nice owners of RVs and motorhomes. Opened up their restrooms to the women. The guys did it the other way. Over the rail. Other people broke open their coolers. And shared their refreshments with others. It was quite a gathering with us all. I have some beer. I shared with others. We figured we would be getting out of there, by morning. And that's when we got out. We were on the elevated highway, all night long. Until they could drive up in the wrong direction with a gigantic wrecker. And rescuing it and the driver. From falling below into the drink. That was quite a process to watch. And the days before camcorders. It was 1979. My 24 hour trip to Key West. Allowed me to turn around at the next Key. And head back home. That was a total bust. A fascinating experience. I really don't want to repeat. At least nobody got hurt. And happened about 300 yards in front of me. It was a good walk up that way. But we were going nowhere for a while. So everyone was out of their vehicles and milling about. It was like a block party. Without the party. A sad, party. Nobody got anywhere that night. There were hundreds of people on that coastal Highway with us. It all came to a halt. Others were fortunate and could turn around at the previous Key. But I saw cars as far as the eye could see. It was a mess. And would cause a huge sudden influx. Into the lower Keys. I'm glad I was going home. I was exhausted. I was up all night. Stream of consciousness. I didn't know I was conscious? Wonderful video! Being from San Diego, we've traveled those roads on the central coast a lot! When you started talking about a rest area about two hours into your drive, I knew exactly what was going to happen and was trying to warn you by yelling at my computer! That same rest area caught us by surprise towing our trailer the first time we went there - had to go right through it (funny thing is we'd been there in our car some time before that and should have known). Have fun on the central coast - it is, in my opinion, one of the finest areas the state has to offer.

Rodents are no joke. We had our RV stored in an RV storage facility during winter. We checked on it every week or two. During one of our checks we discovered rats and mice did $25k worth of damage to our brand new RV. Getting it fixed was a nightmare in and of itself.. We now do every precaution possible to prevent mice and rats into our RV. Gut wrenching and heartbreaking experience.

Absolutely, some of the best views in California are right where y'all are. From PMB we've actually taken our rig (all 53' including toad) along the PCH (1) to San Simeon (Hearst Castle), then to Monterey, to Santa Cruz. One of the most beautiful drives in the whole world! But, we couldn't pull into any of the state parks along that route do to our rigs height and the narrow drives and low hanging branches over the park roads, especially Pfeiffer Big Sur and Pfeiffer Beach. Mark and the RV Mouse would make a great children's book! I can picture Mark with latex gloves up to his elbows, with a hazmat suit and full-face oxygen respirator mask ☣️😂! Keep the journey going guys and the great videos! Cheers! 🍷

Castaic always looks better in the rear view mirror. I've lived (ie: been traped") here for 20 years now, so I can say that from experience. It's only those weekend escapes to Ventura that keep me ( more or less) sane .

Hello there. My wife and I enjoy your channel. It's especially difficult to find one that's not so techy has to turn her off but precise enough to apply to us when we go out on our not full-time RV journeys with our 34 ft Diesel Pusher. Well you recently shared a video where you listed the dash cover as an essential that you would buy another one in a minute if that one was damaged or lost. Maybe I didn't pay close attention maybe I didn't read the website very well but I ordered hours and I love it it's gorgeous but it has this massive rubber backing and weighs quite a lot. I think it will sit on the dash perfectly. The problem is my wife has an allergy to latex and that is a latex form of rubber and it emits massive volatile odors. Ours came with a black heavy rubber latex backing and if yours is the same I wonder how long it sits up there before that odor goes away because I would be happy to put it out on the table in the sun if I thought that odor would age out of there

We have the ShadePro dash carpet. We do not remember the smell at all,.....but I would bet that it did. It has virtually no smell now. Can't tell you how long it may have to out gas. Let it bake in your tow vehicle and/or storage basement,......or at home. I wouldn't want to get it wet. It really helps to keep things on the dash put, and is great for pets. Good luck!

My old dash camera (June 2017) was a VicoVation OPIA2, which I was very satisfied with, but I thought I could get a better one now. I checked to get an updated VicoVation, and saw that they do not make Dash Cams anymore. It was recording in 1080P. File size was manageable. I just bought a new NextBase 622GB with the rear cabin camera and it is better than my old camera ONLY when I record 4k. This means every 3 minutes of video is 1GB. This will kill me with storage space costs. And this is only the front camera. I am still working to get the happy medium of file size and quality. Personally,.......I don't recommend it yet. Try something else.

Driving a class A air-ride Newmar diesel pusher, with a steerable tag is easy as pie. You just need to take things slow, and rely on your travel partner spotter. We wouldn't want to travel any other way, except maybe a Super C because it is safer in a crash by a LARGE, LARGE margin. If you buy a rig, try to stick with NIRVC whether it is new or used. You will thank yourself for doing this when you start to run into the inevitable "issues" that can come up. THEY WILL HAVE YOUR BACK.

We see within reason, the costs can be driven down quite a bit by selecting the right equipment to RV in, and to stay at RV parks a month at a crack to get the best rates. We are tourists, and are essentially on an extended vacation all the time. We started saving for this in 1983.
