Mary, you're amazing! I can honestly say that I've never washed the inside of our garage door; I've swept it with a broom, but never washed it. I'll definitely be washing it now. It's the little things, isn't it. Thank you, Mary. You are indeed an inspiration!

What a delightful video, Mary. I especially liked that you cared enough about the birds on your property that when they were acting differently you took time out of your busy day to check on them and make sure they were okay. So kind! A week always seems so long to wait for your next video, but I'd rather have one a week than none. 🙂

I have over wintered geraniums several times. I dig them out , put them in a pot and trim them down. I put in my basement and try to remember to water them at least twice during their confinement ! Then in late March I put them in the garage and water a bit more. Once it gets to about 40, I put them outside during the day but bring them in overnight until it stays consistently nice. ........sounds like a lot but really isn't :)

My mother always over-wintered her geraniums inside a cool room, then replant in Spring after last frost. They always thrived. She also rooted cuttings in small glasses on a windowsill to start in Spring and would gift many to family and friends. I hope yours will be successful also. Nice job on the Fall clean-up. 👍 Now you're one step closer to being ready for Winter.😊

I have kept geraniums in brown paper bags then into a dark cool place. I was amazed at how they came out in spring. The only problem was that they were a a bit scrawny but if I kept trimming them they really came back to pretty geraniums.

I was going to try to over-winter a few things this year, too. The prices of plants these days is getting too high for me on a fixed income now. I would love to have a greenhouse, but my husband isn't as skilled with building things as yours is. Well. you have inspired me to go work in my yard today, trim up my lavendar and plant my daffodil bulbs. Thanks Mary!

We just had our first frost here in VA too! Although we’re in coastal Va, we drive up every year on our anniversary too see the foliage in the blue ridge. This year is 28! God never fails in His beauty!

That antique plant stand also makes for a pretty cake stand (until such time that you’re finished with guests and transfer cake to cake container for freshness).

I really enjoyed your tour of the Holmes County countryside. My father sold seed to the Amish farmers in Holmes County around Dundee and other vicinities and as a kid I would ride with him to make deliveries to the farms in our "big truck". Your video reminded me of riding along on those winding roads and scenic byways. What a great memory you brought back. We lost Dad in January of 2022, but this brought back times of some of my fondest memories with him going on these trips and staying at our Amish friend's homes. Love it Mary!!

I live in California and I’ve never had to remove the geraniums. I didn’t realize you couldn’t just leave them all year long in colder climates. We do get freezing temps where I live but they are usually just in Jan-March. But then spring shows up and all the perennials just start to pop out. Little surprises all over the garden. 😉

I use "Wet it and Forget it" or "Krud Kutter" to power wash our siding. I keep a microfiber sponge (for car washing) on an extension handle to hit any spots that need extra attention.

You sure keep busy and you do a fine job of keeping up with your property. Looks so nice and peaceful. You must get up at the crack of dawn to do so much. I do miss the colors of the fall season but I do not miss the harsh, cold winters. I live in South Texas and our planting season has just begun. I got outside last weekend and did some cleanup including my patio area. Happy fall y'all.

We, in midwest Michigan, had our first hard frost on Monday. Still get a lot of rain. However, yesterday was beautiful! Temps were in mid 70's!

I have shaken thr dirt off geraniums hung them upside down in the basement, misted them monthly and replanted them. Bloomed beautifully!!

Great video! I overwinter my geraniums too. I staple the paper bag closed so bugs, spiders, etc do not invade the geraniums.

Mary, you have the cleanest property in Ohio, I'm sure. I loved the ride thru Amish country. I used to l8ve in Lexington Ohio and we would drive to your beautiful area a lot. I live in Amish country now in southern Indiana but it's not quite as picturesque as your area. Our Amish are Old Order so they don't have slow moving vehicle signs or blinking lights on their buggies. Love your videos.

Ahhh, beautiful Amish country. It always looks so peaceful. Thank you for taking us there! You have a lovely collection of houseplants, Mary. Actually, the best time to repot your plants is the spring. Plants don't grow that much in the winter and the added soil could become too saturated for their roots. So sad that you had to pull out your catmint. I keep mine under control by cutting it right back after the first flowering. The bees love catmint.❤ Happy autumn to you!

I have one of those little handheld trimmers, and I absolutely love it!! So much better than using the big heavy trimmers….. also, I overwinter my geraniums and all I do is bring my pots in that they’re in during the summer, and leave them in my sunroom. I don’t do anything with them after that. They lose their leaves, for the most part, when spring comes, then I start watering them and set them outside. They’re beautiful every year. A few of my geraniums, I’ve had for about 10 years ❤ I’m in zone 5b

Hi Mary, I see you have a Copper Harbor, MI sweatshirt on. I am from Michigan and I've been to Copper Harbor in the U.P. as well. Isn't it a beautiful place? I enjoyed the ride through Amish country. Everything is so beautiful. Here in Michigan, the color is at peak, a lot like Ohio. I really enjoy your outdoor videos and can't wait until spring to see more of your gardening videos. Thank you for the fall drive In Holmes County. I had plans for doing that very thing last week but my husband fell on Oct 5 and broke his hip. He is home following surgery and rehab but it is keeping us close to home for a while longer. Your videos are always one of my Wednesday pick-me-ups.

I have been following you on KZfaq for quite some time and love what you do. Watching the videos of you going into town or driving around the area, made me want to go to Holmes county and in September after I finished converting my van I went. It is so beautiful there. I stayed at Timberline campground in Walnut Creek for two nights and explored the area during the day. At the campground and at “The Farm” when I was asked what brought me here, I said it was watching you. Everyone knew you and if I would have asked, I think I could have gotten the directions to your house😁😁. Everybody seems to know you. You are definitely an ambassador for Holmes County and I will be back to discover more of the beautiful rolling green hills

When I lived in Baltimore I used to pull my Geraniums and do exactly what you said but I had better luck the next Spring if I potted them indoors to get them started back. Some that I put outside made it, some didn't; maybe 60/40. Indoor restarts really made the difference.

I love your videos. Thank you for the fall Cleanup in your yard. I need to do mine. when you were taking your plants inside, I noticed I had a few of them. I have the spider plant, and it never had any babies until I watered it with boiled egg water (cooled, of course). Now it is full of babies. My girlfriend lived in the Hocking Hills and I visited her there it was beautiful.❤

This is my first time pulling geranium plants to keep in paper bags for the winter. I have orange ones and white ones. I wrapped orange yarn around the base of the orange plants and white around the base of the whites. I also took some cuttings from the orange but no roots yet. I might pot them up soon and see how they do.
