I'm actually so tired of how they are handling the show. Can they give us something new? Can they give us character arcs? Marinette is the same. Adrien is the same. Nothing has changed and I'm just tired. This special was entertaining, but there was no heart in it.

Miraculous is proof that more isn't always better. More episodes doesn't matter if the characters don't or barely develop and the relationships don't change.

besides this “special” i’m still upset about how they did chloe dirty. literally she was actually becoming a better person and was actually NICE at one point. but they threw her character development out the window like “oh chloe is becoming toooooo good, let’s just make her forget she was trying to change in the first place!!!” i literally stopped caring about the show after that

I feel so bad for Kagami, imagine seeing the look of the poor girl's face after realizing that her first ever friend and crush are dancing in the moonlight without even telling her. And yes, in one of Thomas's tweets it was clear that they were dating.

I heard the voices are like that because the movie was literally rushed, like the voice actors got no time to warm up their voices considering they haven't voiced the characters in a while and were a bit rusty. Then they just tried to fix it in post.

When they first showed Marinette and Alya walking into the same hotel room as Chloe and Sabrina I have a spark of hope because I thought that Marinette and Chloe were gonna bond. But then I remembered that Chloe was supposed to be the villain *AND WE CAN’T HAVE THE VILLAIN BOND WITH THE PROTAGONIST IN A WAY THAT WILL REMIND PEOPLE THAT SAID VILLAIN IS STILL A HUMAN BEING WITH MULTIPLE EMOTIONS AND THOUGHTS AND NOT A ONE DIMENSIONAL PRODUCT OF POOR PLOT WRITING, C A N W E ?* Needless to say I’m not surprised that they didn’t show anything with Chloe and Marinette nor the random crush between Sabrina and the other guy. I’m just gravely disappointed.

Can we talk about the fact that Marinette and her friends are all horrible people in this movie. They actively try to be home- wrecker-like people. Adrien and Kagami are in a relationship, they even kissed in the movie, so it's official. What kind of friends would want to destroy the relationship of their friend?

What they did with Chloe really pissed me off. They really just threw her development in the trash last episode. I would've loved to see Chloe and Mari bond. And how they completely missed the opportunity for Mari to get over her creepy obsession with adrien in this special. Im just waiting for there to be an episode where it shows what happened to adrien's mother.

I am more angry and frustrated with the creators of a show. It is not just because they are a lot of teens and adults that like it, but the fact it is kids who like this. Kids really deserve better than the same thing a thousand times. I want Marinette to grow as a person and learn from her actions. I want Adrien to become more than a sidekick and have times where he could have a smart idea once in a while. And for the love all things holy, I want a story that is going to give it time that it deserves, and in the end it will make you happy and satisfied. But I am not seeing it with this show. And that is why like me and many people who saw this, is going to make these characters what they deserve - thanks for hear my Ted talk

I honestly thought that because marinette was trying to get over adrien in the beginning something new and exciting would happen with the relationship dynamic. Immediately when I saw the door and sky dance scene I knew nothing would change.

They made their voices deeper to show "growth" between the characters to make them more "mature."

Why didn't adrien just showed lady bug who he is if he is just gonna give up his miraculous? Like they kept babbling About " Nooooo we cant know eachother were superheroes!" Like what if you give up being a super hero cant you show your identity to someone you fought side by side with for years? Well actually even if that happens, the show will just forget that ever happened in the first place so nvm...

This movie was very rushed and made no sense.There is one gaping loop whole in the movie that destroys the show:The old dude chose marintte and Adrain to be superheroes because they were nice and the best person to pick.But it there SO MANY OTHER REAL SUPERHEROES WITH ACTUAL HERO EXPERIENCE WHY NOT ASK ONE OF THEM AND SOME DUMB TEENAGERS

The new superhero designs were so unoriginal and obviously just a copy of marvel and dc superheroes, It’s hilarious.

At this point I don't really care about Marinette and Adrien's relationship , I actually liked Adrien's plot , we got to see his abusive relationship with his dad and how it affects him , as a psychologist its really disappointing to see how the fandom doesn't even notice Adrien's Mental health problems even if the creators didn't intended him to have them , but the consequences of the emotional abuse and neglect from his father are really easy to spot in this special. I just want Adrien to go to therapy and marinette to just get over him , he keeps calling you a friend , just get the hint already lol

I remember my little brother getting so confused over Knightowl and Sparrow, like 'Why do these two girls look like boys but are girls, when all other girl superheroes look like girls?'

Am I the only one who is upset that they believe a plane can’t fly with only one engine just fine so this whole scene is obsolete and just makes me mad and gives people a wrong impression and Potentially making them scared of flying since the target audience is quite young and they would believe that? Here's a list of things that triggered me in this movie aside from things mentioned in your video: 1) Marinette stealing a bike She's not the police, she cannot confiscate somebody else's vehicles, even when she needs that :/ 2) Cat being a scapegoat AGAIN 3) The door scenes' cringe 4) Alya being a bad friend and instead of helping Marinette in getting over her crush, pushing her right into his arms just because (and that really hurts me cause Alya always was like the best, supportive and intelligent girl) 5) things being overdramatic 6) the eagle kwami is super cute but its power is useless in battle 7) the end is almost the same as in Avengers -_- 8) Aeon? (Idk, the robot girl) keeping saying "they're made for each other" I mean, how _bad_ are you in writing romance that you have to make some character _SAY_ "tHeY arE MaDE FoR EaCh oTHeR", and MULTIPLE TIMES?! Especially when I see something exactly opposite? -_-

This show has SOOO MUUCH POTENTIAL, I just believe that they need to actually start realizing that and put more effort into their episodes and the quality of them. Also, they need to make Marinette less creepy..

Ngl this movie was not what I expected. I knew there would be some type of focus of the love square but I didn't know it would be THIS messy. Like honestly, there were so many touchy subjects happening all at once, there's no way they didn't know this would be a problem.

A thing that I hated is that Marinette could have a arc, she could get over Adrien and focus on something different But no!!! We have to throw all in garbage. It is clearly at this point that the creators don't want to change. And you know why? If they change they have to create an arc, create a complex story. They can't.

After watching this, I feel disappointed that I enjoyed watching it. I saw all of the things that were wrong with the special, but looking at it all in it's entirety, it just.....sucks.....what disappoints me the most is the Chat noir stuff, I was too surprised and happy that "OMG THEY'RE MAKING HIM FEEL GUILTY AND LIKE HE'S NOT CONTRIBUTING OMG HE'S GIVING UP HIS MIRACULOUS BECSUSE HE FEELS BAD OMG OMG OMG" to realize how short and meaningless it really was. It's just.......I want he to actually do something instead of being a cataclysm tool........

My question is why didn't Marinette just bring the horse miraculous with her? If something bad happened back home she could just use it's powers to teleport to Paris, beat the baddie, then teleport back to New York.

What I disliked most about this movie was after Adrien left, Marinette said she couldn’t be Ladybug without him. So he comes back, and DOES ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! Ladybug doesn’t need him AT ALL which sucks because Adrien is SO MUCH more interesting than creepy Marinette. Lol sorry to be rude and rant, but this show really grinds my gears 😔😂😂😂

Miraculous is like that toy we had when we were younger. It was shiny, it was new, you were exited to play with it. But at some point it just sat there, unchanged, useless and now just a pile of junk. You can wrap it in a bow and stick it in front of a camera for an hour but it’s still boring. If zag doesn’t come up with something new my love to hate this show will not be enough for me to keep watching this hot pile of garbage

Am I the only person who doesn’t like the concept of their being other superheroes? The whole reason Ladybug and Chat Noir exist is to reclaim the two missing miraculous and I feel like with the addition of other heroes, the writing that already struggles to be coherent at times will get worse or retconned

At this point, why is Marinette in love with Adrien, again? Because of the umbrella? Because of his cutie face? She literally doesn’t know ANYTHING about him, and, if we take in count that Chat Noir is Adrien’s real personality, then, she’s not even in love with him, she just idealized someone because UMBRELLA.

Marinette and Adrien hardly ever think things through with their relationship. This is precisely like the in the 3 seasons prior: they say hi to each other, they fight crime as their hero egos, they save the day, they fail to notice each other's alter egos, and then they have nowhere to go.

I really hated the fact that the American heroes copied pre-existing characters and aren't even the slightest bit original outside of looking strange and making me uncomfortable. No, not because they're lesbians or colored, because they actually just look atrocious and fit strange in the world (outside of Sparrow and Nightowl's costumes which tbh look fine if only they weren't blatantly Batman/Robin). There is so much potential for this world and its characters and they refuse to do anything with it and just continue to whine on twitter (Astruc esp. with Chloe smh) and copy others. I love Chat Noir and Ladybug, but at what cost? The show repetitively casts aside Adrien with no real reflection, Ladybug continues to be 1 dimensional and toxic without reflection, they STILL have no development into finding out who Hawkmoth is 3 seasons later...who even wanted the ENTIRE class to get a miraculous? UGH, I wish they'd write better, it doesn't look that hard honestly and it isn't. I just want a show focused on Chat Noir, maybe they'll actually do something with him for once. The only thing I liked about the special is the flying suits looking neat.

Another thing that bothered me about this is the fact that in America, everybody has superpowers. I understand the whole "everyday people are our heroes!" but that's the thing! The point of that is that you shouldn't need a power to be a hero! It just seemed unnecessary and maybe they did that so they could have the whole "heroes destroy the city" point in the movie but that just seemed wrong to me

What really annoyed me about the special is that they show us that Marinette was trying to move on from Adrien, and that's pretty good. But then, the narrative screws her over by shoving forced Adrienette moments down our throats, Alya being more pushy than ever, Aeon repeating "They're made for each other!" over and over again and dragging Jess into her schemes, etc. It gave me the impression that they're not willing to change the status quo of this dang show. What's the point of showing your main character trying to move on only for you to do everything in your power to stand in her way of change? They're sending a bad message to children and even teenagers by telling them moving on is a bad idea and they should stick to their unhealthy obsessions, even if they're hurting themselves over said obsessions and other people as well.

My biggest issue with the movie is that the show wants us to believe Marinette, while being a teenager, is totally responsible enough to be Ladybug and a guardian along with her personal life but is also dumb enough to not leave Paris with sufficient protection. Chat Noir is _one_ person and Ladybug is the one who usually does most of the work anyway. Mari should've known that he wouldn't have been enough. I'm sure Marinette could've found _someone_ who would be able to help Chat handle Paris (like idk Kagami) or could've at least taken the horse or snake miraculous with her. On top of that, Mari didn't even try to stay in Paris knowing she was vital to the citizens' protection? How does she do things like this yet the show expects us to believe she's responsible enough to be a guardian?

Something about the voices, specifically Nino’s voice, he actually has a completely new VA due to complaints of his original VA being White playing a POC, so his voice isn’t due to weird voice direction like the others such as Marinette and Adrien

The movie made me realize how awful Alya is as a friend. Marinette kept trying to get over Adrien, she started to see that Adrien might not like her back. And every time she starts to turn away from him, Alya turns her right back around. The show tries to justify that she’s just trying to be a good friend, but no. Alya is like that fan girl who needs her ship to become endgame. So she keeps pushing Marinette towards Adrien

I saw it randomly yesterday on TV, didn't even know it came out haha. In german the movie had the right voice actors like in the show, idk why they changed that in the english version. I enjoyed the movie but I see what your problems are wihin and yeah, I totally agree, I still enjoyed it alot x3

The only characters that have some kind of development are ironically the villains of the show (Gabriel and Natalie) And that’s not saying much because even then it’s really lacking.

Honestly, the writers are usually a little more creative whenever they create supervillains.

I feel like Miraculous Ladybug was one of those shows that seemed to have such potential, and started off amazing at the start. Kind of sad how we never would have predicted that the whole franchise would be a mess now.

We're at a point where the main romance makes literally no sense. They release an episode; Kagami and Adrien & Luka and Marinette are dating or like each other. They release the next episode; Marinette is still obsessed with Adrien just like in s1, and apparently Adrien is beginning to like her. _And this just repeats in a loop._

Basically the same stuff happens every episode for the show: Marinette freaks out about Adrien, Allya gives advice. Someone is sad, and they get akumatized. Ladybug and Cat Noir find their weakness, they are beaten, and everything is normal again.

thank the lord you did a video on this yes! This movie was bad. Most people dont get it that it was bad. Adrien lost his freedom and plagg and he cried once in the movie. Like the last miraculous rant, the producers dont even care about character development. The action was so bad. Also the American hero i dont remember he name ahha, she was legit captain marvel and wonder woman mix rip off. Also like if I was trying to get over a long time crush and my best friend tried to still match me up with that person, I would be so pissed at that person for not respecting my feelings.

Personally my biggest problem with the special was the American Heroes. It felt like they ripped off the concept of MHA and then added rip-offs of well known heroes because that's what popular. Having heroes in New York didn't even make sense if you think about it. How did they get their powers? Why are they only in New York? Why have we never heard about them until now? Why have they not helped defeat Hawkmoth? They weren't even that essential to the plot. The only semi-useful one was Aeon, only because she "died" and brought Cat Noir back into the action, not because she was actually helpful. If the writers focus less on the NY heroes and more on the protagonists, then the movie could've been a lot better since there would've been more time to focus on Marinette and Adrien's relationship, as well as a few side plots that got thrown out. They could've given us a scene where Marinette explains why she doesn't want to see Adrien as more than a friend anymore (and then have her realize that it doesn't matter what her feelings are, she cares too much about Adrien to push him away). Or more scenes with Sabrina and that NY dude, and maybe even Chloe feeling guilty about her actions from the finale and how they're pushing the ones she cares about away. Or more scenes with Adrien since his feelings and actions pretty much drive the plot. Even the Eagle miraculous made no sense. Supposedly its power was to 'unlock' what was holding a person back. Yet when that villain used it on the heroes, they automatically turned evil. Like Majestia's thing that was unlocked was her fear of her powers, but that wouldn't make her evil or use her powers to kill. Like the rest of the show, the special had a lot of potential, but in the end it fell a little flat.

second hand embarrassment is one of the worst things in the world. I think it's actually worse than being embarrassed yourself because of that element of empathy.

The creators said they wanted to make it longer. Maybe if it was it would of been better? (Me Thinking) NAH! it should still be trash. But thats what makes the show fun! I know its Bad, But can still enjoy it. Though Im still wishing they whould fix Adrienne

People who say stuff like "It's just a show for kids." Yeah! Even more the reason why there should be SOME growth in their character, to show the kids that making mistakes is fine, that you need to fix them, yada yada yada. They are taking things they see in television as facts, so if they see this, they're gonna think it's fine! From what I see, kids would get form this that being overly obsessive over people you like is fine (which is not, keeping a schedule and tracking somebody's every move is *stalking* ), that when somebody lies or threathens you, you should just ignore them (which, since it's a show for kids, like many say, I think should be handled with an adult. But I admit, we've not seen many episodes with Lila so they might still do something about that), and that if your friend likes somebody who's in a relationship, you apparently should ignore that too and just push them together and try to make them date anyways. And don't even let me started on the way Bustier treats bullies (Chloe) and how Gabriel treats Adrien. That is also. Not. Okay. Granted, I am ranting about more than just this movie but I'm so frustrated and sad. The first season was amazing, but then it suddenly went down a rollercoaster and stayed down.

As one of the og supporters and fans of the show, it really breaks me to admit this but you’re right. I first discovered the show back when it first aired on Nickelodeon. When the fandom was basically nonexistent. I still remember the days when there were crazy theories about Hawkmoth being Gabriel’s brother and all that. The fandom got huge during season 2. The animation quality increased, and a lot of the story improved but sadly that didn’t last long. Season 3 was the time when I started to question the show and it’s plot. Characters were being treated like trash (Chloe) and others were becoming increasingly worse (Marinette). I Sadly, criticism didn’t seem to be fit of the creator, Thomas Astruc, who I once respected a lot. He blocked me on Twitter. I was even the winner of the contest of the official miraculous Instagram to go to sdcc 2018. I was such a dedicated fan. I had my own fan page and I posted literally all the time. I even took pictures with the significant figures of the show, got autographs, and even appeared on one of their videos. Being part of the fandom was such a huge part of my life but as time went on my enjoyment of the show decreased because of its poor writing. I was upset that great characters like Luka and Chloe were being butchered down because of Marinette. I was literally cringing on so many occasions because of Marinette’s obsessive behavior. Like it’s ok to have a crush, and I know that romance is such a huge part of the show but that behavior is wrong and should be not romanticized. I wanted to speak up about these issues but any criticism towards the show always got faced with backlash. The fandom is extremely toxic. You may not realize it but if you say anything bad or anything that goes against popular opinion then you get attacked. I hadn’t realized how huge the fandom had gotten. Even after abandoning the fandom I can’t believe their Instagram got over 1 million followers. I still remember I followed them since like idk 74k I forgot but that just shows how huge they got in such a short amount of time. I’m pretty sure that in 2018 they had around 500k followers. The fandom literally doubled basically. It’s insane. Unfortunately as something gets more and more popular, arrogance can come from its creators, like what happened in this case. All I can say is that I’m just disappointed with what the show has become. Something I once dearly loved has turned into such a mess. Miraculous was the first fandom I ever even joined. I feel so bad for leaving but I know it was the right choice. I still watch the show and I am still a fan but it’s no longer the same. I even received some notifications of comments made on posts from my old account. People asking what had happened to me. I don’t know what to do but I’ll just leave it in the hands of the future. Regardless, Miraculous is something very special to me.

I mean, Papillon literally only started attacking *after* he sensed Ladybug and Chat Noir's presences. Won't lie, I'm 90% sure that more people are involved with ML because of the fandom and less of the actual cannon story. Not that I can blame them lol. Like the idea is really good but how it's laid out it is... well not as good.

Man, while watching this, I was just thinking "did they adapt a fanfiction?" Like, there's so much stuff that just seems "off" to me. The plot is kind of all over the place, the superheroes (specifically discount Batman and Superman) act like assholes for no good reason(except for the robot chick, she's okay) and Marinette and Adrien's actions are more annoying than emotional, and there wasn't really any character growth. Ngl, I cringed during some parts.

Apparently the original script draft was for a 2 hour movie. That would explain all the dropped plot points but not why they didn't just cut those bits out entirely.

I remember being so upset with the movie. I thought they would start changing/spice it up a bit with the dynamic bUT NO. It’s still the same old same old. They could have done so much, but it was like watching any other episode. This is what they could’ve done: 1. Marinette confesses but get rejected. In this case, Marinette and Adrien would feel a bit awkward and Marinette would have to accept it and try to move on. As Ladybug, Chat Noir notices that somethings off and that they have a talk about it. This can go two ways: Marinetter either ends up with Luka or maybe starts growing fond of Chat Noir as she gets to see the real Adrien. This way, they’re relationship would at least be somewhat healthier. 2. Marinette confesses and gets accepted. Idk if I’m a fan of this route but I could see it working. They get together and there is so many routes this can go. They could be an awkward couple since it would be a more one sided relationship and with that could spice up drama for both their personal and hero life. Or they try the relationship but realizes it doesn’t work out, making them breaking up and maybe somehow make Marinette akaumatized (idk if that would really work but if there was a way then instead of akumatize the earrings, akumatize a gift she got from Adrien maybe). This is just my opinion, but if anyone else has other opinions, please do share it!

Can someone rewrite this whole show? I wanna go back to season one and stay there because it just keeps getting worse with zero progression. Thomas Astruc is completely destroying his own show.

Also the name Uncanny Valley means disgust or avoidance of something inhumane. They put that name on a character they say is black. Um.... THOMAS, WHAT DID YOU DO?!

It was such a fan service movie! They just wanted to make a movie to extend the universe and rip off Marvel. They can’t extend the universe if they can barely fill out the Og universe.

I personally really liked the movie and definitely agree with your points but I just wanted to add on another flaw. The whole argument with Cat Noir and Ladybug doesn’t make sense to me. Yes she wanted a miraculous holder in the city but she could have easily found out if there was in akuma in Paris with a public app Adrien was using throughout the movie. If it was that easy to just have Cat Noir to notify her with a toy she didn’t even need to make him do anything and just get a notification of the akuma and leave New York and come back 😭🤚🏼 she had a good reason to be mad at him but girl come on

OH The Rose... Oh the Rose, Oh the Rose.... Did I mention the Rose. So Marinette get's given a Pink Rose By Cat Noir (and accepts it) Ladybug gets given a Red Rose by Cat Noir also accepts it (once) and then he offers her subsequent red roses which she usually refuses. So he changes tack and tries Pink, & White she also refuses those - he finally settles on a yellow one (that looks kinda orange to me) and she accepts that one. The problem is when you look up the meaning of the flowers and what she is saying no too. Fine so she say's no to "Romantic Love" Fine she's well with in her rights to want to be platonic.Then she refuses a pink one (a pink she's already accepted as Marinette from Cat Noir) ; The principle take away meaning here being "Admiration" say. So now she's saying to Cat Noir "No it is not OK that you admire me" - (I'm like what ?????) the secondary meaning is "Someone important to me" & Friendship and regard for the lighter colours & moving toward a more romantic tone with the deeper colours. So lets say OK he gave her a really deep pink rose, maybe she thought that was to much - OK I guess - but if it was a pale pink one she refused (I'm saying she's a jerk right now). The she refuses a white one - which yeah maybe she misunderstood and took it as 'Pure love' or "Soulmates" in meaning - when it also is perfectly fitting as it can also be anniversary and partnership and plenty of other applicable meanings too. - nah she through that one back in his face too. The ironic thing is that the Traditional meaning of Yellow roses was indeed Jealousy and was something you'd give someone in an insulting way. That is the ones she takes - and what did we see in the immediately previous episode - "jealousy" leading to all those disasters. - so "oh the Irony" that is the one she takes. She should have accepted the pink or the white me thinks.
