As a Phillies fan, this brings me IMMENSE joy. The Mets being dysfunctional is pretty commonplace right now. However I don't see how anyone could interpret that he said worst team when he clearly meant teammate. Listen to the pronouns and the clear way he's saying possessively. He acted out improperly, not very good, but I think it's more the environment in that clubhouse right now

Typical met fan, somehow you bring up the Yankees when they had nothing to do with this. Juan Soto did absolutely nothing wrong on that play. If they were 11 games out, it still would’ve been bs. The Mets having a horrible year isn’t going to help them in 2025 get free agents

I find it funny that people think Soto would want to be part of this. If the Mets rebuild, Soto is a one man show. If the Mets make a few moves to improve the team, Soto is still a one man show. It will take more than Soto to make the Mets a contender. I don't think the money will be enough for Soto to endure playing for a team that can't compete for a World Series title. Soto may not remain with the Yankees, but it will not be because he chose the Mets.

Might sound wild, but this season isn’t on Stearns. He inherited a garbage team and a garbage payroll. He couldn’t do much this past offseason. All dead contracts. He needs a reset to be held accountable.

If he said worst “teammate,” the context doesn’t make sense. I’ve heard tons of people try to say that, and no one explains the context. He was asked if he regrets his actions, and he would “I don’t regret it, I’ve been the worst teammate?” That quote doesn’t make sense. It DOES make sense to not regret it if you’re on the worst TEAM. If was the worst teammate, by his own words, then he would regret his actions. You don’t regret them the team is the issue, not you. Completely dishonest reading by anyone trying to spin what he said. Not to mention he doubled down on it in the moment. Only after the fact, when he realized how stupid it was, did he try to change the what he said.
