I view this as such... The Papa Roach version is that of an an angry and angst filled young person dealing w their initial understanding of a mental illness diagnoses. And Ronnie's version is that of that same individual. Much older and broken. Filled w a desperation that isn't palatable anymore. It's impossible to play the part of being ok any longer. And though this wasn't a choice.....being unalive is the only choice available.

Papa Roach version = angry teens This version = mature adults still healing from their past wounds, understanding more emotion and feeling with what people deal with The video of Ronnie showing this to Jacoby has to be one of the best things I’ve seen, it’s short but you two should really watch it.

Watching suzi listen to this song you can see she is edging on a break down of emotions. Only stopped by Travis well timed pauses. Fun fact Jacoby asked Ronnie to write a reimagined version of this song two years ago. He's had his blessing from day one.

I love what he did with this song, it's absolutely beautiful. One thing I've noticed with a lot of reactions to this song, not a lot of people paid attention to the lyrics. When Papa Roach released this song the lyrics are what made me fall in love with it.

Wonderful reaction, thank you for sharing so much of your feelings and thoughts about this really intense song. There is a fun video of Ronnie showing the video to Jacoby the first time, I hope yall watch it, really shows Ronnie's humility. This video hits hard, there are times that I feel like I am caving in on myself and everything around me is flying apart, but then I look around and everything looks fine, the crisis and turmoil was my crisis and no one had even noticed there was a problem.

The city piecing itself back together (likely metaphor of piecing himself back together) by the broken pieces literally falling in reverse is something I hope was intentional and even if it wasn’t it’s a brilliant example of hope and kind of brings some light back from the darkness

I love y’all’s reactions so much and I agree papa roach version is the one we needed as teens and falling in reverse version is the one we need as adults the line “it all started when I lost my mother no love for myself or no love for another” hits different after knowing about Ronnie and his relationship with his mother is non existent and knowing some friends who have or still are in that situation with there moms mine is like that but with my dad not my mom she’s my best friend

The video was a direct continuation to watch the world burn... my interpretation is that ronnie was the only person left after lighting the world on fire, and the Grey city was the wasteland in the aftermath. The song was about reflecting on what he had done and how he handled everything. He wasn't alright so he put the world back together after realizing he was wrong. His last resort was to set the world on fire and he regretted it so he put it back that's why at the end of the video u see the exact opposite of WTWB some say the earth is falling in reverse when it was put back together

To me the original is the anger before reaching the end of your rope, and the falling in reverse reimagined is that point where you just accept it. Like "yep, I'm done"

You guys NAILED this reaction! So much emotion this song and video instill in everyone who watches! I believe this video has a double meaning… the inner turmoil being shown is one and the aftermath of Watch the World Burn is the other. You guys hit the nail on the head with the inner turmoil where you tear down everything inside of you with those thoughts, but the end is viewed two ways: the positive building back up cause you are getting help, or the false building back up being the mask that so many wear to hide what they are feeling. The other meaning being the aftermath… Watch the World Burn was his reaction to everyone making him feel like the villain and turning in to one and destroying the world… Last Resort was his aftermath and the wasteland he created. It’s his admitting that he is/wasn’t alright and he used the power he has to rebuild the world instead of burning it. The grey wash of the buildings is the ash ridden world, the buildings falling then being put back together is him rebuilding, and you can see the fire being taken back as well as the final imagery being the exact reverse of Watch the World Burn. Some have even said that the buildings were “Falling in Reverse” 😉 Loved seeing you guys react to this!
