This is about Ronnie’s relationship with himself. He wrote it in prison, put in solitary for jailhouse alcohol and tattoos, looking in a mirror. He realized his problem was himself. The drug in him was, well, him. He was feeding off the misery like a drug. He started to change. The lyrics belie the party atmosphere of the video and the upbeat nature of the music. That’s why you HAVE to do the Reimagined version. It will blow your mind! Ronnie’s longtime girlfriend by the way is Saraya, the new AEW Women’s World Wrestling Champion, formally known as Paige, Diva’s Champion in the WWE. There was a movie made about her called Fighting With my Family. She’s featured in the I’m Not a Vampire Revamped video, which you should do a reaction to both the original and Revamped versions of. Same thing with this, same song, two completely different ways, 11 years apart! The Drug in Me is You was filmed in the same courtroom they filmed Popular Monster in. Ronnie loves his Easter Eggs😂

FYI "the drug in me is you" was written after Ronnie looked in the mirror in his prison cell. It's not about another person. He's saying his drug addictions were within him.

I remember when he got out of jail and made this band. It was the best thing for him. I still listen to his vocals on some old Escape the Fate songs though. He has such an amazing voice and his lyrics are sooo good, no matter which band he is in.

Ronnies Older stuff just shows how complex and deep ALL of his songs are, and shows hes been amazing at blending everything since ETF - Situations and all that way back in those days (pre-Jail) when you think how awesome his new music & videos are (the usual 4 or 5 most react too then stop) you see he's been great the whole time and where his skills came from that have just gotten better and better

The shredding being kept in on the reimagined-in a different way- was bitter sweet for those who miss seeing those amazing skills from shy yet funny person interviews and back stage- sad that this earth has lost another talent person so early in life- so I do love that Ronnie kept his besties shredding in there are well as the original lyrics- the new video is just hauntingly beautiful and fits so well as an evolved Ronnie. Yea to Zombified with Don- and maybe Alone- we love to break our neck at this house!!!

After you do the Reimagined version of this one, check out I'm Not A Vampire and the Revamped version, but definitely do them both in 1 video! Ronnie said that he didn't put out the Reimagined and Revamped songs to gain new fans, but kind of as a "gift" to the fans that have been with him from the beginning. They definitely gained some fans with those 2 though because they're masterpieces. The Revamped video won some awards. The Mixtape is a solo rap project (with colabs, but separate from FIR). To find the videos, search with his name. I recommend "Who Can Stop Us" and "Never the Same".

Hey guys, it was never about the hair or the makeup. It was about the bad boy image lol. Women love bad boys. All the parting usually happened on the bus or hotel room but things did happen in the green room depending on the band. Some bands would pick out girls in audience and staff would take them back stage. Thrn you had your groupies that would travel with the band. Lol I loved 70s and 80s.

This band, Or more so Ronnie, did not stay in a pocket. He changed with every album and his singles like the Trilogy and the now 3 reimagined songs (2 of his own songs then Papa Roach Last Resort). They REALLY hit stride in 2022 with Zombified & Voices in my head, but Watch the World Burn from this year shot them up. Total progression. He still plays this on his shows.

The controversy you were talking about was with Spiritbox I think (who are a great band btw). Basically, they were set to tour with FiR but their fanbase bullied them out of it. Ronnie actually didn’t say anything bad about the band and said they’re all super nice, but he did go after their fans for doing that to them

I'll be the 100th person to ask you to react to the Reimagined version - "The Drug In Me Is Reimagined" It's best to watch the original right before the reimagined version. It'll blow your mind, especially since you mentioned the lyrics seem deep, the reimagined version reflects the lyrics much better. Then do "I'm Not A Vampire" and then "I'm Not A Vampire - Revamped" and it will blow your mind more.
