A pet peeve of mine is the mud when your trying to catch your horse, it’s either too hard and you break your ankles or too wet and you slip everywhere! 😂😂 love your vids x

I can definitely relate to that. Expecialy in winter when the mud is so deep and squelchy that my feet get stuck in the mud and pull my boots off😂

my pet peeve is when people judge other riders about anything like how they ride, their weight, beginners etc i just don’t like it when people judge others.

yeah same bc usually they're actually kinda good - for a beginner or someone who can't really afford many lessons and might not have much riding gear. I always try to be rlly nice to them.

My pet peeves!!! Leaving stable doors open when horses are not in there - I ALWAYS shut the door - not sure why, just think it looks neater - Not closing gates behind - if a gate is shut when I walk through it, I shut it after me - bugs me when people don't do the same - Headcollars left on field fences -People that only ever brush off the saddle/girth area before they ride Sorry that was quite a lot I could go on forever 😂😂😂

Pet peeves- When non-equestrian say riding horses are “easy” like machines -or- When you train so well at home then at the show you completely mess your round up. 😂

Yeah, (my horse in my pfp) here’s a story…I stayed at my yard from 6 in the morning to 3 (not riding the whole time I know that would be bad for my horse) Mucking out, Tacking some horses for my yard to help, then my instructor said “how about you work on your show mills” so I was like “yeah omg I forgot.” So I trained and did fab I got an amazing canter out of Chase (my horse) every time. Then it came to the show day…Chase refused the first jump, I fell of 2 times and he did a buck…yeah I know…

@@user-gz5xl7wx3u Yup! It’s been a crazy journey. Started attending a kids riding camp in 2014, ended up competing on a team in 2017. Took lessons at many different barns, as well as working at several different barns. I now teach riding lessons to kids and am in the planning process to find my first horse! :)

My most embarrassing story is when I was riding we went through a puddle and my horse got a fright but she chose to gallop through not me and she made me fall off halfway and my whole head went into the water and then I came out with a brown poopy water head

My equestrian pet peeve is when people can’t distinguish between a mare and a gelding or stallion!!! It’s so irritating. Also when people just stroke the dandy brush when grooming!! I love ur videos esme and I hope you feature me in your next video!

My equestrian pet peeve is when the young lesson students hang up their bridal on the hook and then hang up the girth over the top, squishing the noseband and browband. Love the videos!

A ridding pet peeve of mine is when non equestrians say “ ridding is not a sport” and when you are getting a leg lift and your horse starts walking away when you are not on the ground. I love your videos I get so excited when you post a new video😁

A few of my equestrian pet peeves: -when ppl don’t use the girth or billet strap on saddle pads -when ppl don’t pull the saddle pad up into the gullet -flashes/nosebands that are too tight -unnecessarily harsh bits

Ok hear me out for the browband part😅 All of our horses are sensitive and funny about certain things. One of our mares is really funny about her forelock being in her eyes and ears but doesn't like it braided. My gelding is also funny when his forelock flies back around his ears, and another of our mares was abused and is headshy (we think she was also ear twitched), so her forelock is her least favorite thing. Out colts dam has the thickest hair, and is fine with it! I also personally think it looks neater in the browband when it's not flying around their ears😅

Hi esme video is amazing! My worst fall was when my horse had a little trip and put his neck down and i fell over his neck onto my head luckily i had a good helmet! My horse was okay

One of my pet peeves is that Goldie (one of the horses at my riding stables) always has to poo right near Duke's head and Duke is the horse I ride so I always have to move Duke so he doesn't get pooed on by Goldie 😂😂

My pet peeve is when you know your horse has an issue like a horse shoe missing. You're aware of that because you check your horse everyday. And suddenly you have a random person coming out telling you that thing your horse has 😅 yeah Karen I know my horse has a horse shoe missing 😂

My biggest pet peeve is when someone who isn’t an equestrian says “horse riding isn’t a sport” or “the horse does everything” or “you just sit there and do nothing” and lastly that “horse riding (in general) is animal cruelty” I’m sure every equestrian can agree to this and that is drives us maddd

My pet peeve is when my lesson pony sully had to walk over every poll or jump in the arena before taking the full course on his own and he has been jumping in competitions with jumps 10x taller than the trot polls 😫

One of my pet peaves, when someone at the barn thinks they know everything 😂 There's a girl who rides in the riding lesson before me, who thinks she is so amazing because the other riders in the lesson are less experienced. She loves to intrude on conversations and acts like she owns the place, often annoying our instructor 😂

You don’t need to wash your bit after every ride , just don’t let them eat with the bit in and it won’t get that dirty after one ride , I wash mine before shows and important events

I’m Maisie and I’m new to the equestrian community! I started riding in April, and it’s amazing!! One of my pet peeves is when the horse decides to stop and kick their feet in the air, especially if there is a horse behind, because then the horse and rider behind gets dirty, and the horse I’m riding gets dirty too sometimes. I always feel bad for the rider behind!

My equestrian pet peeve: I work weekends at a school barn and all the school riders never put their tack away and if they do they put it on the saddle rack the wrong way, they don't clean their bits and they put the bridle on upside down, I would understand if they didn't now how to do it right but I'm always explaining to them how to put their stuff away properly. It's so annoying because I'm constantly picking up after them, they also dry clean saddle pads lying around and they put the sweaty gross ones away which makes them mold. Love your videos and your horses I hope I can be in the next video ❤️❤️

A couple of my equestrian pet peeves are when you're wearing muck boots and your feeding and all the hay falls in your boots and sticks to your socks. Also when people get straight to the lesson without warming up their horse.

One of my pet peeves is when you’re going to catch some horse/horses and the paddock is covered in deep mud, and you’re wearing ankle boots… It’s so unpleasant to feel that your socks, boots and pants are filled with mud! My equestrian part peeve is when I go out to get my horse in the HUGE field, and she's all the way in the back. When I finally reach her, she gallops off to the barn before I can catch her, and the long walk is for nothing.

Hi Esme I'm Ada and my embarrassing story is that one day when I was at a normal riding lesson and it was the first time we got to ride ourselves without a helper I was first to ride and I was so proud of myself and when we had to stop our horses I pulled dthe rein too far back and the horse started to go backwards and I forgot how to make it stop going backwards and everyone was watching me especially when I was so proud of myself and then failed straight away. My pet peeve it when: - someone puts a rug on and doesn’t cross the straps underneath. - when they flip the girth over and they don’t unbuckle it at both sides - when they don’t put the forelock over the brow-band.

my pet peeve is when people in school always say horses run the first time i just tell them its called gallop but when they do it again its so annoying! another one is when people leave there horses or ponies in the feild and do nothing with them then they get fat and with ponies its hard to get them back to normal weight. love your channel esme please read my comment!

I actually have a story too :) once when i first started riding, i was about 8-10, i was mucking out my horses stall and i just heard shouting "LOOSE HORSE" "LOOSE HORSE." turns out that horse was My horse. i tried running after him but i accidently left my wheelbarrow outside the stable door and i slipped on something to this day im still not sure what it was, anyway. i landed face first into the horse muck. not my proudest moment. we ended up catching him in the end

some of my pet peeves are: when people don’t put the girth through the girth loops on the saddle pad when riders get put on horses they aren’t ready for and they ruin them people cutting me off in flat classes in horse shows when riders brag about jump height

My pet peeves -- Horses that refuse to stand when you’re mounting. Heck, it’s more than just annoying, it’s dangerous! -- Riders Who Do Not Know Where They Are Sitting in the Saddle!!! Ufff -- when people ask..Hey, can I ride your horse?” When you get a new car, does your cousin’s best friend’s uncle’s neighbor who doesn't have his or her license ask to take it around the block for a spin? Nope. So why do people who have never even been around horses immediately ask to ride yours? This will forever be a fingernails-on-a-chalkboard moment for us equestrians!! OMG That's all. Hope you read it love you xx

One of my biggest pet peeves is when the horse I’m riding/training decides that as I’m walking right behind him he has to relive himself of some excess gas. Plz put this in the video. (ps love watching you and your Beautiful horses so much!)♥️

A pet peeve of mine is when a horse/pony has done a poo either in a lesson, in a walkway etc and people decide to lead their horse through it instead of avoiding it and then it spreads out everywhere making it so difficult to pick up! Pls put this in a vid, thanks Esme! xx

My worse horse story is that: So I got to the stables like a normal Thursday riding lesson and then as I walked I wasn’t looking I was going so I walked into a horses butt, but luckily it didn’t kick at me so that was one of the good things that day and then we started to do my lesson and then what was happening as we were doing trotting poles and I fell of the horse for my first time four times. One of the times I slipped and then the saddle went underneath and we were cantering upside down. So yeah that’s story and by the way I love your videos you are so amazing. my equestrian pet peeve is when I'm mucking out the stalls and people think it is ok to let their horses in the stall. When I leave for 5 seconds and shut the stall door. Then come back and a horse is in it. I love your videos Esme thank you for making them. They make my day so much better!!!!

One of my biggest pet peeves is when you have the same lead rope as someone else in the stable and the other person takes yours so you have to hope your horse stays still (wich usually never happens) or hunt around the entire stable to find a spare. Also the other person doesn't give your lead rope back because they think its theirs

My pet peeve is when the forelock is tucked under the brow band, it just bothered me so much I always have to pull it out 😂

Some of my pet peeves are when people don’t put things back were they go . Another is where they put there stuff literally EVERYWHERE 😂😂😂 Ps : Love your videos! You are a great example for everybody!!

My pet peeve is when ever someone has used there saddle pad and it is full of horse hair and they plop it on there saddle and there is just hair everywhere! It strangely really really annoys me 😆

Mine is when people put the saddle back without undoing girth, rolling stirrups up or taking saddle pad off

My pet peeve is when you get hay/shavings/straw in your boots, you shake it out but there is still one really itchy piece that won’t come out!

My absolute biggest pet peeve is when people are in such a rush to groom their horse and they don’t get dried mud off of their horses legs/tail. I’d love to be in the video!!!!! Love you esme!!

When I was at pony camp this year, I was going into my pony Sabrina’s stable to groom her before my riding lesson. As I walked through the door, I tripped over the water bucket, knocking it over, soaking my jodhpurs and Sabrina ran out of the open door and down the stable line where everyone was walking and they all had to jump out of her way! Luckily she stopped as soon as she reached the grass outside to eat! She is very greedy but I love her! Love from Felicity, aged 7

I know this is over a year ago but I’m still going to share! My pet peeve is when people put the bridle on they tuck the horses forelock under the crown…it looks so un-natural.

What reminded me of my pet peeve is horses pooping up against the stable walls. Of course my horse loves to do this, but it gets worse. In winter when she is wearing her blanket (or rug as it’s called in England) she still poops against the wall but now the tail flap is in the way! In addition to the tail flap becoming gross somehow the poo gets inside of it. When it dries it becomes crunchy and you can hear all the little poo pieces inside with no way to get it out! So annoying!! Ily Esme!

This video came at the perfect time for me - I only started riding in July and had my first ever fall yesterday. Unfortunately it was quite bad (I was put on a horse far too advanced for me, he bolted and I flew off lol); nothing broken but very bruised and sore and I won't be able to ride for at least a few weeks. I do feel a bit better now hearing other people's stories and knowing that even very accomplished equestrians can fall off sometimes. I guess every equestrian has had at least one setback and I am determined to get back to riding as soon as is safe and try again! Thanks Esme :)

A pet peeve of mine is when you go to catch your horse from the field in the winter, and the mud completley like swallows your wellies and they get stuck in the mud! Please put this in Esme!!! It would make me so happy!
