I had 2 good friends but unfortunately the energy was getting strange. I would get invited to girls night but they would make me feel left out. Red flags started to pop up a lot more so I distanced myself. My sister is my best friend and my family is all I need ❤️

I had to distance myself from a few people who I once considered my best friends, and after years of exhaustion I finally walked away. Unfortunately the healing process takes a while, and it seems harder to make new friends now due to trust issues and letting people in again. I don't quite assume the worst in everyone, but I am definitely a lot more cautious. In the process it has taught me how to be my own best friend and keeping my circle small, so this is probably the most peaceful time ever which is the pro side of what happened!

I'm really loving todays podcast! The part where Naz said "every one of your friends should have a trait that you admire or want for yourself" really had me sitting here evaluating all of the friendships I have & that's so true & never thought of it that way. Also the part about having a "transactional/tit for tat relationships". Girl YESS! That is soooo exhausting! We should be doing things out of the kindness of our hearts, not to expect something back. That is so ugly & one of my biggest pet peeves! Y'all have such mature mindsets & could listen to y'all every day! MUCH LOVE!

I agree with everything except the part about asking who’s gonna be there. I do it personally to avoid bad vibes or energy I don’t associate with, or to prepare myself mentally in advance if the activity is gonna require a little bit more social battery out of me 😂 For example, I get invited to a party where I know that some people will be extra loud or extroverts, will be drinking a lot, etc. In that case Imma be taking a nap before hand bc my introvert self runs out of energy quick😂

I loved this conversation on friendships. I agree with Yaz on the low maintenance friendship thing. I feel like everyone always talks bad about low maintenance friends but don’t actually fully understand a what healthy low maintenance friendships looks like. I resonate with Yas and her view points on being a low maintenance person/friend. I show up for me 100% in every sense of the concept. I don't require alot from friends, which allows them to show up for themselves 100%. Which results in two happy women when it's time to unite. I am my own Bugatti and nobody makes me feel as good as I make myself feel. The compliments and acknowledgements from friends are truly sprinkles on the cake. My best friend thinks the same way and we have been thriving for 5 years. Love her to pieces.

In Latin culture is someone doesn't show up it means absolutely nothing. We assume you're busy with the kids, elders, at your second job. No one cares. It actually something that bothers me about Americams that get bent out of shape about RSVPS. In generations with multi-generational care there is never downtime. Maybe that's why? But granted, most Americams don't have any responsibility outside of themselves. There aren't multiple jobs and a ton of family members/collective mindset.

Love your pod!! Here are 2 opinions I have on this episode’s topics: 1. I laughed when you said you hate when ppl ask “who will be there” 😂 I ask this question bc I have social anxiety sometimes and I like to know if there will be someone there who will drain me. Just a thought as to why someone might ask that. 2. Every person my mom ever said was jealous of me was indeed proven to be jealous of me eventually. This taught me to trust my mom’s intuition lol

My brother & I are virgo twins like Kai and Ariyah 👦🏻👧🏻Having a twin brother as a girl is one of the biggest blessings! He is like a built in security guard for me he protects me and makes me feel safe and I’m like a princess amongst others 👸🏻😂 its a great dynamic having both male and female personalities very close to each other. Now were almost 25 and we are still very very close and we both wouldnt want it any other way🥰 ps I did wish for a sis I’m 8 years older but we really didnt start connecting till her teen years recently.
