I think it’s pretty hard for most actors to be switched off when they’re dealing with Jimmy Fallon because that guy is so “switched on” they play off of him. Mike is so different in a few interviews I’ve seen where he’s not switched on. Seems like a very subdued and gentle person compared to the usual. But more interesting

As a socially awkward person, tried to watch and see what you said. Honestly i felt like this was just his way of being actively involved in the discussion rather than a hijacking, mostly because a hijacking usually (IMO) results in switching subject to themselves and little else. To me it felt like jimmy was trying super hard to comprehend the commentary while also finding a way to relate, as opposed to turning the topic to himself directly. I find I do this often (relate my own experience to the experience of others) not because i want to talk about myself but because i happen to be better in discussions when i can relate or share a similar experience. My 2 cents!

He covers it with a lot of humor, but the humor is a tongue in cheek method of pointing out to the audience that he “knows” and that he doesn’t consider himself as attractive as he was. Myers, you really don’t need to say anything about how you look. You are fine the way you are. Don’t care if you are 30 years old or 100, or what you look like. You are just an insanely talented and funny person with amazing good energy and hope you are living a happy life & that you stay with us a long time. You have great energy/vibes.
