Charlie is his brother who he grew up with. They have the same patterns of speech. All he had to do to sound like him is talk slower with a deeper voice. For Charlie to sound like Eddie, he would just have to talk faster with a higher voice

I'm convinced that Eddie has countless impressions in his repertoire that we've never heard... he really captured the essence of Rodney. He's also understating how much he has been around legendary people... has anyone seen the Jim Jefferies special where he talks about how he was hired to perform at a private party for some random big shot, and all these big stars were there, including Al Pacino, Warren Beatty, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Eddie? I've never associated Eddie with any of those guys - he doesn't really go out of his way to name-drop - but he has probably met just about everyone over the years, in entertainment at least.

Everybody wanna act like Chappelle Show was all that. It was a funny lil skit show in a time where there was not much funny sh*t on tv but c'mon now. Charlie wasn't even the funniest on Chappelle Show. You shld go back and watch some of Eddie Murphy's catalogue. Charlie was about as funny as a normal cool black person with a sense of humor. Eddie is something completly else, man. I love Charlie but no way, man. not even close.

Im a comic. U have to be one of us to understand Eddie said he was 17 performing in miami. Hes from ny. To be booked period at 17. To be doing comedy period at 17. To be booked 1500 miles from home at 17. To accomplish these at any age for a comic is big

Good commentary. Eddie was a very rare case. He KNEW where he was gonna go and got there. In the old days, it was never his material, it was his confidence and stage presence. He was different. He had an air about him that he already made it. Thats why the comparisons to Pryor are wrong. The only similarity is they both curse. Pryor was much more vulnerable. Eddie had the leather, cockiness, and swag which was new to stand up comedy.

I AM SO happy Eddie is back. He took a break from giving interviews for a while. But, he is a wealth of knowledge, information, and great stories! I am glad now he's back and receiving the respect and acknowledgments that he deserves from the media and the world.

Kevin Hart said he was a meet up of a whos who of black comedians. From Eddie Murphy to dave chapelle and everyone in between and both Chapelle and Hart said Eddie was still the funniest guy in the room.

I like that Charlie and Eddie do pretty much spot on impressions of each other, Eddie just goes into Charlie's voice so effortlessly here. If you watch the Prince and Rick James' sketches, Charlie is doing all the off-camera "Eddie" lines. RIP Charlie Murphy.

I LOVE Eddie Murphy, he is a true LEGEND. He is SO VERY side splitting HILARIOUS without even trying. He has an ENDLESS list of the bodies of work that are classic comedy that I NEVER gets old. I am so happy when he returned to SNL to do all the skits from the past in and updated version. Eddies brother Charlie was a GREAT STORY TELLER and the person who edited the story telling is a GENIUS! The Prince and Rick James stories are my all time favorite..
