My friend once came over and wanted to play Fallout to see what the rage was. I left the room to get a drink, and when I returned, almost everyone in Megaton was dead. Worst idea ever.

I just bought fallout 3 again *my first time with all the dlc* and It makes me so happy I can depend on your guides even 11 years later.

Why am i here ive played this game for over 500hrs and its 2018

no mention of Lincoln's Repeater or the Terrible Shotgun? Easily two of the best weapons in the game and ridiculously easy to obtain. The ideal beginner's weapons.

I spent a considerable amount of time picking these guns out of the entire selection available in the game. So I can securely say that these are some of the easiest guns to grab the moment you leave vault 101. The entire point is that you can grab the one that appeals to your tastes the most. Then rely on it heavily, however personally I would grab Ol' Painless, because it uses the most common ammo.

Also a useful tip for good karma characters: make sure to speak to the water repair guy in megaton, fix the 3 pipes as he requests and now you’ll have an early NPC who’ll take scrap metal in exchange for XP and caps 👍🏻

this is how i go about my weapons when i start... first hunting rifle in a barn behind vault 101 (near raider flyover), second : sniper rifle and stealth boy from hollowed rock outside megaton. third : nick simms key off simms in megaton, equip stealth boy and raid megaton armory.... in the end... pretty sorted for the start in terms of weapons :D

I remember getting Fallout 3 back in 2010, and coming to this video to guide me through the wasteland. I was 10 years old 8 years ago, and I get a ton of nostalgia watching these old videos. I remember staying up late with my older brother playing the crap out of fallout 3.... I wish I could go back to those times

Pro tip: If you can't get the Reservist's rife because it's stuck up on the platform, a well thrown frag grenade can knock it down for you.

Its all about the Terrible Shotgun. Saved my arse for the entirety of the game tbh. Though I did like using Sydneys Ultra SMG

Ol' Painless all day all night even on level 30. Incredibly accurate.

After all those years and over a dozen play through's. I'm still amazed about finding out hidden and unique items. Such as that hidden doorway.

This is what I do: After you leave the Vault, head to Megaton and do the quest where Lucas dies, you should be familiar with it. When Lucas is dead, grab his assault rifle. Now do the quest where you have to convince some lady in Springvale to do something (sorry, I’m not very specific and this is probably hard to understand) You can ask the lady in Springvale for 200 caps, just have to get pass a Speech Check. If you got the 200 caps, buy some Stimpacks and start making your way to the Republic of Dave to get Ol’ Painless, it’s worth it in the end. On your way back, you can go and get the Reservists Rifle, or you can get more supplies and come back later. Now, just swim down the river to Rivet City and you can get the A3-21 Plasma Rifle but you don’t have to do this as you are already decently overpowered for a player less than level 5. Good luck!

There's also a stash containing a Sniper Rifle, Stealth Boy and few others, just outside Megaton in a hollowed out rock. The easiest weapon to obtain for a low level character. Sure, the unique variant is more powerful, but atleast before acquiring the better one, it will serve you well.

One thing to note about the Protectron's Gaze - it's more efficient to use it in real-time and not VATS as a registered miss in VATS will make it's spread massive. Oh, and a very nice intro Link. I dig it.

Flak and Shrapnel tend to sell it in Rivet City. The BoS sell a good deal of it in the Citadel armoury. And Lucky Harith sells pretty much anything that can be used to make the people you don't like go away...He wanders on the caravan route all over the wastes

Just a tip if anyone is curious about how to get both rewards from the replicated man quest. Go through the quest like normal but when you talk to harkness about being an android make sure you choose the option to kill Dr.Zimmer which then gives you the A3-21 plasma rifle *which is really good btw* and 200 positive karma. But instead of killing zimmer tell him that the android is harkness which then gives you wired reflexes *pretty good perk* which gives +10% chance to hit in vats and 200 negative karma basically making you receive no negative or positive karma.

Another noob weapon: One of if not the most powerful melee weapon named “Fisto” could be found northeast of minefield in a power station named MDPL-13. It has a lot of gouls and even a glowing one so make sure you have good weapons. Once you have killed all the enemies you go up some stairs and go into a room. The Fisto will be on a desk.

If you have less stuff in your backpack you run faster,also if you carry lighter guns in your hands and/or les armor or light armor also "holsterting your weapons" makes you fasters as well

BEST STARTING WEAPONS DEPENDING ON KARMA a3-21's plasma rifle is hard to get you have to kill lots of super mutants to get it it ain't a starting weapon it is a level 20+ weapon this guy is playing in normal mode in very hard mode you can't grab it without the lever action rifle or double barrel rifle first from Point Lookout the easiest strongest weapon you can get early on as evil karma Evil Karma 1. If your evil easiest to grab is the rock-it rocket launcher just rob everyone in megaton and sell all ammo weapons and everything else you steal that's just lying around now you have enough money to build and obtain the rock-it rocket launcher 2. the .44 magnum just rob Billy Creel's ammo then enter a building then exit and steal the .44 magnum just don't forget to save 3. the hunting rifle it's just inside Luca's Simms house just pick the key from him and steal the gun from his house 4. Minigun to obtain this buy it with stolen items and things from everyone in Megaton and in Craterside Supply Moria could be selling 1 at this point and this is incredibly strong for starting weapon when repaired by Moria even if low big Gun skill 5. Lever action Rifle easy if your evil cause it easy to get 1500 fast when your always robing everyone in Megaton to pay Tobar the travel expenses. Buy it from madam Panada's 6. Double Barrel Shotgun easy if your evil cause it easy to get 1500 fast when your always robing everyone in Megaton to pay Tobar the travel expenses. Buy it from madam Panada's Good Karma or Neutral 1. the sniper rifle hidden in a rock on a footlocker outside Megaton 2. assault rifle is with some raiders in Springvale school 3. saw-off shotgun is with some raiders in Springvale school 4. when you obtain your house here check the desk inside at the 2nd floor for weapon and ammo there could 1 of any of the following hunting rifle, 32 pistol, chinese pistol ,laser pistol and saw-off shotgun in it but sometimes none so save 1st before you enter your house.

None of these are really beginner's weapons

@sensenstein If you're following my perfect character guide, that's actually the ideal time to get the plasma riffle. Just be sure to grab the intelligence bobblehead first, and then complete the quest for the riffle.

You can always get the Gauss rifle after you finish operation anchorage (provided that you have the GOTY version or the DLC). You can also get plenty of other goodies (including the ability to wear power armor early in the game.

good guide 5* faved , i did the election method for the ol'painless , the alien blaster and protectron's gaze (which i got without killing anyone of the super villains) is my favorite , a3 21 plasma rifle is the most awesome i thought especially the quest the replicant man which is so bladerunner , by the way you don't have to break into sisters room , you can get a holotape from the doc and Moira and also in paradise falls near the vaulttec toy ,

I didn't do mqny side quests the first time I played fallout 3, so I was around level 15 and mainly used a baseball bat because it was easy to repair.

This game is so easy. There are times I almost died but I came out alive. I've accidentally killed myself, so no one gets the chance to kill me. In other hand Fallout New Vegas...

Did you watch the video? You only need to kill or outrun two mirelurks, no skills required. Actually just got that gun with a lvl 3 or 4 char. Possibly easiest weapon to obtain in this guide since other seem to require significantly more travelling. Great guide!

A game I've play 18 times straight through .no start overs like pc players. Not guns but undiscovered places I've found have never been online in my years of playing . you did a great job on this video. Next time you play go into local maps for months everywhere and you'll see what I'm meant.

My most favorite Unique Gun and most used it the Xuanlong Assault Rifle, because you can get it so early, it's very powerful, and Ammo is so common.

Bro I just subscribed and I believe that the beginners weapons and armor videos are my favorite because I just started playing this game and need help finding out what weapons and armor or companion's are good to use in Fallout 3

lol. I was running more along the lines of, if he catches you he gives your character a negative effect, but if you find one of eight pages within an hour (pages spawn close to where you were infected by him) the effect will change to something positve, and what that effect is depends on which page you pick up.

The intro reminds me of ZZ Top's La Grange. Love it.

Lincoln’s repeater took me through the entire game.

For The Drifter, I use VATS and aim for his arms to disarm the rifle. If it doesn't fall to the ground, it can be knocked down with a grenade (rarely necessary).

well here is the funny thing i went behind the megaton city base to find the hallowed rock and i ran into a raider that had a laser pistol, which is now one of my favorite weapons

@waimster No capture card, it was all done on PC. Check the credits for programs used, every vid has them.

@NexGenAirsoft The ghoul mask helps alot, and its like having ghouls as your allies, they help you fight when enemys are nearby sometimes!

@theHobojoe63 No the victory riffle is inferior, nearly all of it's stats are lower (in the case of AP use higher) than the reservists riffle. The reservists riffle has higher damages rating, lower AP use in VATS, and a higher critical multiplier. Without question these stats place it above the victory riffle, and it's NOT guarded by super mutants either.

yeah, i was in the same boat. I picked up fallout 3 a few years ago, but got bored kind of quick. Just picked it up again last month, and i'm on my third play through.

These are good. However the best ones for me were the super mutants blood samples from completing broken steel and the geomapper from Riley’s Rangers

@PivotMonkey422 we are talking about beginning in fallout 3 . the republic of dave is far far away from the vault 101 . in fact, you can have a sniper rifle for free at the beginning . (you just have to go behind megaton it will have a rock and 3 trees you search for the rock and it's writed something when you point on the rock .)

@thefreshprince92 Since you don't seem to know I'll inform you of something regarding the firelance. The gun's appearance is entirely random and it doesn't appear in the same place twice If you are indeed finding the the blaster over and over again with every character in the same place, you're experiencing some sort of bug. If you were to delete ALL of your saves I would almost guarantee you that you wouldn't find the firelance in the flooded metro again.

You can go straight to the lab, but you won't have the speech prompts to complete the quest. In order to get the info you need from him, you have to know he was involved in the incident. As a result you have to have those holotapes to know what to say to him.

When I did the replicated man mission to get A3-12's plasma rifle I hadn't watched this video; so I ended up getting the holotapes in completely different locations, i even went to paradise falls to find one of them. (Fortunately there was a bobble head there too so I really did don't care about the walk)

Instead of killing the drifter you can you the rifle out of his hand. If it drops to the floor you can pick it up, and he can't keep shooting at you when you get close. Then you can come back a couple days later and he will have the reservist rifle again just do the same thing in order to keep getting it. That way if you have trouble finding snipers to repair with you can use a new reservist rifle to repair the old one

It's not necessarily a bad idea to do almost perfect then grab the bobbleheads, its just you reap the benefits incredibly late in the game. I personally don't support the idea, but that's just my opinion.

It's a fantastic starting weapon (OP I mean), plus there's a bobblehead up at the Republic.

i want to tell this:(minor spoiler) if you complete 'operation anchorage', its the quest you get from the DLC's called 'operation anchorage', you have the knowledge to wear power armour. thumps up this, if you think this is a good hint.

When the very first time I played fallout 3 and exit the voult for the first time, it is in a middle of a night... Since then, each time I started over this game, It'll always bright outside... The most random game... The best.

at the end, once getting the plasma rifle, go and talk to Zimmer before killing him. You'll get a good perk for giving up the androids location. Then just kill him and his guard. Job done.
