It's a shame they didn't catch in frame that kid who walked onto stage with a big hunk of driftwood then picked his nose and left, cause that sounded hilarious to see xD

I wonder if the young see boy knew which catchy tune he produced around 1800. It was probably a boy from a fischer family with little money .... it's a shame that he didn't experience his fame

Interesting for me as a New Zealander to see this song, composed in Dunedin, New Zealand to become so well known around the world. I lived 15 years in Dunedin just a few miles from Wellers Rock where the Weller company set up operations in the 1830s. The "Pog 'n' Scroggin Bush Band" did a great version of this on their "Sesqui" album recorded in 1997 as part of a list of Otago folk songs to commemorate Otago's sesquitennial (150years since settlement..although whalers came earlier).....Otago is the region in NZ where Dunedin is.
