I was a show kid and grew up like this, doing dance, modeling, cheerleading, acting, singing. For some kids it works and others it doesn’t. For me it was amazing, it gave me an outlet for the energy and creativity I had. it taught me a lot of really important things about being confident and poised and learning to handle both disappointments and success with grace and maturity. I think people often assume all kids in show business must automatically be missing out, spoiled, or pressured by parents. And while that does happen, it’s not always true

Exactly it depends on the child. Some children thrive on being an actor or performer, it becomes an issue when it clearly isn’t right for child and the parents try and push them to do it

Having lunch with a now grown up former child star that I worked with on a TV series many years ago, he said "You know I never really liked it." That astonished me. I asked why he never said so at the time. "Well, if they had been paying me maybe a hundred dollars a week I may have told my parents I didn't want to do it any more. But when they were paying enough to pay off my parents mortgage every couple of months, how could I ?" He did enjoy the acting and being treated with respect by adult colleagues. It was the fame, press and TV interviews and public appearances that upset him.

I actually think it's okay for babies to do photo shoots, but I would stop before they are aware of what they are doing because I wouldn't want my kids to grow up with such a huge focus on looks and fame. Then, when they are over 10 years old and dream of becoming a famous dancer, singer or actor I would support that and sign them up.

Absolutely, you have it completely right. In my opinion, if it's not the child's decision (when they are old enough to make it), then most likely, it's the mother living vicariously through the child.
@rachelfreeders356
@rachelfreeders356 5 жыл бұрын
Problem with that is they'll be competing with people who have been doing it since they were babies which could make them want to give up, but also could make them push harder to be better. Either way I think even if you were gonna do baby modeling you could just teach them that they are more than just a pretty face you know? You can teach them to be strong and intelligent as well, tho let's be honest looks do matter so as long as that's not ALL they have they should be fine.

Yeah, I think it's only defensible when the parent does it to really change their child's life, like pay for a good school or even just to be able to afford clothes or something. I even somewhat understand parents who are themselves in the entertainment industry and would want their kids to do similar work. But the lengths to which some of these parents go is just ridiculous.

Basically what everyone is saying is Ornella is an absolute cutie. This is relevant with most of the kids here obviously. The difference is that her mum is such a pure human being and hadn't ruined her child like some of the others clearly have cough cough Jenks. No one likes him. That isn't his fault predominantly as although he could change his ways at any point his parenting has clearly set him back. Ted talk over - I'll shut up now.

Looking at your 3 year to bring home the money is horrible. This is the time for them to play with other children, not being dragged hither and yon to photo shoots. It's using your own child to better yourself financially and the child is very aware of it. What a horrible message to give to our young girls! It reinforces the lie that beauty is the most important thing in a young girl's life.

PARENTS of shy intelligent introverted children may look at this and think their child has no place in show business. While their talented quiet kid may be exactly what some movie or TV director is desperately searching for. As with their adult counterparts child models and child actors can be quite different. Check out the KZfaq video of Henry Thomas auditioning for the movie ET to see a real child actor at work. It's breathtaking.

It’s not quite that simple. Adoptive parents have to go through so many interviews, inspections, DBV, meetings and so on to even make it to panel - and many, many adoptive children have huge problems from foetal alcohol syndrome to real behavioural problems and a history of horrific neglect. Adopting isn’t for the fainthearted.

Poor Cenk probably has no time to just be a kid with that schedule at 10-years-old. There's plenty of opportunity for him to work when he's older. One or maybe two instruments is plenty. Who puts their child in lessons for 4 instruments??

It seems like it is more of class pressures and privilege, than the best decision for the family in this case. Is the mother American too?

Mine chose to go to boarding school because the local high school wasn't challenging enough. There were no private high schools in our area, so she would have had to ride a bus close to an hour each way. It was a good experience for her. She chose to move home and commute for her senior year, so we were able to reconnect and have more time together before she left for college.

Why they're playing MJ's background music and showing him on the billboard?

These poor children. Being forced into fame before they even know what they want to do in their life! These parents are after the money. What about what your child wants to be? Love your child for who they are, don't force them to be something they are not. They want to please you and will try to even if it means costing them their happiness! This is Sickening to see.
