At the time of Lumpkin's release, yes, there were highly reflective clothing stickers with pumpkin images being marketed fairly aggressively, though there was no Lumpkin character that I recall. They were pretty much a flop.

I'm actually curious if the "Fifi-fan" was the reason they rewrote "Amazing 3". In the original script there was a scene where the girls stuff their bras and there was a parody of "Night at the Opera" small cabin scene where Babs and Shirley find Fifi in a closet with all the guys they were hitting on, thus explaining why they were after them in the final scene. Yeah, that was actually a thing on Tiny Toons! I got a copy of the script.

Hmm, is it just me or does "Little Witch" sound like "Wendy the Witch", Casper the Friendly Ghost's buddy? Right down to aunts who think she's too nice. Still, I do agree "The Pumpkin Who Couldn't Smile" is a very mellow special, just nice and friendly. :) And it's always entertaining to watch Chuck Jones' work. And Raggedy Ann being the little voice in Agnes's head, remind her how fun childhood was. :) I kind of like to imagine Judd Hirsch plotting his revenge against the Keebler elves...still, the strangest of the "Holiday That Almost Wasn't" specials. The Jeff Goldblum "Sleepy Hollow" does deter from the book and is surprisingly filmed in Utah! Although I guess they're suggesting their village was hit with an early snow? I liked the "Tiny Toons" where Elmyra was parodying everyone's favorite horror show hostess Elvira as "Elmyra, Mistress Who's a Dork".

I absolutely adore Witches in Stitches--I found it by chance online a few years ago and found it to be both hilarious and adorable. Also, John Kassir also voiced Buster Bunny in the It's a Wonderful Tiny Toons Christmas Special. I actually watched a full version on KZfaq a few years ago back in college of the Night Ghoulery special (which until recently, I had no idea the wraparounds with Babs were a parody of Night Gallery) and it is pretty brilliant--my favorite actually is the Abbot and Costello parody "Hold that Duck" with Buster and Plucky playing the title roles--although "The Telltale Vacuum " is pretty amazing as well.

I've suddenly remembered another weird one from the past: 1989's The Witch Who Turned Pink. A rather... novel premise. Even back in the 1st grade I recognized the cheapness from the looped animations.

Some of these i actually want to watch. I've seen the haunted pumpkin of Sleepy Hollow and i must say you bring up good points about it.

Oh yeah, also my theory about the Headless Horseman's pumpkin head? The one that appears in the movie is a descendant of the one the Headless Horseman threw at Ichabod. Basically after it hit Ichabod, it fell to the ground and rotted away leaving it's seeds behind. Then the seeds grew new pumpkins in that spot (or were carried to a different spot and grew them there) and continued to do so for years. As for why the Horseman didn't attempt to get his head back earlier...maybe he needed someone to turn a descendant of his pumpkin head into a jack o lantern first? Or maybe the original manuscript got infected with the magic Nathaniel had when he possessed the book, and then that book passed that magic onto the pumpkin? Who knows.

I remember being read the Little Witch books as a child in Kindergarten. I'll have to look at this special sometime (which has a completely different style from the books--not to mention I recall the little witch ending up in a kitchen when looking for the devil--who is making tomato soup of all things--no clue why or how she wound up there.

Sorry CR, I have to call you out on your understanding of covens. The three members of a coven are the maiden, the matron, and the "other one." The maiden is usually a neophyte or still in training in someway, the matron has honed her craft and takes care of the maiden for all intents and purposes, and the "other one" is the expert and typically eldest/wisest of the group.

Ha, great job once again, CR! I sometimes forget how easily you can make me laugh, and I always enjoy obscure animation that I had zero idea about. I might try hunting down that Tiny Toons special, though I won't expect results. It's weird to know they openly attacked weirdos with no holding back. I don't know of any show that does this, let alone a cartoon. It's a dick move, but man, it's entertaining.

There's one other weird bit in Tiny Toons NIght Ghoulery--in the segment which parodies Frankenstein--Dr. Frankenmyra (Elmyra of course) tells Igor (played by Dizzy Devil) to give her the brain. A jar is given to her and in it is Brain from Pinky and the Brain. "Ooh, I'll play with you later." coos Elmyra---was this perhaps the inspiration for Pinky, Elmyra and the Brain?

The girl in the Haunted Pumpkin of Sleepy Hollow is not played by Kath Soucie, but is played by the narrator of Need For Speed: Most Wanted. Her name is Jules de Jongh, and she is probably best known by many for playing a character on Thomas the Tank Engine.

Returning to this accidentally much later, and having watched a deep dive video... It seems The Tiny Toons guy may have been a garbled rumor, based loosely on someone I think I met socially at several conventions. A fascinating look at the onset and evolution of urban legends and the power of the internet to create false narratives (there's some indication early reports were based on trolling falsehoods.)

If the birth date really determines a witches character and looks, from my experience one born on Nov 1st would be even more morbid and depressing as well as criticize people about anything even if it's not her business even though she's not better. When Bonus Stage came on, all the memories came flooding back. I grew up with that glorious, poorly-animated yet surreal as fuck webtoon. It's like Regular Show if it had no rules whatsoever. I still have lines memorized to this day, I watched it so much. Seriously, go and watch it. All the episodes are on KZfaq. Sure, the channel claiming to be by Matt Wilson is lying, but Wilson himself gave his blessing to it long ago. I don't even know if the old site is running anymore, so you might as well.
