On this episode we will Familiarize on Trunk Deck while the LNG Cargo Tanks Cool Down is performed, what I need to know.
I am locally attending all the cargo tanks and I am explaining on what is taking place during this operation.
This is also a cool down operation with two spray pumps from two separate cargo tanks having the spray line isolated, this is an operation possible to be conducted on all membrane type LNG carriers.
The target during these operations is to achieve the required ready to load temperature in order to accomodate our next cargo.

Dear Captain Nick. It seems you have misnamed spray line valves "discharge" and "return" (frame 1:13 and onward). First I thought you have very customized piping system, but now I checked against other videos from this ship. So CS-X00 - Spray Return Valves, CS-X01 - Spray Pump Discharge Valves (they have non-return valves added). I am very grateful for your videos and am waiting for next pieces of your great education cycle.

Captain, can you kindly tell the width of your forefinger in millimeters? In most of your videos this is the only reference for calculation of true dimensions of your ships' equipment items.

Hello Captain Nick. I am creating a 3D model of your last ship for educational purposes. Your videos are of great help for me, but two big blind spots still remain. They are: interior of Cargo Compressor Room and inside of Subcooler Room. Regrettably, I have no drawings and correct scaing is a great challenge. So any items with known dimensions are welcom, eg A4 paper sheet.

Just one question: When you do the fuel gas burning at sea, do you use fuel gas pump to supply lng to vaporisers & D/F engine(or gcu)? OR do you extract the excessive cargo vapour to LD compressor and then send to D/F engine(or gcu)? Which one is the normal practice?

Priority is to handle the NBOG or with relique or sending the Gas to Dfde engines.Last resource would be the GCU.

Hello captain, may i ask you about the function of sub cooler unit? And about LNG Vapourizer and force Vapourizer, are they the same machinery (or system) but used in different way?

Hello Iwan subcooler subcooler the LNG on board.Forcing vaporizer to be used during passage which requires more gas than the NBOG, LNG vaporizer for gassing up and in case of discharge operation no vapour from shore side then we need to start it

Hello David I used the one from the ship, I remember the brand it's Econ but don't remember the model and I also purchase program to make the captures more sharp. Would you be able to film connexion and disconnexion process while it actually happen or too complicated in terms of risk assesment? purging and pressure testins during connexion, drainage and purge before disconnection. Captain,I watched all 3 parts of cooling down series and have only one question. When Chief was making spraying in tank 2 and 4 he was using only one spray nozzle,port If im not mistaken,so the question is If there is a reason to not use both spray nozzles for each tank? Would he be not able to reach +- 2 bars at nozzles If he used both of them?

If you send me Email I show you screenshots of my work. If you have a 3D viewer (even simple, say ABViewer) you will be able to see your pipes and valves from various aspects and distances. If you download some 3D Editor (eg Blender - it is free) you can modify and correct my mistakes.
