I have a heart condition. I have to pay attention to everything I eat and drink when i dine out. Shes old enough to read the warnings in the drink machine nad on the menu 🤦

It is sad… but if you have a health condition it’s on you to make sure what you consume won’t interfere with said condition or ask what is safe for you to consume

With any pre-existing conditions, taking a chance on drinking anything outside of what you make is taking a chance. Condolences to this family.

If you have a pre-existing heart condition, maybe YOU should take more responsibility in finding out what is in the food and drink that YOU are consuming. I hope they lose this lawsuit.

Wow. That’s crazy! It’s sad that she died, but where else has she seen “charged” lemonade, and what else could it possibly mean?? When you have serious health issues, it’s up to you to know what you’re putting in your body.

They'll not win, it was her responsibility to check everything she consumed, I've allergies to all artificial substances so i check all I consume, I'm allergic to dozens of products , I can drink sparkling ice but I cannot drink the black raspberry flavor because it causes an allergic reaction ... and I'm not suing the company, is like suing McDonald's or Burger caused your type 2 diabetes...

I feel sorry for the family of the young lady. I hope they find some peace. Unfortunately, I doubt if this lawsuit will go anywhere. I've been to a couple of Paneras and they are called "charged" lemonades and it says the caffeine content on the app and the container is labeled that it is x amount of caffeine. I think they even break it down by the size of the cup. I don't see the lawsuit going anywhere.

They didn't force her to buy it and it clearly says it's heavy on the caffeine....Panera is NOT responsible

It's crazy Panera will be responsible for something she drank due to her health and passed. Also, drinks have labels , condolences to her family

If it is posted on drink container that it is caffeinated then it's not Paneras fault.

As someone who has a heart condition, I am always sure I don't ever, I mean never, drink anything with energy drinks, alcohol, and only a certain amount of caffeine. All those drinks with redbulls I stay away from. I also don't do the tea lemonade from Starbucks. I think she thought it was not going to be too much caffeine. There's no way she didn't know. May she rest in peace. A red bull can probably kill me.

This is a crap situation. She's 21 and her own responsibility to read labels. The parents just want someone else to hurt. Misery loves company.

It's highly unlikely a young college student is healthy enough to live life, attend classes, and go out to eat, yet 100mg of caffeine will cause a death. If the condition was indeed that bad, just walking from the car into Panera would have been risky. This could have been anything...

People are responsible for their own consumptions especially with restrictions . I don't see this going anywhere in a lawsuit.

It's not about a lawsuit to hold Panera accountable, it's about how how much money your attorney can negotiate for a settlement. Very common these days. The plaintiff gets money and the company can stay out of court, save face, and move on.
