You guys didn’t downsize, you rightsized your lives. I love everything about what you did. As an instructor, I especially love you taking ownership of the curriculum for your children. They are going to be brave and well cultured adults. I wish this for everyone smart enough to pursue it. Excellent decor as well!

Thank you!! That was one of our biggest concerns before taking the leap too but we have been SOO pleasantly surprised! The people living this way and in RV parks (we bet them before we park) are mostly retired and individuals that are likeminded in that they want to slow down and enjoy nature and wanted out of the rat race! I hope you do this too. You will not be disappointed!

I loved seeing this black successful family being able to be shown in such a great light. Being a black woman in America, it seems all too often that we are looked at like we don’t live normal lives like everyone else. Like the color of our skin means we live wild or something. I just loved this entire story. I love living tiny as well. Definitely looking more into this.

Loved this family! Their children are actually getting educated continuously without realizing it! This is the way children really learn about history, nature, relationships, responsibilities, everything! Children growing up with the Mother and Father guiding, teaching, and having a close relationship with them have a much better chance at becoming better humans!

I love how you included the kids in putting tape on the floor and showing them the space prior to living in the tiny house! Also, incorporating their personalities in their spaces! Your kids are seeing live and in color what they are reading about in the books! ❤ Your husband’s honesty about not helping when the task seems so overwhelming in the big house was funny! 😂 That “honey do” list is much shorter! I love your tiny home and the custom details and wifey you are real handy with the home improvements! 👏🏾

This has to be one of the best floorplans for a family but also for a couple or a single person. If more people would give up their McMansions or even average houses, more people would be living a much happier, debt-free life.

Your tiny home is absolutely beautiful, but the family living in it is even more beautiful. I am in awe of your tiny home and the way that you utilized all of the space. It doesn’t look tiny by looking at it in the video. The idea of traveling all over and allowing the kids to learn more about the world than they would in a classroom is awesome and the family time together will strengthen your family. God is good. I love this couple! Such a well thought out tiny home. They seem to have thought so many challenges through I'm a plant addict too! I love all of those plants. As a homeschool mom I dream of doing the traveling homeschool life, but for our family of 6 it just wouldn't work. I hope y'all homeschool all the way through highschool. My 15 year old (oldest kid) is almost 6 feet tall. I'm sure we could cram ourselves in, but we might not like each other as much. I hope to have each kid design and build a tiny home as a senior project (if time allows) so they have a place of their own even if it stays parked on our property. It would be a kind of final life skillset we could give them as they begin to spread their wings and leave our nest.

Yes it would. I've seen it done. Wish you well. Wish I had had this option in my day. Ima boomer. We were however a military family so we traded spaces so to speak some what. And that was cool too. I'm not in a tiny house, but as a senior now with grown kids who happen to be minimalist, I've downsized to quaint, cozy, comfy, chic senior independent living. And I love it. So take your 6 and go for it. Carpe Diem.

I’ve been watching TH vids for several years. This couple, hands down, gave the most complete, articulate description that makes TH living seem like a very desirable, enriching, option. The pandemic forced me to switch my kids to homeschool and I agree I'm relearning too and it has been very beneficial to me and my kids. I'm a single mother now that works from home and homeschool all I need is a Tiny Home now. Even my kids want one! Yes more of us of Color should know more about this peaceful community

😂 My grandmother had a real life tiny house before it was a thing back in the day, she raised 6 kids in a 2 bedroom, 1 bath home. This video was nice to see a family enjoying their modest life and home.

Mrs. T Lee, lol 😂😅 Yes, our grandparents & great grandparents lived in small home dwellings and knew how to manage with large families back in the day. My grandmother had 12 children and also raised my 4 cousins who lost their parents. They lived in a 4 bedroom small home with one bathroom. Years earlier they lived in a home with an out -house. So it’s doable to live in these new “tiny homes “ if it functionally efficient. More than ever the past few years, people are re-examining what is more important, especially after Covid . They are going back to basics. Spending more time with their family, traveling , having dinner together, young adults moving back in with their parents due to high rents ect It’s a new movement transitioning to slow down and have a better work / life balance, enriching experiences. I enjoyed this video because this family demonstrates that it can be done if planned appropriately. To be mortgage free is a blessing! God bless! 😊❤️

Same here. My Grandparents had their 10 children and my granddad's mother (great grandma) in a 400 Sq ft home. My mom says when they moved to their own property, it took 2 hours to move because they didn't have much to move❤

Being a mother of three boys that are now 21,17, & 15, I wonder how long they can keep those kids in that small bedroom space. Maybe as they need more space they might find that they need to use the "school" loft as a bedroom. I live in an 800 sqft home and had my 17 & 15 year olds sharing a small room until last spring. I finally decided to split my small-ish rectangular livingroom in two to create another bedroom. The smaller livingroom was well worth the sacrifice to stop the constant fighting! Lol That being said, I like the way they divided up the kid's bedroom loft with a dividing wall that doubles as storage. The decals are a nice idea and easy to change out as their interests change with age. Overall, I agree with the other comments about this being a great tiny home. I'm from Massachusetts too and wish that we were allowed to have them here. When my kids are out on their own I'd love to get one, but don't know if I want to move...especially if it would be far away from them.

Moving one child to the 2nd loft is the plan and relocating the home school supplies. We are also considering a container build as the kids get really older. They’re adaptable so we’re enjoying every step

I love how much this family appreciates and enjoys each other. You know it's a good time when they used to have a huge house where just ends up in the same space anyways. The downsize sounds like the right choice for them.

You guys inspire me as I’m an avid tiny home enthusiast. I absolutely loved watching your tiny home video. I also love the love that you have for one another. As an African American, I enjoyed watching this family so very much because I don’t see many of us living this lifestyle. Very beautiful tiny home. Lots of room for this family of 4 with small children. Love their "clean" decor. I also prefer white walls, it makes the place look more clean, serene, elegant and specious.

Beautiful Family! I love to see a Black Family- man and woman(married) and on the same page, doing well and they homeschool-YES and he works from home too, yes!! This is Black Excellence! Now this is the home I want. It is lovely and so beautiful, not just functional. You guys did a great job creating what you wanted and getting the right contractor that understood your needs. Every one has a space. The bathroom is awesome. I feel the same way about a washer and dryer to, well have fun stay safe and healthy. If you buy land and land some where please show us you new deck and any upgrades. Even tiny homes for the kids to really get mom and dad privacy. Lol love it thank you for sharing.

Good job..Am an Ex Nurse...kept the house,turned it into a rental. Paid the mortgage off.. became a long hauler,bought 2 acres and built my tiny home. Since it is backed against the forest...I get to use over 55,000 acres to roam... best part is that 55,000 acres is gated...I got cougars,bears,elk,deer...fish in the front yard. Great view...stream, which will be used for power...life is good.

I loved their approach. Very practical. Loved that they stayed in a tiny home first. Then taped out places in their former home to get a sense of what living tiny would look like. Loved the entire space and the children spaces. Glad they had some privacy and could sit up and had windows. Loved all of the natural light. I'm the same, need natural light! They executed this tiny home beautifully!
