At the risk of sounding like I actually take Family Guy's writing remotely seriously - he literally left his wife and family without the slightest amount of guilt or empathy, nothing nice about that. Obviously if you were gay you really shouldn't stay in a straight relationship, but you could still feel something about the repercussions of it. Anyway, the point is he still seems like the same Peter to me, at least in that regard.
