As you get older the family proximity shrinks. All that remains is your parents and your kids. Keep your loving relationships with aunts, uncles and cousins etc, but stay out of each others business. They don't need to know the why, who, where and when of your life. You should only meet up at weddings, funerals, important family events but live your life privately, in your own way. People without access to you cannot hate on you, and if they do, that's none of your business.

Couldn't have expressed it brother. I moved from toxic Florida, where most of fam resides. Cousins I knew for years would pop into my city to visit me (I REALISE NOW) cause it was more lit, more clubs, more array of women than theirs does. But as soon as I pack up move out of state to where I wouldn't be red-lined from living in nice communities I instantly notice how the phone calls stopped coming in. Seven years, I been living in better conditions than where I was and still NO VOLUNTARY outreach from blood relatives. Definitely feel the real coming from your story bredren.

Straight faCTS... I lost my job right after moving out (which was heavily discouraged BTW despite me wanting to level up) I was broke and broken....I received no help apart from a relative agreeing to host me as I figured my stuff out. Family said i wouldnt get a job for a while and believed that I only could if they got one for me. One month later, i got a job as a lawyer in Colombia..but its a remote role. And now suddenly nobody's okay. Everyone was great when i wasnt. I've received so much hate cause its sth they woulda wanted but just never sought out the opportunity... I Been cursed at, told i could die or that my boss was gonna die and i'd lose my job...and that the only job security that exists is a government job (which they did but i dont want) My only sister hasnt spoken to me since she heard the good news. Was told that i wouldnt get paid, that it was a hoax. Until I did and they are asking to keep my money for me or tell me how to spend it. Its so sad but everything u say is true. I was hated when i dared to be different.😭😭

If the person who's passport was with her mother is from Kenya, there is nothing wrong with that. Parents in Africa are very protective of their children and want to know where their children are at all times. Young or grown up as you may be, you remain a child to your parents. Call it culture shock if at all that person you refer to as hater is African.

I can understand where ur coming from. I would even add to what ur saying and say... I personally believe Sometimes Some Family members don't even know that they r going overboard on Judging you for being You. They get too Comfortable Judging u and putting expectations on u Because of the fact that we r Family. It could also come from a place of selfishness Too. My point is Selfishness and Comfortablity could also be a problem too through (Some) family members..when ur growing as a person. I've been learning from family members myself too so Yeah I can see were ur coming from. And me Personally I understand everybody is different for different reasons (including my family members) and so with that I allow my family to be who they r even if I don't agree with what they say and do because Again I believe everybody is different for different reasons and I also accept the fact that I have my own imperfections and so with that fact it's not like I can lead my entire family to perfection on my own. But I will continue 2 *Pray* for my family. As I do hope they can live a Healthy life as often as possible. But family should remember we all grow through time and that can create a New plan for living life.
