Family luxury done right? 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC300 review: New Volvo XC60 and Audi Q5 rival tested

The 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC300 has recently gone on sale in Australia, where it faces stiff competition from rivals like the Volvo XC60 and Audi Q5, among other mid-size SUVs in the premium segment. Needless to say, the next-generation luxury SUV has its work cut out for it.
That said, the new GLC has gone down an unusual route, with only one variant, the GLC300, available from launch, meaning buyers aren't left with much choice if they are after something with a three-pointed star on the bonnet. That said, optional features are numerous - of course.
So, in this expert review, CarsGuide Contributing Journalist Emily Agar and her family of three spend a week with the GLC300 to find out if its reset the benchmark for family-focused luxury SUVs. Spoiler alert: the answer may surprise you!

Ouch!! Used to be able to get into one of these for about $70k...looks like model Y is the way to go.

Be warned: Hello, are there any other customers with a GLC W254 (2023) -same goes for the GLC coupé or the 2023 C classe (w206) with an incomplete the ambient lighting (despite having paid for the SA894 option)? FYI, The assembly plant runs out of LEDs (among others) and assembles the vehicles without installing the missing LEDs. (Air vents, door handles and central console edges) They deliver the NEW GLCs to customers and IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO HAVE A RETRO-FIT NOR A REFUND. Quote Mercedes-Benz. This is how we are treated: "the customer just has to be happy to be able to pay a good price for a one of our vehicles..." You don't believe me? Ask your dealer (they ave an internal memo with the details)

the suspension of this car is terrible everywhere everything creaks the air conditioner starts to make noise I don’t advise buying because my front differentials broke after 50.000 it costs about $4000/8000 it’s crazy better to take a BMW and the service will be 4 years free and you have to pay for everything for a Mercedes

a terrible car I would never buy because I bought this model and regretted it after 50.000 miles it started to break down and repairs are very expensive not a reliable car I do not advise

@@patrickamponsah679 No, I'm not lying, it's true, I decided to sell it and I don’t think that I will ever switch to a Mercedes, I realized that BMW is better and the service is free, unlike Mercedes

@platon6279 My dad got one of these cars and has no problems what so ever. Bro just needs to learn how to take care of his car 😂💀. I even told him to get x3 because I like BMW's but tbh it's got more features so I get why he got it.
