AC family here. We have a D-14 that is pretty special. She was the first tractor my Dad bought. All the earlier ancestors' tractors were always traded in. Anyhow, the hour meter has broken twice on that D-14 , but we estimate around 15,000 hours. She is still in her work clothes and still gets 200-250 hours a year. Great tractor, and everyone on the farm loves driving her.

When I was about ten my dad bought a hand start John Deere H. When I was 12 I went to work for our neighbor Bernard on his dairy farm. Bernard had a 520 and a 1941 Ford 9N (which I bought in 1968. Bernard’s brother Vince had a farm across the highway from Bernard and they shared equipment. Vince had a 620 and a Farmall H. About 1966 Vince bought a John Deere 2510 gas and Bernard bought Vince’s 620. I got to do some field work with the 620 and later after Bernard sold the farm I worked for Vince and used the 2510. When I came home on leave in May of 75 I spent several days doing field work for Vince with the 2510. Boy I miss those tractors and hope to someday have one of my own.

Great little JD. My father had a hand start Model B which he used as a trade in on a model 60. That is the tractor I used in my youth. We had a 2 bottom plow, cultivator, mower, hay rake, and maunure loader that fit its power. I enjoy hearing it run, the 2 cylinder sound and the whine of the transmission.

Great memories! My grandfather always said a John Deere B was all you need!

Really nice 520, my uncle had a 530 and 630 if I remember right. Loved those two, he had me raking hay at 8 yrs old on them. These tractors were your grand fathers brothers, Bill.

So cool that you have the original manual and title for that tractor! My grandfather passed away last month, and while cleaning out his estate I came across some old titles from the early 70's for some of his tractors, including his JD 520, 60, 50, Ford 4000, and Farmall Super AV. Still have the 60 and 4000 and right now I'm trying to find the 520. He sold it to a farmer in Blairstown, NJ probably 25 years ago, but I don't know where it is now.

Sorry to hear about your grandfather. I hope you find that 520. Those tractors have a lot of stories to tell and it's great when you bring one back to the family

Awesome bud, I have 2 Ford tractors a 1947 8n and a 1941 9n and a 1949 IH Farmall M. My grandpa bought them all new n my dad took over the farm when he was 16 n used these tractors every day for various things rite up til we sold the dairy cows in 1989. They all have been taken care of n restored n now I own them n will never part with them, hopefully keep them in the family for many more generations. The farm I am on now is my best friends n we sold the dairy cows in 2000 n r partners in a beef cow n hay business n we run them in the summer a bit just so the stay in good running condition. Some of my village friends don’t understand why I keep them they don’t get why us farmers keep old stuff like them. Lol keep up the good videos bud.👍🏻

Hello Mike. I have the first new tractor that my Dad bought. It's a 1952 Model M John Deere. I was four years old when he bought it and I remember the day the dealer delivered it. He bought the tractor, a breaking plow, the cultivator, and a 6' disc for $1,850.00. I have all the equipment that he bought new and also have all the operators manuals for them. I drove it by myself when I was 8 years old disking corn ground for Dad while he planted corn with the team and a 2 row planter. I got it and restored it in 2011. Wish I had a way to post a picture of it on here. Thanks for the video and history of the JD 520.
