We were able to get the corn in the ground before it really started raining and our corn makes it to my waist and then there are some replanting because of drown outs. I see a lot that's ankle high. If the weather that ankle high corn maybe can spring up to knee high. Maybe it won't matter.... We rarely plant corn because it freezes in later August. Maybe this year will be a good year. We can always hope.

It appears that the 2940 lacks wheel weights whereas both the 4040 and 4055 have been equipped with rear wheel weights which undoubtedly gives them an extra weight advantage. At 4:50 of that video you acknowledge that the 2940 must of have been on the blower back in the day. Why is that not feasible now? For our tractors, I built a couple of 3ph weight bars that will allow the lighter tractors to get that extra weight when they need to be used in a short-handed situation.
@mikep78104 күн бұрын
The 2940 has the heavier wheels on it. I'm not sure what the weight of the tractor has to do with running it on the blower. Yes we did use it back in the day when that's all we had. I have a question for you Carl. What tractor do you think would run the blower better. An 80 HP tractor, a 100 HP tractor, or a 120 HP tractor?
@aaronjarvenpa17434 күн бұрын
I’m surprised the farm doesn’t have a bigger tractor than the 4555 on the farm .

It all depends on how many wraps you set it for. For the most part a roll can do 22-24 bales

Nice n tight compared to our 648 newholland. Not saying anything is wrong with our baler, it could be the type of hay as well that enables a tight bale to be made.

Right about now I know you are thinking hard about having a QT loader with 3rd function for one of the tractors! It sucks when you have a "main" loader down. As to the wrapper, if it fits, it goes! No reason to wish for a bigger tractor. Great video, Mike! Baleage looks good, and I know you will be careful moving it after wrapping. Those bales can be squishy on the hugger after they ferment. Hang in there! 👍👍
@mikep78104 күн бұрын
Thanks Morgan. I was joking around about putting the big tractor on the wrapper. Actually it worked perfect. Might have to get another big tractor!
