Hello, this is the Highway Ghost speaking. I've been visiting cemeteries and graveyards for many decades. I've been to hundreds of them all across the world and have thousands of photographs and have been documenting them in film/video format since the early 90s. I've studied and admired the craft, artwork and also the paranormal creepy element that brings them all into one unique form of art: the art of death, the eternal void that we must all face one day, whether brave or afraid. Death is the only thing that all humans, creatures, plants and other lifeforms have in common. We return to the great Mother Earth from which we came, either by burial or by fire and dust. I have a playlist of cemeteries and graveyards and upload new footage regular if you're into this type of thing. Ever slept in a cemetery or smelled the damp mildew of an open crypt or saw the charred ashes inside a New Orleans tomb opened from years of weather with femur bones poking from the sinking soil beside it? It's an interesting culture and so much history remains carved in ancient stone all damp and stained from time. I'm fascinated and truly love death and it's morbid art. So to ask if I appreciate grave history is an understatement. I love it if I ever loved an inanimate form. Anyway, enjoy the grave footage. Hello there, Highway Ghost speaking. Thanks for checking out the video and for the comment. I'm not sure exactly if the old tunnel's still open, for the city probably has blocked it off after all the issues they're seeing with drugs and homeless related violence. Asheville's gotten super dangerous for crime, so be careful and be prepared for anything in the downtown area and around the cemetery. I'll stop by and look for it the next trip over there and try and document it if it's still open. Sadly, a lot of the city is to be avoided nowadays.

I've been visiting this cemetery for many years and this was the first time I got to see inside these crypts. Some places offer whats known as a receiving tomb, meaning that these hold the caskets with the recently deceased until the funeral is held later on, however, I don't think this was the case. Sometimes families relocate their dead relatives to another free cemetery plot and then sell off the previous burial site. Then there's the creepy thought of grave robbers, but that's highly unlikely, but it does happen on rare occasion in the US. But either way it made an interesting grave tour video. Wow! that's a classic and that came out way back in the early 1900s. I love this cemetery and the famous folks that rest here will forever be remembered for their talents and just the beauty the whole place has is amazing.
