As requested, i've made the male version too. I haven't added all the singers you suggested but there are a lot of them. Many of them use a lot of Falsetto or Head Voice. I found these notes as their Highest Chest/Mixed notes. If you know others that are even higher, tell me that in the comments. I hope you Enjoyed the Video! :)

Too many people saying “oh they can go higher than that” completely missing that this is all chest/mixed notes only.

@Niko Ringkauf In that case then they have a lot more reinforced head voice than that. Some of the examples shown here clearly apply to the type of voice youre reffering to,
@matiaspereyra9375
@matiaspereyra9375 4 жыл бұрын
@Niko Ringkauf I dont know if you'll agree as much as me, but the key difference between how I distinguish chest and head voices can easily be perceived by how different the timbre sounds on the upper end than it does on the lower end. While the chest remains closer to a normal speaking sound, and may retain dark elements chest is also biologically only possible for the highest male voices from around A4-C5 with maybe D5 for counter tenors, so if done with ease you can bet that some mixing had to be done to take off all of that weight, As a result of the chest qualities thinning out, the remaining voice changes from a darker and bigger timbral sound switch into a more whiny, cry-like smaller, quackier more mickey mouse. spongebob kind of sound that is "chesty" but is noticeably different from the rest of the voice . This of course doesn't mean that some of these singers can't at points blend the sounds well enough that they sound similar, but if we were to compare the points at which the voice truly starts to fade into a new type of sound, and take into account the limitations of what a pure pulled chest sound may sound-like as well as the common tessitura of male baritones and tenors then we can asses whether or not they are using these techniques to reach their sound instead of pulling up their chest voices which at the height of these notes, would be almost impossible for the voice. The problem is that while some may call this a mixed voice, others may call this a reinforced falsetto. But just by the names you can already see that they may mean at least very similar things. When the falsetto is being reinforcced it is taking attributes common to chest belting and thus the sound is "mixed" which is also the definition of mixed voice. From a point of view it can and in this video IS also passable as chest voice since it involves chest voice function slowly and sublty thinning out the higher the singer goes, therefore the highest chest note one can hit is the highest one before the voice copletley goes into a falsetto with noticably less body. And if such a cryish and heady sound as Jeremey Jordan's Eb5 can go into the list then so too can other notes that sound exactly like his. Anything however that no longer pertains to that beltiness or chest like squeakiness, is full on pure head voice or Falsetto/Flageloette Ive seen Shawn Mendez go up to a D5, not that well or that freely, but it is noticably different than what falsetto should sound like while still being whiny and cryish enough to be explained. It is found in one of his vocal range videos(Dont remember which) He has a light voice, but since he shows strain even on a G4 Its obvious by how squeezed the top end is, that he dumps off the weight of chest voice and goes into a weaker but still connected head voice that start to mix in this video above that G4. Sam Smith, like adam levine has a very quacky voice and therefore it is easier for him to create a blend between chest to mixed to pure head voice. He begins to strain above a G#4 but can by the looks of it pull up the natural lower end sound of his voice up to a A#4-B4, but by then his voice sounds more winy, squished and smaller than the much more darker area of his low and mid range . After this however he goes into a very very light mixed voice, which definitely sounds like falsetto. But he adds enough guturral beltiness to it to sound like a baby crying and can do so way up high in choruses like those of money on my mind or the final bridge of Lay me down up to an F5 and at the beginning of his career hit this note with such a strong umpfff and such seamless mix that it could pass easily for his chest voice.(Check out the old acoustic version) When Panic at the disco covers You shook me all night long, Brendon hits G5s that sound just as full , in chestiness and resonance as the C5 in Borap and has no problem mixing or elevating chestiness up to those heights as is evidenced by his vocal delivery in emperors new clothes. SInce Brendons voice is both in timbre and Tessitura up to around G#4 and A4, it is no surprise that. when he reaches that C5 in Borap he does so noticably more lightly and in a less baritoneish way than the timbre of his voice would imply. I infer that the creator of the video thinks that these instance of course sounds TOO free to be considered chest, and it is at the more rough and constricted C5's where the moneys at, but the sounds on both notes carry the same kind of timbre to them, with a more concealsed darkness being able to be achieved obviously on the lower high notes. Zayn Malik is actually able to mix up to an Eb5 (Vocal range video) Bruno Mars has been able to reach an F5 on occasion both in the studio version and live performances of Gorilla and in live performances of When I was your man though most of the times he goes flat to an E5, but it still an accurate representation of his limits. Freddie mercury is spot on.E5 is also as far as he has been able to take the sound, as far as I know only in studio though, with his actual chest voice ending at around G4-G#4 and being able to be pulled up to an A#4-B4 opting to dodge anything higher in live performances and obviously up to a screechy but valid E5. Mitch has such a high and squeaky voice and such a resonant and powerful head voice. Motherfucker has been able to convinclngly belt up to an F#5 but if you catch up with his more intimate recordings and smaller scale projects of Pentatonix he maxes out at around D5-D#5 in terms of percieved chest prescence. (Also check out vocal range video) Havent listened to A LOT of Dimash and though he honestly is God, itsaround G#5-A#5 where this dude can take it. It unmistakably blends perfectly with the rest of his voice, but that B5 clearly is already removed from any chest- like sound and sounds like its 100 percent falsetto/head territory..Same with Alex Newell. That C6 is completley head voice with very faint "reinforcement." however not enough to be considered mixed. And thats okay. Anatomy wise these guys are adding an entire octave to their voice they would otherwise not have, and most of these guys save that high range for very specific moments instead of singing on it constantly. It is absolutley necessary from a health standpoint and from an efficency standpoint that they would use mixed voice or reinforced falsetto to sing higher, otherwise it would be physically impossible, but the idea of reinforced head voice and mixed remains pretty much the same, and each artist has very different degrees of efficency and different degrees of chest and head balance in this range that makes some sound more chesty and others more heady, but it is equally important to recognize that these high notes also arent completley chest voice notes or head voice notes, but rather both in various degrees.

Guys, in the comments i found a lot of complains that aren't right. I know dimash can hit a D8 (it's one my video too)but it's whistle, i know brendon urie can hit a Bb5 easily But NOT in Mixed voice (you can clearly notice his passaggio), i know Mitch grassi can hit a G#5, he can even strain a Bb5 in Frozen Medley But it is NOT mixed voice. This works even for the other singers as Zayn's B5, Shawn Mendes's C#5. P.S. if you don't know what is the difference between Mixed Voice and Head Voice, please don't complain in the comments. Thank you :)

Pamela Bravo Vocal coaches and analysts consistently say Dimash has perfect, unstrained vocals even in his high chest. He is a tenor, so his high notes can come across as strained and shrill as he ascends, but his technique is perfect and he actually isn't straining. He's a vocal anomaly. No one understands how his range is so ridiculously large while also being fully supported.

Skyler Is Stuck On A Lift Hill I won't engage on a discussion because I don't really want to, but every respectable vocal analyst that I've seen agree that Dimash strains a lot and all that he's got is his range.

Great singers, my favourites were : Charlie Puth (C5) : Unexpected! Brendon Urie (C5) : I was expecting higher than a strained C5, but he's a great singer overall! Scott Hoying (C#5) : Pentatonix Have Talent! Period... Zayn Malik (Eb5) : Great singer...Smooth high notes! Mitch Grassi (E5) : Excellent E5! David Phelps (F5) : He's incredible. The best belter for me... Park Hyo Shin (F5) : Very good F5! He has an incredible voice... Ha Hyun Woo (A5) : Music Commander slay them with that A5! Lee Hyuk (A5/Bb5) : I like his G5s more, but great overall... Jeffrey Lewis (Bb5) : O M G Dimash (B5) : Insane how a guy can mix that high! Overall great video and Incredible singers, but I dare say that David Phelps is the best male singer...His resonance and support is insane especially in the G4-Eb5 area...
