FAMU drum cadence: Tuvok

Florida Classic battle of the bands 2011 in Orlando, Fl at Amway Center parking structure. FAMU Marching 100's Z phi 28 drumline warms up on a cadence called Tuvok. The cymbal player that is being filmed is Vince, he was a member of Echo in high school.

I didn't Know bruh 😞. I went to Lucy Laney and moved to The Seaport in '81 and married a Beach Bulldog and I love it ! The bands in Savannah have since dropped off dramatically compared to what the "standard " was .my son loved the pageantry of HBCU Bands as a child and I would Always take him to Savannah State vs whomever to Witness our "glory and tradition " . After witnessing Alabama State he went there ! RIP to a Tru Savannah legend ; thanks for the knowledge 🤔.

Actually these guys on this line can chop individually but as a line they have different techniques for each section that are hard to learn and not the easiest to clean but is as clean as its gonna get for their technique.

Mr. Derp Derples seeing as how Macy's is one of the most competitive parades I would think selection and position would imply quality. This is coming from someone who had marched both traditional and corps. My band Georgia state university will be in the parade next year and it is a huge honor. Famu is a beast in the band world (I think these separate worlds for dci and hbcu is ridiculous and a fault on both sides)

You cant have a 50 piece drum section with tuned basses, high tenors, low tenors, and tom toms, and quints, and quads, its gonna sound to messy like that cadence was

These colleges don't focus on being clean or having good drum skills, its all about the volume and the dancing. Different strokes for different folks.

So what are you say Drew, that all black people know how to do is dance? And what do you mean by THESE COLLEGES? These are just the percussion section of a MARCHING BAND, not DCI. Learn to respect cultures different from yours!
