Went to see him in Prague… was such a great experience. Also, you can usually just turn on captions on most of his songs. This song is even a bit more hard hitting when you know the exact message.

If you look up Dimash and Gabriel at the airport you will see the pure love and kindness he reacted with when a 10 year old autistic boy literally jumped into his arms because he loves Dimash so much. Dimash is 28 soon to be 29 year old from Kazakhstan. Been attending music type school for 20+ years. Has 2 bachelor degrees in Bel Canto and Contemporary vocals, A Masters Degree in composition. He didn't write this song, the piano man Igor Krutoy did. He wrote it in 1994, and this performance was the 25th anniversary of it. He did rewrite the song for Dimash's vocal range. And yes, this song is in Russian. Dimash speaks Kazakh, Russian and English and a bit of Mandarin, but he can sing in over a dozen languages.

In my opinion you have discovered the best singer in the world. He has perfect pitch and currently has a vocal range of 7,7 octaves (vocal fry C1 (B0) - whistle D8 off the piano). That means he hits notes in almost 8 octaves and sings consistently in 6 octaves. Not in one song (mostly😅). At least what he has shown us so far. He plays several instruments like piano, dombra (a kazach instrument), drums, marimba and more. He has classical as well as contemporary vocal training and sings in different genres from opera to pop, jazz, Kazakh folk, ballads and he even raps a bit. And often he skillfully mixes several genres in one song. And meanwhile in more than 10 languages. The latest songs (from Tokyo Jazz Festival in November 2021) are Ikanaide in Japanese and at his concert in Almaty on September 23, 2022 he sang a new song in Spanish (about 7 languages in one concert!). He sings no mainstream and is a completely independent artist. He has his own company „DimashAli Creative Center“ and is managed by his father Kanat. Maybe that’s the reason you never heard of him yet. He doesn’t sell his soul to a music label. He doesn’t want to be dictated by money when he has to sing what, when, where and how. Many of my favorite songs are in his native tongue. He is a nice, respectful and humble person. He respects people regardless of their original, religion or profession. But he also works very hard to improve his vocal skills. He said in an interview that he trains at least 3 hours every day, if necessary, it can be 10 hours to prepare for a concert. He loves swimming and also a lot under water. Maybe that's why he has this large lung capacity to hold the notes as long as he does. He's a singer you can't put in any box. He sings almost every genre there is. Every time you watch a video, expect the unexpected. Even the covers he sings he makes his own and brings elements into the song that you would never expect. Dimash was 2 years old when he first got up on stage with his parents, and actually sang something, and they are both well known singers in Kazakhstan. He developed his perfect pitch in his mothers womb! {that's my theory anyway 🤣} and he commenced formal musical and vocal training, with the best teachers in the land from the age of 5, and hasn't stopped singing, creating music, and performing a single day since. So the stage is his second home, and he had a genetic 'leg up', but this level of skill sits on DAILY practice! Practice! PRACTICE! He learned to play multiple instruments and compose early and has studied EVERY form of Vocalisation and Genre. [ Classical, Contemporary & Traditional ] He was winning song competitions all over Eastern Europe from his teens, and aged 23 was invited to perform, as a wild card entry, to the Chinese Singer competition in 2017. This competition is for established artists only and the audience are all industry professionals. Believe it or not, as young as Dimash is, he IS a professional who is university trained in classical and contemporary music, as well as composing. Since the age of 5, his grandmother took him to vocal lessons, where he took lessons I believe 3 hours everyday, even till this day, he doesn't neglect his hard work, because I can tell you from experience that talent is nothing without hard work and neglecting it will cause you to lose your talent. Both his parents are also singers, so you can see that he comes from a musical background and that he has over 20 years of training, over 20 years of gaining confidence and over 20 years of learning from previous mistakes, making sure they don't happen again. So you see, Dimash is no amateur, he knows full well what he's doing and his stage presence and confidence is proof of that he's a professional performer.
